Chapter 249: You Are, My Responibility

"I’m sorry," Kosta insisted as he stared at Tamiko. He knew that there had been better ways for them to handle each other and yet they had gotten to the worst point, the one that had resulted in them hurting each other.
Kosta was apologetic, he truly was and he had done his very best to express it in the heated kiss they had had moments ago. He feared what this would mean for him and Tamiko but at the same time, he was excited to see where the roads would be taking them.
It wasn’t ideally what anyone in his position would have considered, but he was a desperate man and Tamiko was his lifeline. Maybe he needed to be careful but what else was there for Kosta to lose?
He had already lost Tamiko once, and while the thought of going through that again scared the shit out of him, Kosta couldn’t deny that it was something he had to face eventually.
Maybe he was fucked for that and he wasn’t ever going to get a price, but what else was left for him to la anymore? What was life supposed to be like for him when shit had already started going sideways for him then? Would it be any better?
"I know," Tamiko said with a smile and Kosta let out a sigh of relief. He had been sure Tamko would stay mad at him for the rest of their lives but what he was seeing right now was a flicker of hope.
It was a reminder that he just didn’t need to be so pessimistic all the time.
Maybe this was a nudge in the right direction, but what direction would this be for the? What else was there that could speak about the shit they had endured over the past few days to make it seem like life wasn’t as terrible as it had always seemed then?
Perhaps when all of this was done and dusted, they would be able to live their lives like they had always wanted to. It wasn’t too much to ask, seeing as the states had once again wronged them.
But would anyone be responsible for this? Or was it just going to be another long day for the two Erasthais?
