Chapter 47: Orc Tribe Defeat
"This is taking longer than I expected," Arc said as he watched the battle between the two monster tribes drag out.
His initial plan on visiting the island was to question the Destroyer, but now that he had his answers, a wicked thought crossed his mind.
The same people who had betrayed him in his past life and subjected him to slavery had delivered themselves to him. Even though they never got the opportunity to betray him now, Arc knew that if given the opportunity, fate would repeat itself. And there were simply some things that could not be forgiven in two lifetimes.
At present, he was easily four times their level and even stronger in terms of strength. He could kill them all with a single command of his daggers without having to lift a finger, but where was the satisfaction in that?
Arc wasn’t aiming to avenge himself. He never died by their hands, after all. He was aiming to make each and every one of them experience that betrayal from the people they trusted the most, just like they did to him... before they died.
It was surprising how fast he came up with a revenge plan just from watching the crimson goblins battle the orcs. But he needed an unsuspecting monster tribe island to execute that plan, and it couldn’t be the Destroyer, who had a more important task to take care of for him.
Arc tilted his head just enough to look at the Destroyer. "Finish this quickly. Kill as little as possible, and bring me their leader."
"Yes, my lord."
The Destroyer ascended into the sky and shot forward like a cannon towards the enemy island.
Arc didn’t stay idle after passing the command. He began heading towards the enemy island as well at a calm pace.
He walked through the goblin village and arrived at the gates where the battle was raging, and without stopping for anything, he sent his daggers out to make a path for him in a spray of crimson that painted the battlefield a darker shade of red.
He only did this so he could pass without having to lift a finger, but his actions greatly assisted the crimson goblin warriors and demoralized the orcs who witnessed the absolute dominion of the human on their enemy’s side. Using this to their advantage, the crimson goblin warriors began pushing the orcs back as they cut down even more of them.
Arc, who had only wanted to cross over to the other side, ended up walking through a battlefield all the way to the orc tribe village as they were relentlessly pushed back and forced to retreat. Arc, who had only wanted to create a path, ended up unintentionally participating in the battle and leading the crimson goblin warriors as they marched close to him.
They arrived before the orc chief’s residence, where the tribe’s elite warriors were surrounded in a defensive formation, led by a tall orc with the frame of a bodybuilder on steroids.
Mini Boss.
[Bjorn, Son Of Var’thrak | Lv28]
The orc confidently stepped forward with his spear, looking down disdainfully at the scrawny crimson goblins, and opened his mouth to speak, his muscles relaxed as he watched Arc calmly approach him.
Bjorn hadn’t uttered a word when he was immediately barraged with a torrent of arrows and spears from the crimson goblins. Arc was surprised and looked behind to see the crimson goblin warriors hailing him to keep going as they charged into the battalion of orc elite warriors. It was almost like they were telling him to keep moving ahead and they’d take care of the orcs themselves.
Arc was amused.
Though Bjorn managed to escape the surprise attack, the crimson goblin warriors didn’t let him get close to Arc as they surrounded him and led Arc towards the door of the orc chief’s residence while fighting off the orcs that tried to break the encirclement. And once Arc successfully stepped through, they shut the door behind him and remained outside to battle the orcs.
The corner of Arc’s lips slightly tugged up as he looked ahead to witness another battle, between the orc chief and the Destroyer.
[Var’thrak | Lv40]
The orc chief was strong, but he was no match for the Destroyer, who was beating him down and sent him flying and scuttling towards Arc.
Arc simply raised a foot and brought it down on the orc chief’s chest. Var’thrak coughed up a mouthful of blood as he painfully looked up at the new enemy, whom he could tell without a doubt was much stronger than the previous one, with the dead eyes of an apex predator.
The enemy’s lips parted and only a few words escaped his throat that made his pupils shrink to the size of pinholes.
"Do as I say."
***
Arc returned to the island after passing on a mission to the two tribe chiefs.
One was to track the whereabouts of all the Authority Devils in the beginner zone, and the other was to set sail immediately for his current island, and until they arrived, he was to do his part to create a friendly environment for his enemies.
He ascended from his bunker to find the study room empty, just as he’d instructed. He stepped out of the study and began touring his new home. Though this wasn’t his initial plan, it wasn’t far from it. He was going to build a stronghold beneath the manor.
He climbed the staircase and arrived upstairs, and was just about to start touring that floor when Rhea suddenly stepped out from one of the doors, still in her hood, and shut it behind her.
Arc paused to stare at her before abandoning the other rooms before the one she stood in front of and deciding to start there instead.
But the moment he stepped before the door, the Avariel healer spread her arms out to block his path.
Just as he thought, she was acting suspicious and was definitely hiding something behind those doors. But it didn’t matter, because everything that belonged to her and her island now belonged to him.
He didn’t say a word and stepped to the side to get past her, but Rhea shifted to block his path once more.
"What the hell do you think you’re doing?"
"I-I can’t let you go in."
