Chapter 266: Zaffuto Shuten Hinata, The Horror of Monsters
[ZULA]
[One Hundred and Fifty Years Ago]
For each day the sun rose in the realm, there was never an ounce of joy on any of the faces alive. There was never a chance to make life better. There was never a trial of what life was meant to be. Instead, there was only fear; paralyzing fear.
They feared him and they were right to do that. The man who never lived in the shadows, the man who never cared to look back at the damage he had done. He was the man who didn’t give a shit about anyone, save for the Lycan Lord beside him.
Many assumed he was in love with his Lord, but no one was brave enough to ask the right questions, because it was impossible to get the chance. He was always around and yet so far from everything. Humanity was the greatest flaw, he had always insisted.
And he shut it off, reigning terror on the realm that was supposed to be home to many. No one knew what was right and wrong. No one understood the difference between living and leaving. There was never a place to leave; never a place to live in.
Oh, he had made certain of that.
He was a monster. Not the good kind. Never the understandable kind.
He was bad. So bad that monsters lived in pure horror because of him. Monsters who knew what it meant to reign terror on others. Monsters whose only desire was to make the realm unlivable. He scared the shit out of them.
He had a lot of monsters answering to him. Hell, he was the king of the largest fleet of beastly monsters. The beasts who knew nothing of humanity. Beasts who lived to serve him, and please him, even if they hated him.
They wanted him gone, one too many times. They despised everything that had taken away every ounce of humanity in him. They hated what had turned him into this hell, but no one knew where the genesis was. Not even those who stood fairly close to him.
