Chapter 239: 237
Demonic Rage
{To tell the truth… I truly wished for his death. I am my father's only daughter, and I want nothing else.}
Atlach-Nacha's daughter whispered those words into Arthur's ear, then placed her hand on his head and violently slammed him toward the ground.
Thud.
{This is because you called my father a crawler.}
A second blow.
{And this is because you challenged him.}
A third blow.
{And this… is because you tried to break my neck.}
Blood poured from Arthur's forehead, running down his face and neck as she continued smashing his head against the ground again and again, without mercy or hesitation, until her hands were completely stained with his blood.
{Filth.}
She hurled his body violently against the rocky wall, sending him crashing into it like a broken doll, then began wiping the blood from her hands without the slightest concern.
"Rath is dead…"
Arthur muttered in a hoarse voice.
"Rath is dead…"
"Rath is dead…"
His torn mouth continued repeating the same words in a sickeningly calm manner as he stared at the dark ceiling of the cave.
The life had vanished from his eyes.
There was no one there to comfort him.
No Estaroth to embrace him.
No Kio to tell him to calm down.
There was no one.
Arthur lay alone in the darkness… empty.
He stared at the ceiling with shattered eyes, then—
Roared.
A roar that was neither human nor merely demonic, but an absolute might that caused the entire planet of Atlach-Nacha to tremble.
{What are you—}
"You first."
Before Atlach-Nacha's daughter could even turn around, a hand was placed on her head, lifting her body from the ground, and then—
Smash.
Smash.
Smash.
Again and again, until her head was horrifically crushed and her features were completely destroyed.
"Atlach-Nacha!"
Arthur screamed, his voice echoing throughout the entire cave.
His eyes changed from pure heavenly blue… into blazing blood-red.
Darkness swirled around his body like a hurricane.
The darkness tried to envelop him, to swallow him, but he raised his hand and slammed it against the ground with tremendous force—
Once…
And again…
Until the cave shattered, revealing the outside world.
"Come out now… Atlach-Nacha!"
Arthur roared.
The ground moved.
An army.
Thirty thousand spiders, varying in size, each one more hideous than the last.
The largest among them was the size of a tank.
Arthur pressed his mouth tightly shut, and blood seeped from between his teeth.
He raised his hands and smeared his own blood across his face and head.
The first spider approached to bite him—
But Arthur's right foot rose, and he kicked it with such force that it was sent flying beyond the atmosphere.
"I will erase every one of you from the face of creation, you bastards!"
He charged toward the army.
One man… against thirty thousand.
He swung his hands, and heads went flying.
Blue blood poured across the ground, which drank it until it was sated.
He advanced without retreating.
Killing left and right, without mercy, without stopping.
Then, a massive spider the size of a tank moved.
It raised its legs to crush Arthur—
But time stopped.
The spider's eight eyes met Arthur's eyes.
They were not eyes.
They were dark voids… now filled with rage, hatred, and vengeance.
The spider froze in absolute terror.
This was not a human…
Nor a monster…
It was something else.
Something that had never existed before.
Arthur the Mourner.
Blood flowed from his eyes, and an expression of absolute hatred was carved across his face.
He raised his hand… then clenched it.
The spider choked.
Its organs exploded, and its entrails erupted from its mouth like a fountain of blood.
"Extraction."
Everything within its body came out… everything.
The spider army stopped.
"Awaken from your death."
The corpses moved… and rose.
They were no longer Atlach-Nacha's soldiers.
They were Arthur's soldiers.
"Kill them all."
One hundred dead spiders charged against twenty-five thousand living ones.
Fear…
Panic…
Spread throughout Atlach-Nacha's army.
With every fallen enemy, Arthur summoned a new soldier.
His body screamed in pain because of the evolution of his Necromancy skill, but he paid it no attention.
The battle continued for a full thirty minutes.
Arthur's number of soldiers rose to two hundred and fifty.
And only five thousand of Atlach-Nacha's army remained.
Yet…
He still did not appear.
The rage was slowly consuming Arthur.
He began losing control.
The only thing keeping him sane…
Were Rath's final words, repeating endlessly inside his mind.
{You bastard!}
A voice thundered from the sky.
Arthur raised his head.
A blood-red spider, with three arms on its right side and three on its left.
A massive body, and a pained human face with six eyes, a nose, and a mouth.
A line of black hair extended from its head all the way to its rear.
This was—
Atlach-Nacha.
