"Killing is not your only talent, angel. Please remember that," Liana said and Zaffuto chuckled endearingly as he stared at her. He would fight and come back home to her. It was not up for debate anymore.
His life was hers and he would gladly give it up for her. He didn’t mind whatever the fuck was headed his way, but the fact that there had been threats against Liana had gotten him out of his comfort zone and into the battlefield.
"For you, Lili. For you, I would do anything. I promised you that before, and I make the same promise now, with the fates as our witnesses. I will come back before the sun sets today," Zaffuto said before he pulled her in for a kiss, tasting her honey scent before he left.
She was his greatest addiction and she knew it too.
Perhaps that was also why she was at ease with him leaving. He would come back because he had never once broken a promise to her in the years they had been mated and frankly, he wasn’t about to start today.
"Uhh... Zaffuto, we have to leave now," Lord Sadako said as he looked at the two love birds. He was already used to this, and honestly, he was glad that his brother had changed for her.
However, as he looked at the way Zaffuto was looking at Liana, Lord Sadako knew that his brother would be murdering a lot of people today. Sunset was a tight deadline, which meant that the king would be more brutal.
Oh, how Sadako felt terrible for the monsters that had tried to offend the Lycan queen. But then again, he won because they had to be taught a lesson. If they lost Liana, Kawai would never be livable.
Kawai would go back to being the hellhole it had been before and even worse. He knew it by heart because he had heard his brother’s thoughts as they were always sleepy, and Zaffuto was always, always plotting for vengeance.
He was a madman before, but now, he was the worst of all beasts. The worst part of it all was that he was a beast with humanity, and who could control his humanity. This was the worst version of the mad king and Sadako knew it too well.
