Chapter 114: Fire Poison!

Zhao Dong was startled. He quickly steadied Han Chuxue and asked anxiously, "What's wrong?"

Han Chuxue's face was a mask of agony. Her features had turned deathly pale, her body was shaking uncontrollably, and she emanated a bone-chilling cold. Zhao Dong was shocked. How can her body be like this? It's the middle of summer!

Han Chuxue painfully opened her eyes and said weakly, "Zhao Dong, take me back… back to my villa. I have… I have medicine there."

Zhao Dong paused. "Where is your villa?"

Han Chuxue pointed toward a small villa behind them. Without a second thought, Zhao Dong swept her into his arms and rushed toward it.

At that moment, Han Chuxue was in unbearable pain, feeling as though she was trapped between ice and fire. Her consciousness was a blur, but when she suddenly felt Zhao Dong's embrace, an inexplicable feeling stirred in her heart. She lifted her eyelids to look at him and saw his determined expression, his face etched with worry. Han Chuxue bit her lip, a complex emotion flickering in her eyes.

Soon, they arrived at her villa. Zhao Dong asked urgently, "Where's the medicine?"

"In my bedroom upstairs," Han Chuxue pointed. "Put me down, I… I'll go up myself."

"In your condition? How could you possibly get up the stairs yourself?"

Without another word, Zhao Dong carried Han Chuxue upstairs. As they went up the stairs, their bodies were pressed close together. Feeling the strength of his arms and chest, Han Chuxue felt an unexpected blush creep up her cheeks, a flutter of embarrassment in her heart. They quickly reached the bedroom, which, to Zhao Dong's surprise, was decorated entirely in pink, giving it a cute atmosphere.

With a wry smile, he pushed aside any other thoughts and hurriedly placed Han Chuxue on the bed. "The medicine?"

Han Chuxue pointed to the bedside table. Zhao Dong rushed over to search it and quickly found several black pills. He furrowed his brow. "Is this it?"

Her breathing was faint, as if her life was hanging by a thread. She nodded weakly, her body still trembling.

Zhao Dong quickly slipped a pill between her pink lips and brought over a glass of water, supporting her as she drank. Han Chuxue wanted to refuse, not wanting such close contact with him, but she didn't even have the strength to sit up and had to rely completely on his support. After she swallowed the pill, some color returned to her face, and a bit of strength flowed back into her limbs.

Zhao Dong put down the glass and looked at her. "What's going on with your health?"

Half-lying on the bed, Han Chuxue managed a pale smile. "It's an old problem. It started three years ago. I often get these chills."

Zhao Dong frowned and was silent for a moment before saying, "Do you want me to check your pulse?"

Han Chuxue bit her lip and shook her head slightly. "There's no need. You won't be able to cure it. Over the years, the Han Family has consulted countless doctors, but none of them could do anything."

"What are the specific symptoms?"

Han Chuxue was visibly embarrassed and hesitated to answer. Zhao Dong frowned. "There's no need to be shy with me. You saw that I cured your grandfather. I might not be a miracle doctor, but I can still figure some things out. Tell me."

After a moment's hesitation, Han Chuxue said awkwardly, "The symptoms… when I have my period… it's extremely painful. Also, I get these random episodes where one side of my body feels burning hot and the other feels ice-cold. At night, especially in the early morning, my entire body is wracked with intense pain. I have to endure it every single night before I can fall asleep."

Zhao Dong raised an eyebrow. "You've been going through this for three years?"

Han Chuxue nodded faintly, her face clouded with sadness. Zhao Dong felt a pang of sympathy; the mere description of her symptoms sounded excruciating. He hesitated, then said, "Let me take a look at your condition."

Han Chuxue glanced at him, sighed, and extended her fair, slender arm. "Fine, take a look. But curing it is impossible."

Zhao Dong said nothing, immediately placing his fingers on her wrist to take her pulse. His brow furrowed tightly as he closed his eyes. Han Chuxue watched his expression anxiously. Though she held no hope for a cure, she couldn't help but feel nervous.

A moment later, Zhao Dong's eyes snapped open. He exclaimed in shock, "Poison!"

Han Chuxue's face turned stark white. "What?!"

His expression was more serious than ever. "The Han Family must have offended someone. Your symptoms are identical to those of Cold Fire Poison!"

Zhao Dong wasn't just guessing. When he took her pulse, he found it to be completely chaotic. The meridians in her body were in extreme disarray, as if a scorching energy and a frigid one were violently clashing within her. This was unmistakably Cold Fire Poison.

"Cold Fire Poison is very rare and difficult to handle, but there are ways to treat it. But why would you have been afflicted with it in the first place?"

Han Chuxue's face was a mask of shock. "Cold Fire Poison? How… how is that possible? I've had these symptoms for years!"

Zhao Dong fell silent, speculating internally. It couldn't be a coincidence that both Han Chuxue and Han Qingtian were poisoned. Someone must be behind this!

Seeing his grave expression, Han Chuxue panicked. "Zhao Dong, our Han Family hasn't offended anyone! Don't scare me."

"I'm just guessing, so don't overthink it," Zhao Dong said reassuringly. "I can temporarily suppress the poison for you, but a complete cure requires some specific herbs. I'll write you a list later. Once you find them, I can treat you properly."

Han Chuxue stared at him blankly, at a loss for words. She lowered her head, her gaze falling. "Why… why are you helping me?"

Zhao Dong smiled. "Guess."

"I can't guess..."

Zhao Dong scratched his head and said with a perfectly straight face, "You slept with me, so strictly speaking, you're my woman. What's wrong with me helping you?"

Han Chuxue paused while running a hand through her hair. A deep, indignant blush instantly spread across her face. The next second, her eyes went wide. She grabbed a pillow and hurled it at him. "Go to hell!"

Zhao Dong dodged it with a laugh and turned to leave. Just as he was about to go, Han Chuxue let out a muffled groan, clutching her chest tightly as sweat beaded on her forehead.

He froze and immediately rushed back to her side. "What is it? Are you not feeling well?"

As he spoke, he instantly noticed something was terribly wrong. A red glint had appeared deep in her eyes, and her entire face was drenched in sweat, plastering her hair to her innocent face. She seemed to be enduring an unimaginable torment before collapsing onto the bed, gasping for breath.

Zhao Dong was alarmed. Han Chuxue looked as if she had just been pulled from water, completely soaked in sweat.

"Zhao Dong, it hurts… I feel awful…" Han Chuxue gritted out, her face contorted in pain.

His brow furrowed tightly as he quickly placed his hand on her forehead. In an instant, he gasped, "Why is your body so hot?"

Looking down, he saw that her exposed skin had turned red. Her entire body was as hot as a furnace.

"I… I don't know… It feels so horrible…"

Her body trembled violently, tears streaming down her face. Zhao Dong clenched his jaw, placed his palm on her, and began to transfer Spiritual Energy. He had expected it to suppress the turmoil in her body, but he could clearly feel the wisp of Spiritual Energy he sent over being repelled by something inside her. It had no effect at all.

Zhao Dong swiftly circulated the Mystic Sky Technique to investigate her internal state. A moment later, a grave expression appeared on his face. Han Chuxue's condition was an uncontrollable eruption of the fire poison! If it wasn't brought under control, the fire poison would spread throughout her entire body within half an hour, invading her limbs and organs, and even burning them to a crisp.

Han Chuxue painfully opened her eyes to look at him, her voice trembling. "Zhao Dong, what… what's happening to me? Why… why is it like this?"

Zhao Dong gritted his teeth. "This is an eruption of the fire poison. It's very dangerous."

"I… I feel like I'm going to die. I… I can't see anymore! Zhao Dong, what do I do? I don't want to die…" she gasped, tears of agony streaming from her eyes.

Zhao Dong was silent. To save her now, he had to resolve the fire poison raging within her. But her condition was unique; his Spiritual Energy was completely useless.

There was another way to eliminate the fire poison in her body. As the old saying goes, all things are governed by yin and yang. Her situation could be understood as the fire poison causing a complete disharmony of yin and yang in her body, which triggered all these problems. And the only solution… was to harmonize her yin and yang. The so-called 'harmonization' referred to the physical union between a man and a woman…

As the realization hit him, the corner of Zhao Dong's mouth twitched. I have a solution… But will Han Chuxue… ever accept it?

On the bed, Han Chuxue's painful moans continued unabated. Her body was scorching, tormented as if being roasted in a furnace. Her gaze was already starting to lose focus as the fire poison began to spread.

Zhao Dong looked at her and finally clenched his jaw. "Don't blame me. I'm doing this to save you!"

With that, he hesitated no longer and immediately prepared to treat her. A moment later, Han Chuxue's clothes fell to the floor, one piece at a time…

Zhao Dong's breath hitched. He hesitated for a second before saying in a low voice, "Don't blame me. I'm truly doing this to save you."

After speaking, he took one last, deep look at the woman beneath him and cast his hesitation aside.
