Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts

Chapter 435 - 433: Progress! We Are Also Veridians Now

Lucy White and the others ate quickly and left, leaving the three of them to drink.

Faye Yardley was happy, but she found it difficult to understand the kind of exhilaration Master Silas was feeling, as if a lifelong ambition had been fulfilled.

Not understanding was fine. There was wine and food. It was a time to drink and be merry, for such moments of joy are rare.

Perhaps the thresholds of their Constitution and Spirit had been raised, because even though it was fine wine, they didn’t feel drunk at all after the three of them finished a bottle!

"Yardley, if you don’t have any more of this fine wine, some more of your homemade rice wine would be wonderful."

Zephyr Sterling said with a helpless air, "Master, Yardley’s young, and you shouldn’t drink too much anyway. It’s enough that we had a celebratory drink. You should eat more."

Then he said to Faye Yardley, "Yardley, don’t get any more wine. Some warm water would be fine."

Faye Yardley nodded. "How about some juice then? Freshly squeezed watermelon juice. It’s very sweet and refreshing. The Master looks truly happy."

"Yes, all the countries on Aquaria have merged into Veridia." Zephyr Sterling glanced at his master and said gently, "That means our junior uncle, who was always abroad, has effectively returned."

"Oh, so it’s a reunion with a kinsman. I’ll have you take two jugs of rice wine back with you. A reunion after a long separation calls for a drink. I’ll pack up some of the braised snacks for you as well; they’ll keep in the fridge."

Master Silas’s expression became subtle, a tangle of inexpressible conflict. Zephyr Sterling, however, directly thanked Faye and accepted her kind offer.

"Yardley, you must have learned an Internal Cultivation Method that suits you by now, haven’t you?"

Faye Yardley looked at the Master, wondering why he was asking.

"Our school has its own Internal Cultivation Methods, you know. What you were taught before was just the most basic introduction. With that foundation, if you want to learn our school’s true method, I can teach you."

"Huh? Why the sudden offer to teach me?"

Master Silas was very direct. "Because you’re number one. You should maintain that position and keep all that riffraff suppressed. I’d hate to see the top spot be taken by a foreigner, and the only way I can help you is with Inner Strength."

Faye Yardley threw up her hands. "It’s just Veridia now. There aren’t any other countries, so where are these foreigners you’re talking about?"

"Hmph. Those people won’t see it that way."

"It’s not a matter of how those people choose to see it. The system has directly labeled them as Veridian. They have no choice in the matter, whether they accept it or not."

Zephyr Sterling nodded in agreement. "Yardley’s right. Our junior uncle and his disciples are all Veridians now."

"Hah! They aren’t worthy!"

Faye Yardley just smiled. She wasn’t interested in whatever history of love and hate existed between them, but she was definitely interested in the Master wanting to teach her his Internal Cultivation Methods. After all, the Health Care Scripture wasn’t omnipotent.

’Learning a little more will give me something to reference if I ever want to improve on it in the future.’

Since one was willing to teach and the other was willing to learn, there was no point in continuing the meal. The Master and Faye Yardley moved to the side to start the lesson.

Zephyr Sterling watched the two people of action, then glanced at the blinking message from his junior uncle on the system and sighed. ’Since Master is unwilling to forgive Junior Uncle, I, as the eldest disciple, have already tried to persuade him once. I shouldn’t interfere any further.’

After a single glance at his junior uncle’s message, he had the system block him.

’No matter what, I will always stand firmly by my master’s side.’

"Mr. Langdon, after the Great Merger, I managed to contact my junior uncle. He was a very capable person back in the day, and he’s still impressive now. Before the merger, he was ranked in the top five of the individual combat power leaderboards in the Plum Kingdom." Henry Lewis couldn’t hide his excitement as he spoke to Logan Langdon.

’Compared to his own rigid master, it was natural to be more drawn to the junior uncle who had once been respected by so many powerful people.’

’Now that his junior uncle had taken the initiative to contact him, he absolutely had to seize this opportunity.’

After carefully considering the information, Logan Langdon patted Henry Lewis’s shoulder. "Mr. Lewis, go ahead and invite your junior uncle over for a visit. We’ll discuss everything else after I’ve met him."

Faye Yardley tried to guide the energy within her body along the new circulation pathways, but it kept automatically diverting back into the original meridians of the Health Care Scripture.

When she discovered it, she would forcibly correct it. It would go astray again, and she would correct it again...

This cycle repeated endlessly, and before she knew it, the sun of the next day was rising.

Finally, as the first rays of sunlight streamed through her bedroom window, Faye Yardley managed to successfully complete two full cycles.

It had to be said, an Internal Cultivation Method that had been refined by generations of Veridians and passed down was truly powerful.

As Faye Yardley began the third cycle, the energy flow once again intersected with the pathways of the Health Care Scripture.

This time was different from all the others. Faye Yardley had a distinct feeling that if she just persisted, the two methods might merge within her body to create a completely new Internal Cultivation Method, one that was uniquely her own.

Thus, Faye Yardley pushed aside all distracting thoughts, even temporarily blocking all her messages, and fully immersed herself in the changes within her body.

The world outside remained a flurry of activity. Zachary Pierce and Eleanor Jonas had both tried to contact Faye Yardley, but neither could reach her.

The massive city on Jay Jonas’s island had been completed, and they wanted to invite Faye Yardley for a tour.

After all, it was the first proper city to be built since their arrival in this world of survival at sea.

A city that could house twenty million people, and could squeeze in another five or six million if needed.

For them, this was a truly joyous and inspiring achievement.

Moreover, just as the entire surviving global population merged into Veridia, they were now able to contact former compatriots who had been "abroad." Many of them were patriotic and highly capable individuals...

After some discussion, Jay Jonas and the others had decided to give Faye Yardley the honor of naming this city of hope. Since she couldn’t be reached, the naming had to be put on hold, but the population had already begun to migrate in.

So, following the wave of excitement from yesterday’s merger, the national channel was once again buzzing with activity today.

[We’re Veridians now too! Island Master Jonas, you can’t leave us out! We want to get on the island and live in the city!]

[Yeah, that’s right! We’re Veridians too! We want to enter the city!]

[Who the hell do you think you are? Showing up and immediately trying to snatch spots? You think you’re worthy?]

[What’s wrong with us? We’re Veridians now! Island Master Jonas, we’re not asking for special treatment, but at least treat us fairly!]

[Special treatment? What kind of trash are you? You’ve got some nerve.]

[What are you all arguing about? Haven’t you noticed the number in the bottom left corner is dropping fast? The people who were pre-selected are definitely starting to board the island.]

[Veridian Island Masters can’t be this cruel and heartless, right? WAHHH~ Please, I’m begging you! As long as you let me on the island, I’ll do anything!]

The clamor on the channel clearly had no effect whatsoever on the established plans of Jay Jonas and the others.

To Zachary Pierce’s surprise, the other two foreign Island Masters, aside from Leonard, had both contacted him. They said they were willing to transfer their islands to him on the condition that he build a city, and in return, they demanded half of the city’s population slots.

Leonard, the one who hadn’t contacted him, had instead reached out to Jay Jonas, offering to trade something he possessed for the city construction blueprints.
