Retired S-rank father becomes a teacher

Chapter 28. Bacon with a side of blood please. Vic POV.

This was my D-rank celebration. My family gathering to celebrate my growth and to honor my new rank. Last time I checked there were only 12 living Vanes in the whole world and that bitch was definitely not a Vane. Her blond hair was too dirty like it needed a good wash with bleach and her blue eyes weren’t the color of the ocean but of sewer water.

Kathy walked ahead, probably as shocked as me. My twin knew that we had to stick together against outsiders, it was a twin thing, we were each other’s best allies in this cruel world.

“Morning Mom,” Kathy said, her voice sounding cheery. I never knew she could hide her anger so well. Maybe it was something we were just now learning about each other.

“Good morning sweetheart. Did you sleep well?” Mom stood up, her silver hair falling down her back, she was beautiful and the green silk dress she wore today highlighted that. She hugged Kathy tightly, who accepted it reluctantly, her eyes on the bitch. Good. Never take your eyes of a predator.

Mom pulled away, her hands going to Kathy’s shoulders with a loving smile.

“This is Evelyn, my new friend,” Mom introduced her.

“Everheart?!” My twin’s surprise was evident. Her eyes went wide, looking at the woman who had the audacity to sit next to my papa.

Before anyone knew it Kathy hugged her. Okay she needed to be punished later for this. Mom just watched us with a smirk on her face like she enjoyed watching this life-shattering situation.

“Oh hi,” Evelyn said as she hugged her back awkwardly, “I don’t really care much for my family name anymore. Call me Evelyn.” She laughed.

“Okay um Evelyn,” Kathy let go and moved back to mom, “I’m just a huge fan of yours! I mean your water magic is so precise and beautiful it’s amazing,” Kathy blabbered.

But I noticed that papa was quiet, his gaze was on me and I felt my knees tremble under his intense eyes. He motioned me over. Oh God, he was beckoning me. I walked to the table, avoiding looking at the tramp in any way.

Papa smiled gently. My heart fluttered.

“Good morning princess,” he greeted me in the same loving tone as always. He stood up and kissed my head. A blush crawled onto my cheeks, his lips were warm.

“Good morning papa,” I mumbled, looking down.

The hug came, a big bear hug, one that took my breath away and filled me with joy. I could smell his aftershave mixed with the scent of the ocean. The ocean? It was subtle but there, a smell of salt water.

Water magic—Evelyn Everheart.

My jaw tightened. I counted his heartbeats against my cheek instead. My nails dug in his shirt but he didn’t seem to notice, he kept on holding me tightly in his arms, his chin against the top of my head. This wasn’t okay.

“Break it up you two. Come, come we need to eat and get going before the buffet ends,” Mom called out to us, pulling me away from my papa. I won’t forget this.

Kathy was sitting next to Evelyn and they seemed to be getting along, but my place was next to papa.

“Papa, can you help me get some food? It looks like a long line,” I asked sweetly, taking his arm in mine.

He nodded and stood up, the table getting more room and as we walked away. I leaned closer to him.

“What do you want princess?” His deep voice was like music to my ears.

My hand gripped his tighter.

“Papa already knows what I want, right?” I whispered, biting my lips.

The side of his lip curled in amusement but he didn’t comment further on it. Why didn't he play along?

“Silas could you please grab me some fruit?” The blonde bitch called out.

No. Papa would never listen to her.

But he did, a nod and a small smile and she returned it.

My muscles quivered. A burning sensation went through me.

We stood in the long queue and I made small talk. Something was off. Papa would usually make a witty comment about something but he remained silent. He was in his own thoughts and his gaze was often on Evelyn. Why? Was he interested in her?

My head spun. I felt nauseous.

The lady in front of us moved and we were in front of a mountain of food. It smelled delicious.

Papa put some food on my plate as I held it and then on his own, taking my hand back in his. The whole world faded away for me and I forgot about the blonde tramp. My shoulders dropped. I hadn't realized they were up.

We went back to the table and ate while the others chatted away, talking about unimportant things like the news about Mercury cracking. I didn’t care about that.

First I ate my bacon, then the eggs and finally I took a sip of my juice. In order. Perfectly executed. Not a drop on me, which was a win against Kathy because she always got her clothes messy when eating.

Putting my plate down, I wiped my lips with a napkin. A proper princess was always neat.

Then a scream came from a nearby table, a woman had dropped her glass of wine. Red liquid pooled on the ground and it was beautiful. Like blood. If only the blood was from that bitch I wouldn’t mind cleaning it up.

I stood up from the table.

“Where are you going princess?” he asked me, his eyebrows furrowed. Was he worried about me? The thought made my heart skip a beat.

“Going to the bathroom,” I lied easily. He didn’t question me further, his attention now on his food. My smile never left my lips as I walked away from him and to the restroom. The restroom was empty. Perfect.

There were mirrors on the walls, showing me from every angle, I looked cute today. My hair was on point and I liked the shirt. So why didn’t he compliment me?

He kissed my head and held me and his eyes still found their way back to her. My mind went to Evelyn. She was ruining the entire family dynamic with her presence and she needed to be taken care of quickly.

Taking out my phone, I opened a chat with Lucas. Her son.

The boy who had the audacity to look at me and talk about me when I was obviously papa’s. How convenient that he existed. I’ll accuse him of sexual harassment and have papa kill her along with him.

My finger was about to press the call button on the screen when I noticed a purple light reflected on the mirror, coming from behind me. A warmth spread in my chest.

Papa.

He was watching over me, even in the restroom. My lips curled in a smirk as I put my phone back in my pocket, a happy sigh leaving me. I would message Lucas later and just enjoy the fact that my papa was currently watching me.

I knew exactly what I was doing. I slowly pulled up my shirt to expose my stomach and made a show of rubbing it, my fingers tracing the outline of my abs. They were there but very faint. My skin felt on fire. Papa was watching this, his violet eyes taking in every inch.

My breath hitched. How far should I go? Just a little bit more to make him hard, but not enough for it to be too much for him.

Turning around, I bent over, pretending to pick something from the ground, my ass sticking out in those tight jeans. The bathroom was cold, making my nipples hard, and the goosebumps on my skin visible. The thrill of this was addictive, I wanted more, to be with him forever.

But I stopped my little show there. Someone entered the restroom, it was a stranger, another rich lady who couldn’t hold their bladder. Please die.

The light vanished when I stood up, papa wasn’t there anymore. This lady ruined our moment and for that I despised her.

I glared at her, my violet eyes flashing with malice. She seemed to notice and quickly hid herself in a stall and her piss sounded like rain hitting a window on a stormy night. Nasty. I wouldn’t even touch that door handle with my gloves on.

First mom and Kathy. Now this woman.

I stared at myself in the mirror. The same purple eyes as his eyes when he watched over me at night. His best feature on his best girl.

The eyes of the strongest, and I couldn't even stop one lady.

No.

My eyes changed. The coldness settled in like it had always lived there, just waiting. I was D-rank now. Evelyn Everheart was an S-rank so I couldn’t reach her. Yet. But this lady.
