Mo Fan at his best – Versatile Mage

Chapter 187: Manyan is developing

That single order caused the already wavering morale of the Lu Family to collapse even further.

Back on the battlefield, Mo Fan did not know the exact contents of the call, but he could already sense the change. Some of the Lu Family mages had become hesitant. Their killing intent was no longer as united as before.

Zhang Xiaohou noticed it too. He lowered his voice and said, “Brother Fan, Commander in Chief Hua has already intervened from the military side. No one from the main line dares move rashly now. The ones still fighting here are basically Lu Xin’s diehards.”

Mo Fan’s eyes flashed.

So that was it.

Then there was no need to hold back anymore.

Zhao Manyan, with the Water Avoiding Pearl floating above his head, stepped forward and laughed arrogantly. “Good. Then let’s wipe out the stubborn ones.”

He thrust both hands outward. The Water Avoiding Pearl burst with light again, and several enormous torrents intertwined into one, forming a giant tide wall that swept across the battlefield. Under its amplification, Zhao Manyan’s Water Element had completely exceeded its normal limits. Every Violent Wave he cast was like a flood dragon rampaging through the forest, battering apart spell formations and washing dozens of Lu Family mages off their feet.

At the same time, Zhang Xiaohou moved like a green shadow through the battlefield. He used Wind Trail to close distance instantly, then planted Rock Barriers in the paths of fleeing enemies, cutting apart their formation and forcing them into Mo Fan’s attack range. Whenever hidden assassins tried to emerge from underground or from the flanks, Xiaohou was always there first, either with Earth Wave to throw off their footing or with Wind Disc to force them back.

He was not the strongest person there, but his role was incredibly important. Calm, precise, and loyal as ever, he quietly tied the whole battlefield together.

Mo Fan looked at the two beside him, one flamboyant and arrogant, one steady and dependable, and the killing intent in his chest somehow became even colder.

He was not alone.

Little Flame Belle rose from his body in a burst of calamity fire, while Little Lightning Belle answered with crackling arcs of purple black lightning around his arms. The two elemental spirits did not fuse, but their power revolved around him together, one scorching, one violent, making his aura explode upward.

“Since you all came, then let’s finish this properly.”

Zhao Manyan grinned. “That’s what I wanted to hear.”

Zhang Xiaohou’s gaze turned sharp. “Brother Fan, I’ll open the path.”

The next moment, the three of them moved at once.

Zhao Manyan used the Water Avoiding Pearl to create a moving domain of flowing water, protecting their side while smashing apart enemy spell chains. Zhang Xiaohou tore openings through the enemy ranks with Wind Trail and Wind Disc, then blocked counterattacks with Rock Barrier after Rock Barrier. And Mo Fan, standing at the very front, became the blade.

Everywhere he went, fire and lightning exploded together. Fiery Fist smashed apart defensive lines. Purple black lightning pierced through hidden killers. Space Element force twisted the air and crushed anyone trying to escape. Under the layered support of Zhao Manyan and Zhang Xiaohou, Mo Fan’s offense became even more terrifying than before.

The Lu Family formation, which had barely managed to stall him earlier, now began collapsing completely.

Some elders roared for everyone to hold the line, but the pressure was already gone. The main clan no longer backed them. The military had already spoken. Hua Zhanhong himself had drawn the line.

In the end, they were only a doomed branch trying to stop three people who had truly chosen to fight to the bitter end.

And among those three, the one at the very center was Mo Fan.

A terrifying pressure suddenly descended from above, so vast and ancient that the entire Lu Clan courtyard seemed to sink several inches into the ground. The green fog that had blanketed the estate did not scatter. Instead, it thickened, coiling layer after layer like an emerald prison.

The Totem Black Serpent had made its move.

Its true body remained hidden beyond the mist, but its presence alone was enough to make the world tremble. A cold, ancient gaze seemed to fall from the clouds, locking onto Lu Xin like a predator staring at a dying insect. The dense green fog wrapped around the courtyard, sealing every direction and cutting off all escape routes.

Across from Mo Fan, Lu Xin’s expression changed.

He had originally planned to lure the Totem Black Serpent into attacking, then use that as evidence to escalate the situation and drag Mo Fan down with him. If a Totem Beast openly slaughtered a Councilman, even Hua Zhanhong would need to deal with the consequences carefully.

But the serpent did not attack.

It only pressured.

That was even more terrifying.

The Black Totem Snake’s ancient aura pressed down on Lu Xin’s spiritual world like a mountain range. His Space Element trembled violently, and the silver radiance around him flickered in and out, no longer stable. His Star Palace could barely form before being crushed apart by that overwhelming beast pressure.

Lu Xin finally understood.

The serpent was not here to kill him. It was here to make sure he could not run.

Mo Fan stepped forward slowly, the purple black lightning around his body growing denser. Little Lightning Belle’s childlike but furious presence stirred within his spiritual world, responding to his killing intent. Arcs of lightning crawled across Mo Fan’s skin, then rose behind him like countless dark serpents climbing toward the sky.

Lu Xin’s pupils shrank. “Lightning Element...”

The intelligence he had received said Mo Fan was a multi element monster, but seeing it in person was different. Fire, Shadow, Space, Summoning, and now this terrifying Lightning. Every element he revealed seemed more violent than the last.

Mo Fan hovered in the air, overlooking the ground below. His voice was calm, but cold enough to freeze blood.

“There’s far too much you don’t know.”

The sky suddenly darkened.

It was not night. It was as if the heavens themselves had been dragged into a storm.

Purple black clouds gathered above the Lu Clan courtyard, layer upon layer, spiraling into a vast vortex. Within the vortex, thunderous rumbles rolled like heavenly drums, and countless streaks of calamity lightning flashed silently inside the storm. The air became heavy, sharp, and suffocating. Every mage present felt their hair stand on end, their spiritual worlds shaking uncontrollably.

Little Lightning Belle appeared above Mo Fan’s shoulder in a flicker of purple black light. Her small figure was wrapped in arcs of lightning, her eyes filled with childish fury. She pointed at Lu Xin as if accusing him, and the lightning in the sky answered.

Mo Fan raised one hand.

The storm obeyed.

“Throne of the Nightstorm.”

The moment those words fell, the entire sky collapsed into a purple black domain.

A colossal throne of lightning slowly formed within the heart of the storm. It was not solid, yet it carried a majesty that made every soul tremble. The throne seemed carved from night itself, its edges shaped by roaring lightning, its back rising like the spine of a divine beast. Around it, thousands of lightning chains descended from the clouds, piercing into the ground and locking the Lu Clan courtyard inside a cage of judgment.

Lu Xin tried to move.

He could not.

The Black Totem Snake’s pressure held down his body and spiritual world, while the Throne of the Nightstorm locked onto his soul. Space around him twisted, but every attempt to shift position was shattered by lightning. His silver spatial brilliance sparked weakly, only to be swallowed by the night storm above.

“This is impossible!” Lu Xin roared, his voice cracking. “You’re only an Advanced Mage!”

Mo Fan’s eyes glowed purple black. Little Lightning Belle’s power poured into him without restraint, not fusing with Little Flame Belle, but linking directly to his Lightning Element. The newborn calamity spirit became the core of the storm, while Mo Fan became the one seated upon its judgment.

The throne in the clouds trembled.

Then, an enormous lightning spear slowly descended from above it.

It was the Calamity Lightning: Heavenly Tribulation Spear, but strengthened by the throne domain until it no longer resembled a single execution strike. It had become the decree of an entire storm kingdom.

Extreme penetration. Internal explosive destruction. Chain devastation.

All three destructive properties gathered into one point.

Lu Xin screamed and forcefully ignited his Super level power. Silver light erupted from his body, forming layers of spatial barriers around him. He tried to tear open a void passage and escape the courtyard, but the Totem Black Serpent’s pressure immediately surged down. The green fog tightened. The void passage cracked before it could open.

Then the lightning chains moved.

One chain pierced through Lu Xin’s shoulder. Another pierced through his leg. Another wrapped around his waist. More and more chains descended, nailing him in place like a criminal awaiting execution beneath a divine court.

The surrounding Lu Clan members fell to their knees, faces pale.

No one dared to help.

No one could help.

Mo Fan lowered his hand.

“Fall.”

Whoosh!

The Heavenly Tribulation Spear descended.

For an instant, there was no sound.

The world became pure purple black.

The spear pierced straight through Lu Xin’s spatial barriers. The first layer shattered. The second layer shattered. The third layer was torn open as if made of paper. The spear entered his chest, but did not simply pass through. It exploded inside him.

Lu Xin’s body stiffened.

His eyes widened, filled with disbelief.

In the next moment, countless branching arcs of lightning erupted from within his body, tearing through his meridians, bones, organs, and spiritual world. His Super level aura collapsed violently. His Space Element Star Palace cracked apart piece by piece, and the backlash caused silver blood like light to burst from his pores.

Boom!

The chain devastation spread outward.

Every Lu Clan mage who had participated in targeting Mo Fan, Ding Yumian, or the people around him was struck by the spreading calamity lightning. The lightning did not blindly slaughter the weak or innocent. Guided by Mo Fan’s spiritual sense and Little Lightning Belle’s connection, it followed killing intent, hostility, and blood debt.

Those who had only stood by in fear were thrown back, paralyzed but alive.

Those who had acted against him were pierced through.

One after another, purple black lightning flowers bloomed across the courtyard. Screams rose and fell, swallowed by the roar of the night storm.

The Totem Black Serpent’s fog continued to press down silently, preventing any escape. It did not need to bite, coil, or release poison. Its pressure alone made the Lu Clan feel as though an ancient god had lowered its head over them.

Lu Xin struggled to raise his head. His face had already lost all color. “Mo... Fan...”

Mo Fan looked down at him without pity.

“When you touched the people around me, this was already decided.”

Little Lightning Belle let out a sharp cry.

The throne in the storm shone brighter.

The lightning inside Lu Xin detonated a second time.

This time, the destruction reached his soul.

His body was swallowed by purple black radiance, then disintegrated into ash beneath the Heavenly Tribulation Spear. The ground beneath him collapsed into a crater shaped like a lightning mark, deep and smoking, filled with traces of spatial cracks that snapped and vanished one by one.

When everything settled, the Throne of the Nightstorm slowly faded from the sky.

The lightning chains withdrew. The storm clouds scattered. Little Lightning Belle floated beside Mo Fan, her small body dimmer than before, clearly exhausted, but her eyes still carried fierce satisfaction. Mo Fan reached out and let her return to his spiritual world.

The green fog also began to retreat.

The Totem Black Serpent withdrew its pressure, pulling the mist back into the Totem Pearl. From beginning to end, it had not killed a single person. Yet everyone present knew that without its suppression, Lu Xin might have escaped, or at least forced Mo Fan into a much harder battle.

Outside the courtyard, Zhao Manyan lowered the Water Avoiding Pearl and swallowed hard.

“Damn... Brother Fan, that Lightning Belle of yours is getting more and more ridiculous.”

Zhang Xiaohou stood nearby, his Wind and Earth magic still circulating around him. His expression was steady, but even he could not hide the shock in his eyes.

“Brother Fan... that attack just now was already beyond normal Advanced magic.”

Mo Fan landed slowly, his breathing slightly uneven. The Throne of the Nightstorm had consumed an enormous amount of Lightning Element magic energy, and Little Lightning Belle’s power had also been drained heavily. Even with his high proficiency, using that kind of ultimate was not something he could throw around casually.

But the result was worth it.

The Lu Clan’s courtyard was silent.

Lu Xin was gone.

The direct branch that had dared to target Ding Yumian, his father, and the people around him had been crushed completely.

Mo Fan looked over the shattered estate, his expression cold and unreadable.

“Now it’s settled.”
