Chapter 214: It Burned So Very Brightly
[KOSTA]
"It is alright, you know," Akila began and Igor stared at him curiously. He seemed to have a lot to say to Akila but his words were stuck in his throat. Yesterday was honestly a lot and Igor hadn’t quite processed the occurrences just yet.
He was fading as though it was supposed to make him feel any better but at the same time, it was making him feel like shit.
Maybe it was because he hadn’t yet accepted what had happened and he was turning his very best of act like he didn’t care one bit about the evening that had become his heart into greater voices.
That evening had fucked his sanity and he wasn’t about to deny it, but damn was Konstantin unsure of whether he could ever think of talking about that evening. He wasn’t ready, just not yet, and now his sidekick was opening a wound he wasn’t used to yet.
Perhaps this was the motivation he needed to make it happen, right?
"We all knew long before the announcement," Akila added and that got Igor’s attention. They may have been unwavering words, words that didn’t mean a lot at the moment, but to Konstantin, they were the words that sparked an interest in the life around him.
He had been waiting absentmindedly, wondering what the days that would come would be like for him, he was desperate for further, but as he worked through the bounties, he hadn’t been sure if he was ready to face any aspect of life he had run away from.
It wasn’t supposed to be hard, and it had proved a tad too challenging for him. This was not how shit was meant to hold onto him, and his subconscious was eating at him constantly. Life was truly a bitch and he couldn’t even fight back.
Fuck.
"What?" Igor responded, unsure of what he was supposed to say to that. He had been careful with all that he did. He had tried to be better than what was possible and yet it seemed like all of that wasn’t going to be as easy for him.
