Chapter 36: Ways of Venting
Listening to her father’s words, Chloe Grant felt not only wronged and angry but also utterly heartbroken.
"Why should I apologize?" Ultimately, she couldn’t hold back and vented her dissatisfaction, "I’m not the one at fault! You only listen to Lily Grant’s complaints, but do you know what happened to me?
You are my biological father, and even if you believe you should have your strict style and maintain a neutral stance, and even if your own daughter is wrong, you would never condone her. Feeling so wronged, Chloe Grant spoke while crying by the end, "Do you know you haven’t called me for many days? And do you know how much I was looking forward to this call? And Mom, she hasn’t talked to me in months, barely replies to my messages; do you two consider me a burden or something? Do you feel I’ve made things difficult for you and made you unhappy, making you think I’m even more of a burden now?"

On the other end of the line, Mr. Grant was overwhelmed by Chloe’s words, feeling uncomfortable and at a loss for how to respond.
Chloe Grant wasn’t born in the country; she was born abroad but was sent back shortly after, raised by her grandparents here. Later, her parents thought about bringing her abroad, but she was too resistant, and language learning was too difficult, so she was sent back again.
