Chapter 87: Pan Wu's Revenge
Without a doubt, Zhao Qirou was bewitching, radiating an allure that no man could resist.
Zhao Dong was only human, a man, not a saint. As he looked at Zhao Qirou, his mind grew hazy. His blood seemed to ignite, rushing straight to the crown of his head.
"Qirou, you're my sister, I can't…"
Before Zhao Dong could finish, his mouth was sealed once more. This time, he distinctly felt Zhao Qirou's earnestness and affection, an intensity that nearly made him surrender completely.
Before he knew it, Zhao Qirou was left in nothing but her most intimate undergarment. It was black and edged with lace, barely concealing the beautiful, snowy-white contours of her body. The sight sent a shockwave through Zhao Dong's mind, as if his brain had just exploded.
Zhao Qirou lowered her eyelids, glancing shyly at Zhao Dong. She reached behind her back and, with a soft click, undid the clasp. As she let go, the last shred of fabric slid down her front, revealing to him all the enchanting beauty of a twenty-year-old woman.
Zhao Qirou embraced Zhao Dong, pressing her body against his as if trying to melt into him.
"Brother, take me… I'm willing to be yours."
Zhao Qirou offered her crimson lips. Zhao Dong felt as if he had fallen into a gentle vortex that was devouring his consciousness. His hands began to caress her tenderly, moving of their own accord.
Her body trembled softly, her eyes closed, her cheeks flushed with a pink blush. She felt blissful, expectant, and delighted, and her small hands began to wander to where they were supposed to.
In that moment, Zhao Dong's body shuddered violently. He snapped back to his senses, his eyes flying open to stare at Zhao Qirou.
Good heavens! What am I doing? This is my sister!
Instantly sobered, Zhao Dong forcefully pushed Zhao Qirou away. She stumbled and fell, sitting on the ground staring up at him as tears began to fall silently down her cheeks.
"Brother, do you dislike me that much?"
Zhao Dong exhaled heavily, his voice husky. "Qirou, you're my sister. I can't be irresponsible with you."
"But I'm willing! I like you!"
"Qirou, I'm sorry. I really… I really can't!"
Zhao Dong stood up and walked straight toward the door. At the doorway, he paused and turned his head back to look at her. Zhao Qirou sat on the ground, her face streaked with tears, biting her lip so fiercely to keep from crying out.
"Brother, I like you, I love you… I really want to be with you. We aren't blood-related, so why do you have so many reservations? I just want to be with you, to grow up with you. My heart has belonged to you for a long time…"
Zhao Qirou choked out the words through her tears. Sitting on the floor, she looked like an abandoned kitten, a pitiable and heart-wrenching sight. She had offered him her most precious gift, but he had rejected it. For any woman, this was the cruelest of blows.
Zhao Dong sighed softly, avoiding her gaze. "Qirou, you've had too much to drink. Get some rest. I'm leaving."
With those words, he left without looking back.
The sound of the door closing echoed through the room. Zhao Qirou's body trembled as her tears dripped silently onto the floor, and then her heart-rending sobs finally broke free.
"Brother, why can't you just accept me…"
Zhao Dong returned home, the image of Zhao Qirou's tear-stained face seared into his mind. He knew they shared no blood relation, and he knew her feelings for him ran deeper than that of a sister for a brother. But he didn't know how he truly felt about her. Their bond was like that of siblings, yet it was also so much more—an elusive, indefinable emotion that left him feeling conflicted. Otherwise, he wouldn't have chosen silence when she asked him that question earlier.
The thought of seeing Zhao Qirou with another man made his heart… genuinely ache.
That night, Zhao Dong chose not to sleep, instead circulating the Mystic Sky Technique until dawn. He awoke feeling refreshed and full of energy. After a moment of thought, he decided to call Zhao Qirou. He wondered if she had been dwelling on last night, hoping she had just been drunk and would forget everything once she woke up.
Just as he was about to dial, his cell phone suddenly rang. He picked it up and saw it was Zhao Qirou.
Isn't she embarrassed? How could she take the initiative to call me?
After a moment's hesitation, he answered. Just as he was about to speak, Zhao Qirou's incredibly frantic voice erupted from the other end.
"Brother, hurry and find a place to hide! Quick!"
Zhao Dong was bewildered. He frowned and asked, "What happened?"
"Don't ask so many questions, just do what I say! Hurry, take Uncle and Aunt and hide. Something terrible has happened!"
Her voice trembled, and it was obvious she was trying to keep it low. A sense of foreboding washed over Zhao Dong. He frowned. "No. You tell me what happened first, or I'm not hiding!"
On the other end, Zhao Qirou stomped her foot, her voice a panicked and helpless whisper. "The Pan Wu you beat up last night brought his dad to school today! His father is Pan Longxiao—we can't afford to cross him! He brought a lot of men and cars with him. Deng Yun and I are already hiding, but I'm worried they'll come for you. You have to take Uncle and Aunt and hide, quickly!"
Zhao Dong's brow furrowed. "This Pan Wu really doesn't know when to quit," he said coldly. "Looks like I shouldn't have let him go last night."
Hearing this, Zhao Qirou sounded like she was on the verge of tears. "Brother, please don't say that! You crippled his leg and arm; if I were his father, I'd be out for blood too! Okay, no more talking. Deng Yun and I are hiding in the school's abandoned warehouse. You just be care—"
Before she could finish, a furious roar exploded through the phone.
"Damn it, I found them! The two little bastards are over here!"
"What?! They were actually hiding in the abandoned warehouse? Men, get them! I'm going to cripple these two bastards today and get revenge for my son!"
Instantly, the sounds of Zhao Qirou and Deng Yun's terrified cries for help filled the line, mixed with the angry shouts of men.
Soon, the line went dead. Zhao Dong's heart plummeted to the depths, and his expression changed drastically.
This is bad. They found Zhao Qirou and Deng Yun. Those two girls are utterly defenseless. Please, let nothing happen to them today!
Frantic, Zhao Dong shot out of his house and raced toward East Sea University. As he neared the campus, he was stunned by the scene at the main gate. Parked at the entrance were dozens of black luxury cars: Mercedes-Benz, Audis, BMWs, a Bentley, and even a Rolls-Royce.
