Chapter 20.5. Jupiter.
The portal closed and Silas was in space around Jupiter to be exact, watching the great red storm rage on. It calmed him, this emptiness of space. He could stay here forever if it weren’t for his lovely women on Earth. His treasures. Yet he wasn’t here just for the calmness.
The storm on Jupiter was bigger than Earth and had been going on for 100s of years. It fascinated scientists but for Silas and Berlin it was something different. They visited Jupiter for the first time about a year after the awakening with one specific goal in mind.
A prison.
They needed a place to put dangerous S-rankers. These were the ones that killed millions of people, experimented on their own kind, tried to bring hell to Earth with their magic. Berlin and Silas did those things too, except the last one.
So why lock up those S-ranks instead of killing them like they deserved? The answer was simple. Trump cards. If there were other worlds with monsters and gods or aliens out there, then the worst of humanity could be unleashed upon them. That was Berlin logic, it was cold but effective and Silas went with it.
He opened his eyes, a portal appearing in front of him and he passed through it. The other side was in the center of the storm, there was a building made of reinforced metal with a combination of space and sealing magic to keep it intact.
No guards, no defenses because Berlin held the key to the cells and he held the key to the planet. It was the perfect lock. The prison was a large cube and it could hold up to 20 criminals. Right now only half the cells had occupants.
Entering the main hallway that led to the cells, there was no one to greet him. No prisoners made a peep as he passed. Because they were in a state that made them unable to do anything: their mana core and mind had been sealed. They couldn’t speak or move, just stare at the wall, trapped with their own thoughts.
He reached his destination, a cell on the end and to his left. The first inmate.
She had short blue hair and was in her mid-20s, her body still in her hunter uniform with the name tag, Valentina. 21 years had passed since then.
Her magic was unique. Time magic. One that could stop time in a bubble or speed time. She used that to her advantage to kill ten million people in a few minutes, making them age rapidly to dust. There was no end goal in mind, just pure unfiltered chaos.
Yet she was the only person that once completely severed his space magic.
Silas stood outside her cell.
“Hey Val, it’s been a while hasn’t it?” his tone casual yet there was an edge of coldness to it.
She didn’t look away from the blank white walls. It was impossible to.
He sighed, “You are probably wondering why I’m here, huh?” No response. Not that he expected one. “I came to see if you escaped somehow. To see if the seal on your mind has broken. But... it seems to be intact.”
Her pupil moved slightly.
“I’m both relieved and pissed. Because now there is someone or something messing with my magic and it isn’t you.” Silas walked away.
The prison fell back into silence. His visit over.
Returning to Earth, Silas went home and sat on the couch, his mind a whirlwind.
