"Your stupid son is fighting Konstantin," Zula said to Ashton who was currently watching the remaining Grealor warriors train. They knew that the war they had been running away from for years was here.
Time had gone by a little too fast for their liking and no matter what they tried to do, they had to face their truths. The army that had left with Gabe was just a quarter of them all and with some of the rogues already in Grealor—
They needed to come up with a plan on what they would do if the Kawai Lycans found their way through the borders of Grealor.
Then again, it wasn’t just an assumption anymore. They didn’t have Tamiko who they could use against the mad king and they didn’t have Danny who they could use to coerce Tamiko into helping them out.
They had nothing but a bunch of warriors who were ready to fight and were undertrained. None of them had the skills to match that of the laziest Kawai warriors and it was appalling, to say the least.
Perhaps there would come a time when they would be better, but with the first battle in the long war already being fought in the free lands, it was just a matter of time before shit hit the fan and they wouldn’t have a way out.
"He is buying us time," Ashton said confidently and Zula snorted disrespectfully. It was like she couldn’t believe that this was what they had all been reduced to. It was not what they had risked everything for, but what was the point then?
Everything would be over anyway if the Lycans made their way here. The least they could do was secure Grealor and see to it that the innocents were protected first because there was no telling who could be attacked.
The logic of innocent women and children being saved in the war between the wolves and the Lycans was out the window the moment the Lycans figured out it was the Grealor wolves who had sliced up their mothers like pieces of chicken for an heir that they had no business taking because time had already bested them either way.
