Mo Fan at his best – Versatile Mage

Chapter 185: Bloodbath

After being violently beaten, Lu Zhantian was still alive, though his twisted face was filled with deep fear. He never imagined that, as a Super Mage, he would be so utterly helpless in front of Mo Fan.

It was not that Lu Zhantian had no strength. As the head of the North Rain Mountain Tribunal, he was still a genuine Super Mage, someone who could normally crush most Advanced Mages with ease. But the moment Mo Fan stepped into Pearl Academy, Lu Zhantian’s power had already been locked down by two terrifying presences.

Director Fu stood behind Mo Fan with a furious expression, his peak Super Mage aura pressing down like a mountain. The invisible pressure wrapped around Lu Zhantian’s body, slowing his mana circulation and making every attempt to form a Star Palace feel like dragging chains through mud.

Dean Xiao was even more terrifying. On the surface, he looked like an ordinary academy dean, calm and silent, but in truth, he was a three element Forbidden Mage. His aura did not need to erupt violently. It simply descended over the entire area like the sky itself had lowered, pressing down on Lu Zhantian’s spiritual world and freezing his elemental control.

Under the combined pressure of a peak Super Mage and a three element Forbidden Mage, Lu Zhantian’s strength was sealed before he could even display it. His Wind Element stirred, but the stars refused to align. His spiritual world trembled, but his magic would not obey. He could see Mo Fan moving, could sense the danger, but his body and cultivation were trapped beneath two invisible mountains.

Mo Fan’s attack was only the blade that landed. Dean Xiao and Director Fu were the ones who had already pinned Lu Zhantian to the chopping block.

Thinking back to the miserable state of his younger brother, Lu Yilin, Lu Zhantian suddenly realized his entire bloodline must have kicked an iron plate that should never have been provoked.

Still trying to struggle, he coughed up blood and hoarsely shouted, “What are you all waiting for? Attack him now!”

Only then did the twenty plus direct line Tribunal members awaken from their stupor. They rushed forward to encircle Mo Fan, laying down a heavenly net. The skies were full of Mages.

One of the Lu Clan disciples stepped forward. Lu Xuefeng, shouting fiercely though inwardly terrified, said, “Mo Fan, have you gone mad? Attacking the Chief Tribunal Officer without authorization is a grave crime! You’re finished, do you understand? Release Chief Lu immediately!”

At this moment, Dean Xiao, Director Fu, and even the student Mages who had been blocking the North Mountain Tribunal finally came to their senses.

Director Fu quickly said, “Mo Fan, don’t act impulsively. Ding Yumian is fine. If you really kill him, you’ll be cutting yourself off from all of Nine Provinces!”

With someone leading the way, most people gathered the courage to try persuading him.

Only Dean Xiao remained silent. Stroking his beard, his gaze toward Mo Fan carried a trace of admiration. Wasn’t every peerless powerhouse forged through blood and battle? What was the big deal about eliminating a corrupt Tribunal leader? The situation was far from as serious as they feared.

Besides, Dean Xiao understood better than anyone else. Lu Zhantian had already crossed Mo Fan’s bottom line.

Hearing this, Mo Fan remained unmoved, coldly sweeping his gaze across the sky full of Tribunal members.

Suddenly, Lu Zhantian realized what Mo Fan was about to do and screamed, “Retreat now! Go get my father, Councilman Lu Xin!”

Everyone froze for a moment, and then their vision turned purple black.

The sky above Pearl Academy darkened. A vast web of calamity lightning spread outward like the judgment of heaven. One after another, the Tribunal members in the sky stiffened, their defensive magic shattering instantly as arcs of lightning pierced through their bodies.

Through the dark tinted world, the lightning appeared almost black, exuding a sacred aura of vengeance.

More than half of the Tribunal members fell instantly. The few who barely survived stood frozen in terror, their faces pale, their robes torn, and their bodies trembling from the lightning that still crawled across their skin.

“Aaah!!”

Even Tribunal members known for their strong mental fortitude screamed, trembling and fleeing in all directions.

Mo Fan paid no attention to the survivors. He had never been one to slaughter indiscriminately. Using his Shadow Element perception and Space Element awareness, he identified the Lu Clan’s direct line members among the Tribunal and eliminated only those with malevolent intent.

He activated a thought. Space Element and Lightning Element combined into precision strikes. Not a single targeted Lu Clan member escaped. To him, a group of Intermediate and ordinary Advanced Mages was utterly fragile.

Everyone watching nearby was splashed by the shockwaves. Their legs weakened and trembled. None of them had expected Mo Fan would really dare to kill.

“So ruthless. I thought Mo Fan was already terrifying when he killed the Black Vatican students during the school opening, but this... this is on a whole other level.”

Buzz buzz buzz!

At that moment, the calamity flames and purple black lightning around Mo Fan’s body slowly faded. Little Flame Belle’s possession state withdrew, and Little Lightning Belle’s power also retreated back into his spiritual world. In less than half a minute, a terrifying amount of magical energy had been consumed. He still had another big fight ahead, so he needed to conserve energy.

He lowered his gaze to the incapacitated Lu Zhantian below, his expression emotionless.

Just a mere single element Super Mage who had only recently stepped into the realm. Worse still, his element was Wind, which was hardly known for killing power. Under the suppression of Director Fu and Dean Xiao, Lu Zhantian had not even been able to properly cast Super Magic. Being defeated was completely expected.

“So you’re the one who came up with the plan to target Ding Yumian... even involving her family. Very well. I’ll make your entire branch pay.”

Mo Fan’s voice was cruel, his eyes gleaming with purple black light. Lightning curled around his fingers, while his Shadow Element spread across the ground like a living darkness.

Amid Lu Zhantian’s shrieks, Mo Fan’s lightning struck into his spiritual world, destroying his ability to resist. His body collapsed to the ground, twitching and broken, his mind filled with terror.

Mo Fan then slowly walked to the mutilated remains of the now mindless Lu Yilin, lifted him with one hand, and turned to the crowd to ask, “Where is the Lu Clan’s stronghold?”

His words shocked everyone. Was he not going to stop even now? Marching straight into a clan’s main stronghold? That bold?

The person questioned stammered, “In the suburb town of Manye.”

Upon hearing this, Mo Fan turned and left, his steps firm and resolute, disappearing into the darkness heading directly toward the Lu Clan stronghold.

After several hours of delay, the Lu Clan finally received word.

Councilman Lu Xin was a middle aged man with a wooden expression. One piece of bad news after another arrived, and he hoarsely asked in a deep voice, “Yilin and Zhantian... have they really both fallen?”

A trembling subordinate beside him answered, “Yes, both have unfortunately fallen.”

Lu Xin remained silent for a moment, the veins on his forehead bulging violently, his fists clenched tightly. Suddenly, he slammed the table and roared at the elders and subordinates around him, “What are you all doing?! Go get rid of Mo Fan right now!”

“He’s already killed his way to our doorstep. I want him buried with my sons!”

As his voice fell, the elders fell silent, then quickly exited to dispatch people to intercept.

Inside the room, Lu Xin had long gone mad after the deaths of his two sons. After a moment of contemplation, he called his elder brother Lu Kun.

“Hello, big brother. Zhantian and Yilin...”

“Enough, don’t say another word.”

To his surprise, Lu Kun on the other end of the line interrupted him coldly, saying, “Lu Xin, you’ve disappointed me deeply. Even if you desperately wanted Lu Yilin in the National Team, you shouldn’t have resorted to such means.”

“The higher ups are furious. The Lu Family has suffered heavy losses. As for your side, I will not get involved. Not only that, I’ve already transferred all the Super Mages of the Lu Family away. The mess your branch made, your branch will bear the consequences.”

Lu Kun finished in one breath, then paused and added, “All I can do is use my connections to plead for your life. But that’s only if you no longer target Mo Fan.”

With that, the call ended decisively.

Lu Xin stood there, face twisted, clenching his teeth until blood oozed out, roaring, “I’m not willing!”

On the other side, Mo Fan was carrying Lu Yilin’s ruined body and walking openly on the street. Pedestrians on the bustling roads screamed and fled upon seeing him. Various videos were captured and spread across the internet.

Public opinion began to surge, gradually connecting with the street battle in the Imperial Capital.

Mo Fan was unaware. As he walked, his steps suddenly paused. The ground beneath him abruptly split open, and an Earth Element Mage’s hands reached out, trying to grab his legs with a twisted grin, intending to drag him underground and suffocate him alive.

Unfortunately, Mo Fan’s perception was sharp. His Space Element sensed the distortion in advance. He shifted aside and said coldly, “So you’ve finally come.”

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

The next moment, a piercing whistle rang out as the air split apart. Purple black lightning descended from the sky, piercing straight through the Lu Family mage from head to toe like divine punishment.

Then, Mo Fan slightly turned his body. The windows of the shops on both sides shattered as two figures shot out.

Wind Element and Shadow Element Mages flickered like phantoms, wielding poisoned magical daggers, attacking from both sides in a pincer strike toward Mo Fan.

Buzz!

The purple black lightning around Mo Fan flickered. Space Element force split apart in two directions. One left, one right, they precisely intercepted the two incoming daggers.

Clang!

The two Lu Family assassins retreated while speaking rapidly, “Be careful, it’s his Space Element!”

Just as their words fell, they felt a chill on their necks. Covering their throats, they let out hoarse gasps and collapsed limply, already lifeless.

Mo Fan lowered his hand. A cold gleam of Space Element light faded from his fingertips, flinging off the blood.

Effortlessly eliminating three mages, he remained expressionless, holding onto Lu Yilin’s ruined body with one arm as he continued stepping toward the Lu Family’s stronghold.
