Chloe Grant retorted unceremoniously and continued, "Calling me so late isn’t just to boast about how close you and Lucas are, is it? I bet your stern dad, my dear uncle, gave you a lecture again, didn’t he?"

Chloe’s words left Lily speechless on the other end.
