Chapter 318: Snake Venom!
"The Wolf Head Gang! It's really the Wolf Head Gang! It's over... this young man is finished!"
"Sigh, he's a good kid, but what a pity. Who dares to stand up for others these days? You'll get yourself killed!"
With several burly men supporting him, Wang Shan stood up and fumed, "Kid, my men are here! You're fucking dead!"
"This scum is all the backup you have?" Zhao Dong's tone was casual, neither servile nor overbearing.
"Scum?" Wang Shan jeered. "Keep running your mouth, and I'll chop you into scum!"
Zhao Dong simply smiled. "So, you think these dozens of goons are a lot?"
"Not a lot!" Wang Shan raised his head arrogantly, looking down his nose at Zhao Dong. "But it's more than enough to deal with trash like you!"
"Is that so?" Zhao Dong smiled wickedly, a playful glint in his eyes.
Seeing this, Wang Shan felt a cold sweat trickle down his spine. An ominous premonition nearly suffocated him.
VROOOOM...
Just then, the roar of engines suddenly filled the air. The noise was faint at first, but within seconds, it became deafening.
RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
The ground itself seemed to tremble.
Everyone looked over and saw dozens of black SUVs speeding toward them, kicking up a storm of sand and dust. In moments, the SUVs pulled up before the stunned crowd.
The cars stopped smoothly. A swarm of men in black suits emerged and surrounded Zhao Dong. They bowed in unison and roared respectfully,
"Brother Dong!"
"Brother Dong!"
"Brother Dong!"
The three shouts left the villagers and Wang Shan's men completely dumbfounded. Their own scrawny goons were not in the same league as these burly men in black! To put it bluntly, any one of these men in black looked like he could take on their entire group single-handedly.
Their murderous aura was terrifying.
Many of Wang Shan's men turned deathly pale with fright, too scared to even move. Wang Shan himself swallowed hard, his body trembling violently.
He wasn't a fool. This newcomer's influence was clearly on a completely different level from his. How could he not be terrified? His psychological defenses shattered in an instant.
Zhao Dong glanced at Wang Shan and said lightly, "Brother Shan, is it? Come on, you wanted to make a move, didn't you? I'm giving you a chance."
At these words, one of the men in black next to Zhao Dong shot out a kick.
BANG!
Wang Shan was sent flying seven or eight meters away. He spat out a mouthful of blood; he could feel two of his bones were broken.
The man in black looked at Zhao Dong and asked, "Brother Dong, should I kill him?"
Those words terrified Wang Shan. He scrambled up from the ground only to fall to his knees, wailing, "Brother Dong... I was wrong! I truly know I was wrong! I was blind not to recognize your greatness. Please, spare me! I'll never dare to bully the Chen family again."
"Spare you?" Zhao Dong smiled faintly. "If I hadn't shown up today and Rongrong were the one kneeling here, would you have spared her?"
"I... I..." Wang Shan stuttered, terrified.
"Speak the truth!" Zhao Dong barked. Wang Shan felt a sudden warmth spread through his trousers, followed by a foul stench. He... he'd pissed himself. So this is all a villain amounts to.
"No... I wouldn't have..." Wang Shan lowered his head, quivering as he spoke. He didn't dare lie; he knew the price.
Zhao Dong smiled faintly. "There you have it, then. Men, drag them all away and chop off one hand from each!"
The men behind him immediately roared, "Yes, Brother Dong!"
Without another word, they swarmed forward. They beat Wang Shan and his cronies to a pulp before dragging them away to receive their punishment: a severed hand.
Soon, Wang Shan and his men vanished, their cries slowly fading into the distance.
Tears of joy streamed down Uncle Chen's face. "The heavens have eyes! The heavens have eyes!"
"Young man, thank you... The Chen family thanks you!" As he spoke, Uncle Chen was about to kneel to Zhao Dong.
Zhao Dong quickly stepped forward to support the old man, smiling. "Uncle Chen, there's no need for that. Rongrong and I are friends. This was the least I could do."
After much persuasion, Uncle Chen finally relented, though he continued to offer his thanks through his tears. Nearby, Chen Rongrong's eyes were also filled with tears, deeply moved by Zhao Dong's actions.
Afterward, Zhao Dong used acupuncture to treat the elders' legs. Because the injuries were new, the treatment wasn't difficult. By the time he was finished, the Chen family revered Zhao Dong as if he were a god and insisted that he stay for a meal.
Zhao Dong initially wanted to decline, but fearing it would make the elders uncomfortable, he agreed.
After lunch, Chen Rongrong suggested they go for a walk. Sensing that she had something she wanted to say, Zhao Dong didn't refuse, and they strolled leisurely down the village path together.
After they had walked for a while, Chen Rongrong's pretty face blushed. Her beautiful eyes, full of admiration, kept stealing glances at Zhao Dong.
"Brother Zhao, thank you so much for today. Without you, I really don't know what I would have done."
"Please, no more 'thank yous.' I've heard that phrase more than enough today," Zhao Dong said with a helpless sigh.
Chen Rongrong fell into an awkward silence. She had no way to repay him. If she couldn't say 'thank you', what could she possibly say?
Suddenly, an idea struck her. "Brother Dong, since you're skilled in medicine, you must like herbs, right?"
"Oh? You have herbs?" Zhao Dong was instantly interested. Many herbs contain Spiritual Energy and can be refined into pills to improve my cultivation.
"I don't, but there are some on the mountain behind the village!" Chen Rongrong hastily pointed to the mountain behind them.
Zhao Dong's gaze followed her finger, his expression immediately turning to one of surprise. The Spiritual Energy on this mountain is richer than it is outside? Could it be... there are top-grade medicinal herbs here?
Chen Rongrong smiled. "Brother Zhao, that's the mountain. The villagers often find herbs there!"
Zhao Dong said with sudden excitement, "Rongrong, let's go take a look!" He hurried toward the mountain, with Chen Rongrong quickly following.
「On the mountain.」
Zhao Dong was grinning from ear to ear. The mountain indeed had plenty of Spiritual Medicine. Although they weren't particularly rare, they were better than nothing.
Several hours later, the bamboo basket Zhao Dong had brought was stuffed full. By now, there were hardly any herbs with Spiritual Energy left on the mountain. Seeing this, Zhao Dong prepared to head back.
"Ah! Snake... snake!" Suddenly, Chen Rongrong's terrified shriek came from three meters away.
Zhao Dong rushed over, only to see a five-step snake on the ground! Without hesitation, he stomped down, crushing the five-step snake to a pulp. Leaving such a venomous creature on the mountain would only endanger the villagers, so naturally, Zhao Dong wouldn't let it live.
"It's all right now, the snake is dead," Zhao Dong said, dusting off his hands. But when he turned back, he saw Chen Rongrong lying on the ground, pale as a ghost.
"It hurts... it hurts..." she whimpered.
Zhao Dong's heart sank. She couldn't have been bitten by the snake, could she?
He rushed to her side and checked for injuries but couldn't find any wound. However, the deathly pallor of her face told him she had definitely been bitten.
"Where's the wound?" Zhao Dong asked urgently.
A crimson blush spread across Chen Rongrong's pale face. She bit her lip, her expression fraught with conflict.
"Tell me now!" Zhao Dong demanded anxiously. "The five-step snake's venom spreads incredibly fast. If I can't find the wound, you'll be dead in less than three minutes!"
Zhao Dong's words sent a chill through Chen Rongrong, and her face went white again. She hesitantly parted her legs...
Zhao Dong was stunned. The wound... it's on her inner thigh!?
"Brother Zhao, what should I do? Am I going to die?" Chen Rongrong asked, tears welling up in her eyes.
Zhao Dong gritted his teeth. "You're not going to die. The only way is to suck the venom out!"
"What!? Suck... suck it out!?" Chen Rongrong was so embarrassed she immediately clamped her legs shut.
Zhao Dong forcibly pried them apart again. "If you don't want to die, don't move!"
His tone was utterly commanding. Without waiting for Chen Rongrong to respond, he pulled down her jeans.
"It's no good, I still can't see the wound," Zhao Dong said, his expression grim.
Chen Rongrong had already turned her head away, wishing the earth would swallow her whole.
"Rongrong, a doctor sees no gender, only a patient. Forgive me!"
Saving a life is a race against time. Before Chen Rongrong could speak, he ripped away the white fabric. Beneath it was pink.
Zhao Dong breathed a sigh of relief. Well, at least this won't be scratchy.
Taking a deep breath, he first used his Spiritual Energy to contain the venom's spread, then leaned down and pressed his lips to the wound.
"Ngh..."
How could Chen Rongrong withstand such a sensation? She let out an involuntary moan and clamped her legs shut, trapping Zhao Dong's head.
"Don't... don't move! I can't reach the wound!" Zhao Dong's voice was muffled.
Chen Rongrong hastily relaxed her legs. But the intense sensation made her eyes glaze over, her body twisting uncontrollably.
