Chapter 164: Mo Fan’s Courage
Normally, they would subconsciously figure out a way to handle the situation in front of them to guarantee their survival. However, they had lost the ability to think after seeing the skeleton army. Their minds had gone blank.
"Xiaohou Go FORWARD, I NEED YOU to try and find the exit!" Mo Fan’s voice awakened Xiaohou who was lost in a daze.
Zhang Xiaohou did not hesitate. They immediately turned around and ran.
The undead army was in front. There was still room behind them, at least it would give them more time before they were devoured by the army skeleton.
The Snow Frost Star Wolf carried Zhang Xiaohou at first, but Zhang Xiaohou decided that Wind Track and Earth Wave to search for any possible way out through the Space of Death was better.
However, Zhang Xiaohou realized something out of place. He turned around and saw Mo Fan still standing in the same place.
“Brother Fan!”
Zhang Xiaohou shouted loudly, but Mo Fan did not move.
He simply stood there facing the ocean of skeletons, his eyes cold and sharp, without a trace of retreat.
“I’ve had enough of being chased around by things stronger than me. Since there’s no way out, then this is perfect. Let me see exactly how powerful I am now!” Mo Fan’s voice carried across the roars of the undead.
He did not sound desperate.
He did not sound like a man forcing himself to stay behind.
He sounded confident.
Coldly confident.
The truth was, Mo Fan already knew there was no escape. They had checked the direction they came from. There was no exit there, and the space itself was limited. If they tried to force their way into the false distance outside the boundary, what awaited them would only be the terrifying storm of distorted space.
Since there was no way to run...
Then he would kill.
This was no longer just a desperate struggle.
This was a test.
A test of how strong he truly had become after reaching the Advanced level.
“Xiaohou, go look for the exit. I’ll hold them here. Don’t waste time. If there really is a way out, find it!” Mo Fan said.
“Brother Fan, I’m staying!” Zhang Xiaohou immediately shouted back.
Mo Fan finally turned his head slightly, the corners of his mouth lifting into a wild smile.
“Stop talking nonsense. I’m not planning to die here. I just want to see whether these things are worthy of forcing me to go all out!”
Zhang Xiaohou froze slightly.
He had known Mo Fan for a long time.
He could tell immediately that Mo Fan was serious.
This was not sacrifice.
This was not despair.
Mo Fan genuinely wanted to fight!
The army of skeletons was huge. They could trample a mountain range into flat land.
More than twenty thousand glowing eyes were densely clustered together. It was Mo Fan’s first time being looked at by so many pairs of eyes at once. Their murderous aura was strong enough to freeze the air. Those with weaker spirits would have their minds ripped apart on the spot!
But Mo Fan’s expression only grew more excited.
If God wanted him dead, he would throw a fist at Him.
Let alone these undead!
The skeleton tide surged forward.
The ground trembled violently.
Mo Fan no longer held anything back.
A silver glow flashed.
The Snow Frost Star Wolf appeared first.
Wolfie landed heavily beside Mo Fan, his icy blue eyes sweeping across the undead horde with pure contempt. His body was no longer the same as before. He had already stepped into the Commander level. The instant he appeared, an oppressive bloodline pressure spread outward like a frost covered mountain collapsing onto the battlefield.
The front ranks of skeletons actually slowed.
Some of the weaker undead even trembled instinctively.
This was the suppression of an Emperor bloodline.
This was the aura of a true apex predator.
Wolfie lowered his body slightly, the frost around his claws spreading across the rocky ground, his gaze proud and merciless. He was not looking at an army.
He was looking at prey.
Immediately after, two small figures appeared beside Mo Fan.
Little Flame Belle floated to his left.
Lightning Belle floated to his right.
The two little elemental spirits were both already in the advancing Warrior stage, yet the aura each of them released was far stronger than ordinary Warrior creatures. One burned with pure calamity fire, the other crackled with a violent and unstable calamity lightning. They hovered near Mo Fan like two little empresses of destruction, neither afraid of the skeleton sea ahead.
Little Flame Belle’s cheeks were puffed up, her eyes full of unwilling fury.
Lightning Belle’s tiny body was wrapped in flickering purple black arcs, her childlike face unusually serious as if she understood that this was a real battlefield.
Mo Fan looked at the three beings beside him and the wild confidence in his chest rose even further.
“Good. Since you all came out, then let’s kill until this damned place shakes!”
The Snow Frost Star Wolf was the first to move.
He vanished like a white silver phantom.
A Skeleton General in the front row had only just raised its bone saber when Wolfie’s claw smashed into its chest. The force was terrifying. The entire upper half of the skeleton exploded apart, while a terrifying ice force spread outward and froze the nearby undead rigid in place. Before the frozen skeletons could even react, Wolfie’s tail swept past like an icy whip and shattered them all into fragments.
Commander level strength.
Absolute dominance.
The skeleton tide was immediately torn open by a bloody path.
At the same time, Little Flame Belle opened her mouth and spat out a wave of calamity fire. The flames were not large at first, but the moment they landed among the skeletons, they spread like hungry demons. The bones of the undead were burned red, then black, then reduced to ash. The fire even clung to the death aura around them, making it almost impossible to extinguish.
Lightning Belle also attacked.
She raised her little hands and released a burst of calamity lightning. The lightning did not merely strike downward. It split apart into living arcs that crawled through the skeleton horde like vicious serpents. Every skeleton touched by it trembled violently, their bones cracking apart from within. Some had their skulls explode on the spot. Others were paralyzed, only to be crushed a second later by Wolfie or burned alive by Little Flame Belle’s fire.
The powers of the three were completely different from before.
One was supreme physical domination and bloodline suppression.
One was wildfire and destruction.
One was violent penetration and chain killing.
And in the middle of them all stood Mo Fan.
He took a deep breath.
Then his pupils flared with fire and lightning at the same time.
This was the test he wanted.
This was the battlefield that would measure the weight of his Advanced level.
He stepped forward alone.
No retreat.
No hesitation.
Only killing intent.
Behind him, Zhang Xiaohou clenched his fists tightly as he ran farther out to search for an exit, but he could not stop himself from turning back again and again.
What he saw left him stunned.
Mo Fan standing there with all three contracted beings around him looked less like a single human mage and more like the center of a natural disaster.
Only now did Zhang Xiaohou fully understand how terrifying Brother Fan had become.
And only now did he understand what Mo Fan meant by testing his true power.
Because this battlefield...
Really might not be enough to stop him.
