Chapter 162: A Place We Can Call…
The morning sunlight filters softly through the windows of the master bathroom, casting a warm amber glow across the steam-filled room.
Inside the glass shower, water cascades over Orion’s body in a steady, soothing rhythm.
Orion hums a low, quiet tune as he washes his hair. It is a melody he does not even remember where he heard it from, lingering in the back of his mind like a pleasant dream.
His skin shines under the spray, his eyes bright, and a wide, helpless smile rests on his face. In fact, anyone looking at him right now could tell that even if the sky falls from above and onto the earth, today is going to be a wonderful day for him.
The rest of the year, even his entire life, is going to be wonderful.
He rinses the lather from his hair, his mind drifting lazily back to the events of the night before.
He thinks about their spontaneous trip to the amusement park, the way Adrien looked in that yellow dress, and the soft, breathless kiss they shared beneath the trees.
He remembers Adrien pulling back for a single second, searching his eyes, before leaning right back in to press his red lips against his once more.
He recalls the quiet dinner afterward, the playful banter they traded across the table, the genuine fun he had listening to Adrien complain about the giant plush bear, and then... the sensual, uninhibited moments in the back of the car.
Orion closes his eyes, letting the warm water roll down his chest as memories rush over him. He remembers the feeling of Adrien’s legs coiling tightly around his waist for dear life, holding on as Orion thrust into him again and again.
He remembers the bright yellow dress pulled up high around Adrien’s waist, his smudged eyeliner, and the soft tears slipping down his cheeks as he cried out with every intense orgasm.
He remembers Adrien riding him in the dark, desperately trying to keep up with his relentless pace, failing, yet refusing to give up.
He remembers those long red artificial nails digging deep crescents into his back, anchoring Adrien to him as another wave of pleasure wracked his body.
A quiet chuckle escapes Orion’s throat. Honestly, after he’s done dealing with the last of Adrien’s public scandal, there is nothing else he wants to do.
He doesn’t care about board meetings, family politics, or dancing stock prices. Maybe he and Adrien will just pack their bags and head to one of his private islands where no one else can touch them.
They could spend the rest of their lives there, far away from all the noise, since Adrien loves peace and quiet so much.
Orion will make sure to turn the entire island into a private sanctuary just for him.
And then, perhaps in the future, if Adrien ever feels the urge to pass something on to a child before he leaves this earth, they will adopt.
Maybe a sweet little girl with warm brown eyes, or a boy with... well, Orion hopes there is no other child born with eyes as soulless as his own. A boy with bright brown eyes like Adrien’s would be wonderful.
As he stands there lost in thought, the bathroom door swings open.
Adrien walks into the room, wearing nothing but a white towel low around his waist.
Even as the soapy water and shampoo drip down Orion’s forehead, stinging his eyes, his gaze tracks Adrien’s every movement.
Through the blurred, stinging vision, Orion watches Adrien walk across the bedroom floor toward the sink. Adrien casually squeezes toothpaste onto his toothbrush and begins brushing his teeth, his expression completely calm.
Orion cannot tell if Adrien is intentionally teasing him or if he is just plain ignoring his presence altogether.
He continues to watch him until Adrien finishes brushing, rinses his mouth at the sink, and walks straight toward the glass shower doors.
Adrien slides the glass door open, stepping casually into the stall. Water splashes against his legs as he looks up at Orion, a faint smirk touching his lips.
"Good morning, weird fucker," Adrien says smoothly, his voice slightly raspy from sleep. "Why don’t you wash the shampoo off your head before it drips into your eyes and permanently blinds you?"
Before Orion can answer, Adrien turns slightly, muttering under his breath, "Not like that would be much of a loss anyway. Nobody deserves the punishment of having to look into those eyes every damn morning."
Orion lets out a rich, booming laugh, finally ducking his head under the shower stream to rinse the remaining foam from his hair and face.
He is still laughing softly to himself until he feels a warm, slender hand slide flat against his wet chest.
His laughter dies in his throat.
With the shampoo fully washed away, Orion opens his eyes and looks down at Adrien. The shorter man is slowly rubbing his palm over Orion’s chest, tracing the line of his muscle with a slow, provocative rhythm.
Orion looks at him, genuine wonder filling his mind as he ponders who exactly is the true sex freak between the two of them.
Because even if Adrien cannot physically keep up with his stamina, Adrien has managed to instigate their sexual relations far more times than Orion ever has. Not that he’d ever think of refusing his advances...but the thought still stands.
Orion tilts his head, his voice dropping into a low rumble over the sound of running water. "Are you not sore from everything we did last night?"
Adrien breaks into a bright, wicked laugh, shaking his head. "You’re actually not all that, you know."
A brief, charged moment of silence settles between them inside the steaming stall. They stare at each other, the tension thick and warm in the air.
Orion’s eyes slowly drift downward toward his own lap, and Adrien’s gaze naturally follows. Between them, Orion’s impressive length hangs heavy, thick and already stirring back to life under the spray of the water.
Adrien tilts his head to the side, looking at it, then lets out a soft sigh and shakes his head. "Well... I stand corrected."
Orion chuckles, a deep, fond sound in his chest. Without a word, he calmly reaches forward, takes hold of Adrien’s towel, and rips it away from his waist in one smooth motion.
Sliding the glass shower door open just an inch, Orion tosses the wet towel onto the bathroom bench outside, then slides the door shut once more.
"It is bad manners to bathe with your towel on, duckling," Orion says smoothly.
Adrien gives him a very unimpressed look, raising one eyebrow at the theatrical display.
Yet, that dry, unimpressed look quickly fades into something far deeper, something sultry as Adrien’s hand on his chest begins to trail slowly downward, gliding over Orion’s toned stomach.
