Chapter 68. My servant Vic POV.
C-rank. The rank that allowed someone to learn their first teleportation spells. My twin sister reached it a few days ago and naturally I followed the very next day. I couldn’t let her surpass me after all.
I was a princess and I had a standard to uphold.
Papa had said he would help me practice my teleportation magic and I was excited. It would be so much easier to steal his used underwear if I could just teleport them to my hands whenever I wanted.
My cheeks were red and I had a dreamy smile on my face. Oh the things I could do with his boxers. Maybe I could put one over my head and smell him ever that would be so good~
Laughter came from the kitchen. Nina, my servant, was in the middle of a laughing fit and I narrowed my eyes. How could she laugh so loudly and carefree when I am the one suffering from the lack of papa’s scent?
Walking in, I saw Kathy with a smug smirk on her lips. She was sitting at the island and eating her cereal.
I sat next to her.
Elegantly I crossed my legs and waited for the servant to make me a cup of tea.
“Vic why are you looking like a creep?” Kathy asked with a raised brow. My eyes were on the blonde maid, who was staring back at me with squished eyebrows, confused.
I sighed and shook my head. It seems I hadn’t trained her properly. That was a mistake on my part.
“Nina, prepare me a cup of tea please,” I ordered her with a sweet smile. She rolled her eyes at me but nodded and started making it.
Kathy munched on her cereal.
I waited patiently, looking at my sister.
With a mouth full of milk and flakes, she spoke, “Stop being so weird with Nina. She is not your servant and I don’t want to deal with your daddy issues every single morning.”
The words she used made my smile drop. My hands balled into fists. Daddy issues? How dare she accuse me of such a thing. I loved papa. It was not an issue.
But I calmed down and thought about her words.
“Is there anything wrong with being in love, dear sister?” My question made her cough. She quickly slurped some milk to clear her throat and put the bowl away.
Her violet eyes met mine. We were so similar and yet so different—one hiding her true feelings, the other a princess.
She sighed.
“I’m going to the gym. I suggest you try it too instead of being a perverted weirdo all the time.” With that she left and the maid handed me my cup of tea.
Hooking my finger around the handle of the cup, I took a sip, elegantly. Nina kept staring at me. I put the cup down on the granite island and crossed my legs again.
The air smelled like jasmine and Nina smelled like her strawberry perfume.
“It is not polite to stare, servant. You are not allowed to look at your princess this way.” My voice was sharp.
A sigh escaped her and she rolled her eyes again. At first she was obedient, but now it seems like she had gotten used to us and didn’t take me seriously anymore. Probably because Lucifer announced to the world that monster-hybrids existed. My maid felt safe enough to defy her princess.
“Victoria, I like you and understand that I work for you but you need to chill out.” Nina crossed her arms. The golden eyes were looking into mine.
I felt a twitch in my left eye and my hand twitched towards the spoon on the counter, my magic ready to send it flying into her eye socket but I stopped myself. Papa said no killing or hurting my servant and that she is family. Family was important and so I swallowed my anger.
My smile returned.
“Do you not understand the meaning of the word princess?” I asked.
Nina grabbed an apple from the fridge and took a bite out of it. She wasn’t even wearing her maid outfit anymore—just a black tank top and shorts, that highlighted her curves. That was another problem. Why did she have bigger cow-udders than Kathy? That didn’t make sense.
She chewed on the apple and shrugged.
“It’s a fairy tale figure that usually needs to be rescued. You don’t fit that image.”
My stomach hardened, making me feel cold and my smile disappeared. Nina continued to munch on the apple. Her eyes on the counter.
“I don’t?”
She shook her head.
My heart clenched in my chest painfully, and the world around me turned darker like there was a veil on my eyes. I wasn’t a princess? Papa said I was his little princess and the maid he brought me told me I wasn’t?
The room spun. But her face was clear as day. One spell. My hands twitched and I could feel my mana flowing into my fingertips. Her life would end in a split second.
Raising my hand, I pointed it at Nina and the air got cold, a small ball of compressed space appeared on my fingertip.
Nina’s eyes widened as she felt the sudden chill and saw my hand. She threw her hands up in a surrender pose, the apple forgotten on the counter.
“Wow chill, I didn’t mean it like that! You just don’t need to be rescued, that’s all! You are a strong woman Victoria!” Nina blurted out, her voice high and panicked as her back was against the fridge.
My lips parted in surprise and the spell disappeared. The darkness in the room was gone and the coldness in my body disappeared. Nina let out a sigh of relief and wiped her forehead.
“Am I still a princess then?” I asked.
She looked at me and nodded vigorously.
With a smile, I hopped off the stool and walked to her. Patting her head, she blinked up at me with those reptilian eyes.
“You can have the day off. Go play your anime games or something.” With that I left her in the kitchen and went to my room.
I needed to practice teleportation with papa and then steal his underwear.
