While the cars were making their way toward the military center, Luciel continued dealing with the huge birds that were being attracted by the movement of the convoy.

Due to the chaos inside the base, a lot of debris and fleeing people were obstructing the roads, so even though the military center wasn’t far, they were delayed along the way.

Still, despite the obstacles, the military center was close enough that they managed to reach it in a relatively short time.

When the soldiers at the military center saw the approaching vehicles—clearly marked as research center transport—they quickly made way and let the convoy pass, allowing them to enter safely without issue.

Luciel saw them successfully reach the military center and, satisfied that they were safe, turned his attention elsewhere.

Since there were still many huge birds attacking the military area, Luciel didn’t immediately head to the hospital where Treyton and the others had gone. Instead, he decided to help clean up the giant birds attacking the area first.

There were quite a few of them, so it took him some time to clear them all out before he could leave.

By the time he finally reached the hospital, Treyton and some of the others were no longer there.

Luciel only saw Jacob and about half of the fifteen people who had originally gone out with Treyton.

He noticed Jacob’s poison attacks were still proving to be highly effective against the mutant birds.
