"I believe my erasthai said something, Hanzo," Kosta reminded so casually as he wiped his sword on Hanzo’s clothes that are quickly getting covered in the man’s blood. The Lycan chief head chopped off the man’s hand like it was nothing.
"Wh—" Tamiko struggled to let out the shock of seeing this erasthai stand up for him for the first time back home, and the magnitude of it all slumping him even further into shock.
He had been used to Kosta letting off people with warnings, telling them to stay away, and making sure that no one ever came to hurt him.
Oh, but Tamiko had never expected that his barbaric erasthai would come to his defense... and that too, like that. This was insane, and for the first time, Tamiko didn’t know what to feel.
"It’s okay, my soul. You’re okay, no one’s going to hurt you as long as I’m here," Kosta reassured as he held onto Tamiko, pulling his erasthai into a gentle hug, one that spoke a thousand things at the same time, with the predominant feeling being safety.
He wanted Tamiko to feel safe with him and he wouldn’t let anyone fuck that up. Not even a high-born council member of the king’s inner circle. Kosta didn’t give a fuck about anyone right now.
"You... Your erasthai killed my son!!" Hanzo insisted and Kosta stared at him unbothered.
"And you know the chain of command to deal with that. You are a council member. You could have simply asked the warriors to arrest him for his crime, and he would be arraigned.
