Chapter 183. Burst into tears
The three bewildered people heard Hua Jin’s abrupt words and simultaneously stared at her. Qi Shi couldn’t help but slap her daughter’s arm, leaving Hua Jin dazed for a moment.
Did they really think the kids didn’t have a backup plan? Her father said everything. Were they angry because there was no backup plan, or because the kids were too bold?
Constantly putting oneself in danger was meant to teach the child a lesson.
Granny Hua watched her dear granddaughter get slapped and almost wanted to step forward in distress, but Grandpa Hua quickly stopped her with a glance.
Since the slap was done, going forward would just waste the lesson, hopefully letting her feel the pain and remember the lesson.
After so many years together, one glance was enough for Granny Hua to understand. She turned her face away and kept her pain to herself without stepping forward.
"That won’t do. Mom just wants you to be fine, nothing else. Confidence is good but don’t be overly confident. Remember that there are always people better than oneself, and the unexpected can happen. If something really happens, how do you expect mom to live?" Qi Shi’s eyes reddened, and tears began to fall as she touched her daughter’s slapped arm, feeling distressed.
Seeing her mother’s tears, Hua Jin panicked. She would rather her mother hit her a few more times than see her mother sad and crying. She quickly hugged her mother tightly.
