A Runaway Noble in a Town of Lonely Wives

Interlude: The Baker’s Share

Callis eased his hips backward, extracting himself with a soft, wet sound that cut through the quiet crackle of the cast-iron stove. He rested his hands on Lysa’s waist for another breath, allowing his racing pulse to settle. The sheer physical output of the morning had drained the last dregs of his adrenaline.

Lysa let out a long, shuddering exhale. She pushed her weight off the scarred wooden table, her legs trembling as she stood upright. She caught the hem of her heavy wool skirt and pulled it down over her thighs, smoothing the fabric over the wide, generous curve of her hips. A dark flush spread across her chest and neck, but she did not hide her face. She turned to look at him, her brown eyes heavy with the afterglow of her release.

Callis reached for the waist of his trousers. He hauled the rough wool up over his hips and fastened the brass buckle, wincing as the movement aggravated his bruised ribs. He leaned back in the oak chair, stretching his long legs out over the floorboards.

"You have a genuine gift, Lysa," Callis said, his voice carrying the rough gravel of exhaustion.

Lysa paused, her hands resting on her stomach. She tilted her head, a hesitant smile breaking through her shy demeanor. "A gift, Callis?"

"I spend my nights wearing high-carbon steel and fighting monsters that feel like frozen stone," Callis explained. He let his gaze drift down the front of her apron, settling on the plush, heavy flare of her lower half. "The frontier is nothing but sharp edges. Then I walk through that door, and you drop all that heavy, soft weight onto my lap."

He rested his elbow on the table, holding her gaze. "A man could survive a month in the freezing mud just for the promise of sinking into that fat ass of yours."

Lysa’s face burned a darker shade of crimson. She ducked her chin, a soft, involuntary laugh escaping her throat. She was used to being valued for her baking and her quiet temperament. Hearing the disciplined commander of a mercenary squad praise the sheer, unapologetic bulk of her body left her flustered but undeniably proud.

Yselle laughed from her place near the fire. The low, rumbling sound carried a heavy dose of vindication. She stood up from her stool, leaving her teacup on the mantle, and walked over to where Lysa stood.

"Her backside is a marvel," Yselle declared. She stepped up behind Lysa and rested a soot-stained hand on the curve of the baker's hip. "But it almost makes you overlook the front. She has the fattest, thickest pussy I have ever laid my hands on."

Callis nodded slowly in agreement, his eyes dropping back to the swell of Lysa's skirt. "It is incredible. Heavy and plush. It grips like a vice the second you push in."

"I spend half my afternoons buried in it," Yselle mused, dragging her thumb along the seam of Lysa's skirt. She looked over at Callis, a wicked, genuine curiosity in her pale eyes. "And I still cannot decide which hole is better. Sinking into that thick ass, or getting lost in that fat pussy."

Callis leaned his head back against the chair, genuinely considering the problem. "It is a difficult ledger to balance. The front is soft and wet; it swallows the cold right out of my bones. But the back takes the heavy depth perfectly."

"We will just have to keep testing both until we reach a definitive conclusion," Yselle decided, giving the heavy flesh of Lysa's backside a resounding slap that drew a startled squeak from the baker.

Lysa lowered her hands from her flushed face. Her shoulders shook with a mixture of embarrassment and deep, settling warmth. She looked between the mercenary and the forge-master, a shy but sturdy pride anchoring her posture.

"You are welcome to test either as often as you need," Lysa offered quietly, her voice warm and steady despite the blush burning her cheeks. "I am not going anywhere."

The men in her past had treated her shape as a flaw, a sign of gluttony or laziness. Inside The Stag & Ember, her softness was treated as a vital resource. It was celebrated and debated by the household that had finally made room for her.

Mara walked past the table, carrying a stack of clean ceramic plates. She offered a dry, amused snort at the conversation.

"A baker who eats her own bread builds a sturdy foundation," Mara observed, setting the plates on the shelving unit. She cast a fond, pragmatic look over her shoulder at the younger woman. "She spends her mornings hauling sacks of winter wheat and her afternoons letting you two stretch her out. It is no surprise she can accommodate you both without breaking a sweat."

Callis watched the three women interact, the sight anchoring him to the room. Seraphine Damaris offered him political expansion and silk-sheeted negotiations, but the merchant queen possessed a cold, calculating edge. Seraphine used sex as a ledger entry. Here, the intimacy was crude, generous, and sustaining.

"I need sleep," Callis announced, pushing himself up from the chair. His bruised ribs protested the movement, sending a sharp throb through his side, but his legs felt remarkably steady. "If the Guildmaster sends the Watch to complain about the market prices, tell them I am unconscious."

"They will not get past the front door," Mara promised, tossing a damp rag onto the chopping block. "Go rest, Callis. Lysa, smooth your apron and help me with the root cellars. Yselle, wash the soot off your hands before you touch my fresh bread."

Callis picked up his canvas satchel. He paused beside Lysa, reaching out to cup the back of her neck. He pressed a slow, deliberate kiss to her forehead, inhaling the scent of yeast and sweat clinging to her skin. He let his hand trail down her apron, sliding his palm over the thick, swollen mound between her thighs, and gave it one final, appreciative squeeze before he turned and headed for the stairs.
