Inside the car, Chloe Grant was sitting in the passenger seat, while Matthew Morgan was driving, and the car was already on the road.
He hadn’t spoken from start to finish, just focused on driving.
Chloe instinctively leaned her body against the car door, creating a subconscious distance from Matthew.
Halfway through the drive, Matthew suddenly spoke, "Come to the company with me tomorrow."
For the first few seconds after he said this, Chloe didn’t react, but then she realized what he meant and was taken aback, "Go, go go... go to the company with you? Isn’t... that inappropriate?"
"You don’t have classes tomorrow," Matthew responded.
"Yeah, no classes." But what does that have to do with going to the company with him?
The car turned a corner, Matthew looked back and glanced at her, his tone calm, "I told you, during this time, stay under my watch."
"I can manage to not leave the house all day," Chloe said without thinking.
Anyway, she really didn’t want to be under Matthew’s watch!
She originally didn’t want to face him, and now being in this situation was exhausting for Chloe.
"It’s not safe at home," he replied.
