Chapter 322: The Answer to the Riddle
At the restroom door, Zhao Dong stopped. Without turning his head, he said indifferently, "Why are you following me?"
"Sir, please don't misunderstand," the woman said in a sweet voice.
Zhao Dong turned his head as the woman took off her sunglasses.
Seeing her face, Zhao Dong's heart skipped a beat. She's absolutely stunning!
She had a pair of noble, beautiful phoenix eyes, a delicate, elegant nose, and luscious red lips that were incredibly seductive. She was, without a doubt, the kind of beauty who would stand out in any crowd.
The woman smiled and extended a slender, fair hand toward Zhao Dong. "Hello, my name is Su Yurou. I wanted to thank you for saving all of us."
"It was nothing. I was just trying to save my own skin."
Zhao Dong shook her hand, marveling at how soft her skin was.
Withdrawing her hand, Su Yurou smiled and said, "Regardless of your reasons, if you hadn't acted, we all would have died. I feel I should thank you."
Zhao Dong laughed teasingly. "And how would you do that?"
Su Yurou smiled gracefully. "You were quite dashing back there. If you didn't have a girlfriend, I might have considered offering myself to you. But I'm not the type to break up a happy couple. I was thinking we could be friends. How about we grab a meal together and get to know each other?"
There was no reason for Zhao Dong to refuse an invitation from a beautiful woman, especially since he had a feeling there was more to her than met the eye. Although she hadn't been in first class, she certainly wasn't an ordinary woman.
Zhao Dong gave a faint smile. "I wouldn't be opposed to that. I don't have many hobbies, but making friends is one of them, especially with beautiful women."
Su Yurou covered her mouth and chuckled lightly. "Before I came over, I thought you'd be a difficult person to talk to, but you're surprisingly easygoing."
"Was it the part about chopping off heads that scared you?" Zhao Dong retorted.
Su Yurou shrugged. "That really didn't seem like you were acting. You scared me half to death. But after talking with you, I don't think you're such a cruel person."
"Is that so?" Zhao Dong shook his head. "That just depends on who it is. If it's an enemy, I wouldn't mind taking their heads off myself."
His words made the woman's beautiful eyes narrow slightly, a complex expression flashing within them. After a moment, she retrieved a black, gilt-edged name card from her coat—inscribed with only a name and phone number—and handed it to him.
"I'm sure I'll get to know you better."
Zhao Dong took the card, wrote his own number on it, and handed it back to her. "I have a photographic memory, so I've already memorized your number. This is my contact info. Let's meet again if we get the chance."
Su Yurou stepped closer to him and took the card back. She leaned in and whispered in his ear, her breath fragrant, "We'll meet again if fate wills it."
With that, she gave him a serene smile and turned to leave. After a few steps, she glanced back at him. "And I have a feeling it won't be long."
Zhao Dong simply smiled without a word and turned to enter the restroom.
「The plane landed.」
Immediately, armed soldiers rushed aboard. Below on the tarmac, firefighting and medical personnel were already in position, along with numerous reporters with their cameras clicking away nonstop. Clearly, this hijacking was going to be explosive news.
Reporters tried to interview Zhao Dong, but he flatly refused them, then pulled Lin Qingyun away and left quickly.
"Qingyun, Zhao Dong!"
An anxious Ling Feng appeared among the crowd waiting at arrivals. Seeing the two of them were unharmed, he breathed a huge sigh of relief.
"Qingyun, thank God you're safe!"
Lin Qingyun smiled. "It wasn't God, it was Zhao Dong. I would have been doomed without him."
Ling Feng was taken aback. He gave Zhao Dong a profound look before clapping him on the shoulder. "Good man! You never cease to amaze me. You're definitely worthy of being my brother-in-law!"
The three of them exited the airport.
A two-tone Rolls-Royce Ghost was parked at the entrance, a dazzling sight. Next to it stood two burly bodyguards in black. One of them opened the door, protectively ushering a woman in a camel-colored coat into the vehicle.
Su Yurou? A woman who gets picked up in a Rolls-Royce was flying economy? How interesting.
Looking to the side, Zhao Dong was startled to see Ding Lan standing by the road. She was all alone, looking somewhat forlorn. As if sensing his gaze, she looked back at him. Their eyes met for an instant, and a deeply complex emotion filled hers. She quickly averted her gaze, turned, and left, her solitary figure disappearing down the dim road.
"Zhao Dong, this is a key card for the Hilton Hotel." Just then, Ling Feng took a key card from his pocket and handed it to Zhao Dong. With a troubled expression, he explained, "You can stay here for now and enjoy Provincial City for a few days. I didn't get a chance to go back to the Lin Family when I returned yesterday, and I'm not sure what the situation at home is right now. So, I'd like to go back with Qingyun first and check things out..."
Zhao Dong nodded slightly. "That's fine. It would be too abrupt to go there directly. You two go on ahead and sort things out."
"Yes, that's exactly what I meant." Ling Feng breathed a sigh of relief. He had been worried Zhao Dong wouldn't agree, but it was clear Zhao Dong was not an unreasonable person.
After another tender moment with Lin Qingyun, Zhao Dong finally bid them farewell.
After they left, Zhao Dong did not head straight for the hotel. He had another purpose for coming to Provincial City.
So, he dialed the phone number of Han Chuxue's grandfather, Han Qingtian.
"Mr. Han, I hope you've been well," Zhao Dong said, taking the initiative.
Mr. Han was delighted to hear Zhao Dong's voice. After they exchanged pleasantries, Zhao Dong got to the point.
"Mr. Han, the real reason I'm calling is to ask if you know anyone in Provincial City who is good at gathering information."
