Chapter 34. Poolbar talk.
The main fun of the resort happened in the main pool, the spacious pool with a dedicated kid section. Silas watched as Elizabeth put Aurora on her shoulder and started to chicken-fight with Victoria and Katherine who were also on each other’s shoulder. The sounds of splashing water, giggling and laughter filled the area.
It was nice to watch but it also made him want to join in and play. He resisted for now. His attention turned to the adult-section on the opposite end of the pool, at the ocean-bar.
Two Vanes were there. Two Vanes drinking mimosa’s in the early morning like this was a bachelorette party and not a family resort. Anna and Lisa sat on two bar stools, sipping away with flushed faces.
He walked there with slow steps. The smell of alcohol and the chlorine was in his nose. The tiles were cold under his feet, even in the warm sun.
A moment later he was behind them. Reaching over their shoulders, he grabbed both their drinks and chugged them down. The taste was sweet. It felt good on his tongue.
Anna turned to look at him. Her violet eyes were glassy and her smile a bit goofy.
“Well look who it is~ Silas! Come sit down here darling, have a drink with us,” she said and patted the bar chair next to her.
He obliged and put down the empty glasses.
Lisa nodded along and pointed to a waitress, ordering him a stronger drink than the ones he just had. She wasn’t as drunk as Anna. Her tolerance was of a league of its own.
“So I was telling Lisa about my plans of expanding into the fashion industry in Italy~” His mother giggled.
“Is that so?” He raised an eyebrow.
Taking a sip of her drink, Lisa continued. “Very exciting stuff...”
A tightness in his chest formed. He glanced at Lisa and narrowed his eyes, “Since when did you find clothes exciting Lisa?”
She choked on her drink, putting it down on the counter. Her green eyes blinked rapidly.
“Well you know... suits, dresses... the fabric is very interesting...” she trailed off, her cheeks pink.
“Uhuh. Right,” he responded, not believing her.
Seeing her like this, made his decision even more obvious. It was time to put his foot down and make sure everyone was alright. His gaze turned to Anna who was sipping on the drink Lisa abandoned, for just a split second, and he poked her cheek.
“Mom, remember what we talked about a few years ago,” he said.
Naturally he expected her not to remember it. It was a vague conversation they had.
Anna nodded and grabbed his hand, caressing it gently.
“Of course I remember. About that thing...yes,” she hiccuped.
The drinks for him arrived. It was a tall, red looking cocktail. After thanking the bartender, he took a sip.
“Show me.” He was sure that she didn’t know what he was talking about but a woman who’s had a few drinks could surprise you.
And Anna surprised him.
Her free hand snapped in the air, a familiar space distortion happening. His eyes widened as a rift opened up in front of him and he could see a city street through it. Cars driving in a single lane, people walking on the sidewalk.
With his space sense, he could tell that it was in the center of Milan.
“You wanted to own a street...right honey?” Anna looked at him with a proud expression, showing off like a child.
Silas leaned in and rubbed her cheek. Then he kissed her forehead, feeling the warmth of her skin.
“No. That is completely wrong,” he said with a laugh. Lisa chuckled too.
She pouted and took another sip of her drink.
“Lisa,” he said and the brunette snapped to attention with a salute. She was really getting into the alcohol.
“I want you and Hailey to move back to our place,” he declared. The buzz in the air was cut by the seriousness of his tone.
Lisa blinked a few times and the flush on her cheeks disappeared. Her hand stopped holding her drink and she put it back on the granite counter. She was quiet.
The sound of water from the pool splashed in the background as she gathered her thoughts.
“I don’t think Hailey wants to move. She loves Tokyo...her friends, the food.”
He nodded and leaned back, stretching a bit.
“Yeah she does and she can keep those but I still want you both in the estate,” Silas said, not giving an inch in this discussion.
On the chair to his left, Anna looked at him with a confused look, unable to comprehend the meaning of his words with the alcohol in her system. Her violet eyes blinked slowly.
“Are you going to teleport us every day to Tokyo? Before work and after?” Lisa asked.
With a shrug, he replied. “If needed, yeah.”
A small smile appeared on her face as she considered the option. Her chest rose and fell in a sigh.
“I’ll think about it...okay?” Lisa said finally.
Silas patted her back, his mother mimicking him and patting Lisa’s other shoulder, the three of them sat together in silence for a while.
“Okay. Thanks Lisa,” he said. He didn’t want to pressure her but it was needed.
They drank a bit more. The sun got higher, its warmth more noticeable and the sky clearer. Lisa left to go to the restroom, leaving him and Anna alone at the bar. His mother leaned on his shoulder and pressed her boobs to his arm as she looked up at him with a cheeky grin.
Her hand trailed from his chest down to his abs under the shirt and rested on his belly.
“Quickie in the suite?” She whispered with a wink.
He choked on his drink and laughed.
“Lisa is going to come back any minute now and you’re asking me that?”
A giggle left her. Mana gathered around the S-rank and A-rank Vanes and she teleported them to her suite instantly.
