Chapter 306: Duel!
Moreover, he had poisoned Xu Yafei instead of killing her outright specifically so she would die in front of Zhao Dong. This would not only satisfy Hong Wu's twisted mind but also buy him more time to escape.
Zhao Dong, you're probably still holding Xu Yafei's corpse and crying your eyes out, aren't you? Hahaha! I even left her body for you. You could say I helped you two out. You really should be thanking me!
Hong Wu laughed wildly, but the sound stopped abruptly, as if severed by a steel blade.
His pupils contracted, his gaze fixed on the figure that had suddenly appeared at the dock. Under the night sky, the figure exuded a terrifying, murderous aura. Hong Wu's body began to tremble, and his face contorted. He panted heavily, his eyes bloodshot, clenching his teeth so hard they began to bleed.
It was Zhao Dong.
Staring coldly in their direction, he wordlessly leaped onto a nearby speedboat and gave chase.
Hong Wu was stunned. "Fuck!" he bellowed. "How can Zhao Dong operate that speedboat?"
His subordinate cried out in alarm, "This is bad, Boss! That's our speedboat! We forgot to take the keys!"
"You motherfucker!" Hong Wu was livid, veins bulging on his forehead. But he knew panic was useless. "Speed up!" he roared. "Speed the fuck up! If he catches us, we're all dead!"
"Yes, Boss!"
As the distance between them and Zhao Dong grew, Hong Wu finally breathed a sigh of relief. But just then, he instinctively felt something was wrong. His pupils contracted. The next second, his body lurched to the side, and he almost stumbled and fell. Turning his head, Hong Wu was stunned by what he saw.
His own yacht had executed a perfect 180-degree turn and was now charging straight for the shore.
"Damn it! How the hell are you piloting this thing? Turn around, for fuck's sake!" Roaring, Hong Wu rushed to the bridge, only to freeze in shock.
The bridge was locked from the inside. Through the window, he could see the captain steering the yacht directly toward the coast.
Hong Wu was dumbfounded.
Damn it! The captain betrayed me?
"I'll kill you!" Hong Wu's murderous intent flared, and he was about to strike when a cool, detached voice drifted over.
"Hong Wu, you can't escape."
Hong Wu flinched, looking up at the figure descending the steps. The woman before him was beautiful. With vermilion lips and pearl-white teeth, a single lock of black hair was tucked behind her ear. Her thin lips conveyed a cold sort of nobility and elegance.
Hong Wu frowned, his voice like ice. "Who are you?"
The woman's voice remained cool. "I am Song Zixuan of the East Sea Bound Dragon Office. We have received reports accusing you of multiple crimes, including premeditated murder and organizing gang-related activities that disrupt social order. The Bound Dragon Office has been watching you for a long time. Today, the evidence is conclusive. Hong Wu, surrender and cooperate with our investigation. You can't run."
"Song Zixuan!?" Hong Wu's eyes glinted as he stared at her. "I've heard of you. You're not even a Dragon Captain, yet you dare to oppose me?"
Two members of the Bound Dragon Office stood behind Song Zixuan. She spoke indifferently, "We enforce the law for the people. You're a suspect in numerous illegal activities, and arresting you is our duty to the people of East Sea. So why wouldn't I oppose you? In other words, the Hong Wu of today is not the Boss Hong of the past. Just because I couldn't arrest you then doesn't mean I can't now."
"Good, good, good!" Hong Wu's eyes flashed as he sneered. "How the mighty have fallen. Back in my day, not even the Commander of your Bound Dragon Office dared to speak to me this way. To think a mere Dragon Captain has the gall to arrest me now... Heh heh, how ironic."
"Enough talk," Song Zixuan said impatiently. "Will you surrender, or will we have to force you?"
His eyes looking as if they might pop from their sockets, Hong Wu roared, "I may not be a match for Zhao Dong, but you think I'm not a match for you? If you're looking to die, I'll be happy to oblige!"
With that, Hong Wu stepped forward, a violent aura erupting from him. "What are you waiting for? Get them!" he yelled, striking first while signaling his men to attack with him.
"Resisting arrest only adds to your crimes!" Song Zixuan gritted her teeth and lashed out with a whip kick at Hong Wu.
The cabin space was cramped, leaving Hong Wu no room to dodge. He had to take the blow head-on. The kick made him grimace in pain, but unwilling to be outdone, he gathered Spiritual Energy in his fist and threw a punch straight at Song Zixuan's heart.
Song Zixuan's expression flickered. She sidestepped the blow and drove her elbow into Hong Wu's abdomen.
Hong Wu grunted in pain, cold sweat beading on his forehead. Song Zixuan snorted and pressed her advantage, unleashing a relentless barrage of fists and feet that rained down on him. He took several blows and spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Fuck your mother! I'll kill you!" Hong Wu's eyes were bloodshot. As a regional overlord, when had he ever been humiliated like this? And by a woman, no less!
He suddenly pulled a dagger from his sleeve and slashed it toward Song Zixuan.
Song Zixuan's expression changed. Clenching her teeth, she punched at his wrist. Hong Wu deftly dodged, plunging the dagger straight toward her heart. Desperately, Song Zixuan grabbed his wrist with both hands.
"Die!" Hong Wu roared, his face a ferocious mask as all his brute strength erupted.
Cold sweat beaded on Song Zixuan's forehead. As she watched the dagger inch closer, she felt her strength rapidly draining away.
Suddenly, Hong Wu let out a vicious laugh. He released his grip on the dagger and swung a ferocious punch directly at her chest.
Caught completely off guard, she took the punch squarely. A sweet taste rose in her throat as she coughed up a mouthful of blood, her body flying backward to crash heavily onto the floor. Sneering, Hong Wu rushed forward and kicked her in the abdomen. The kick made her cry out in pain, tears streaming down her face.
