Chapter 2: Familiar Voices
After Chloe Grant and Lily Grant parted ways, she headed straight to Lucas Morgan's home, reached his room, and switched his usual water with the water laced with drugs.
Once everything was set, Chloe Grant took the remote control and hid under the bed.
It's now 6:10, and Lucas will be back at 7:00 sharp.
But Chloe was already feeling nervous.
She had initially planned to calm herself by counting the time, but with every minute passed, her heart rate increased.
In this manner, she endured until 7:10, her eyes continuously fixed on the door, not daring to blink.
In her ears, it seemed as if footsteps could already be heard.
Chloe's nerves instantly tightened, her heart leapt into her throat, and her gaze remained unblinking on the open doorway, followed by a pair of polished leather shoes appearing before her eyes.
Chloe hadn't even reacted when she saw another pair walk in.

Chloe's mind exploded on the spot, her initially numb arm moved uncontrollably due to excessive agitation, pressing against the remote control beside her, making a sound.
