I Became a Demon Sword and Traveled the Anime Worlds

Chapter 171: Gain My Recognition, Mumen Rider!

Puri-Puri Prisoner tore through the last remains of his prison uniform.

The fabric scattered into the rain, and he stood there completely naked, his muscles swelling as his aura reached its peak.

"No one has ever survived after seeing me in this form!"

The Deep Sea King stared at him.

Then his face twisted with genuine disgust.

"Hideous."

The appetite he had barely managed to keep was gone.

A moment later, his body blurred forward.

A rapid storm of punches crashed down on Puri-Puri Prisoner, each blow heavy enough to cave in flesh and bone. The so-called ultimate form lasted only a few seconds before the hero was crushed into the ground.

The Deep Sea King looked down at the defeated man and clicked his tongue.

"You truly disgust me."

Originally, this human had seemed like a piece of high-grade wagyu beef.

Now, it was as if someone had dumped filth on top of it.

Forget eating him. Just looking at him was nauseating.

The Deep Sea King stepped over him and continued forward.

Following the scent of humans through the rain, he headed toward the largest stadium in J-City.

There were many people gathered there.

Many frightened, helpless people.

Meanwhile, Satoru Suzuki was still pedaling toward the same destination.

The dark clouds above finally broke.

Torrential rain poured down, hammering the streets and turning every gutter into a rushing stream.

As he passed through an intersection, Satoru suddenly noticed a familiar figure standing not far away.

"I remember you... C-Class Rank 2, Caped Baldy."

He slowed his bicycle.

"You're a hero too, right?"

Saitama turned when he heard the voice.

"Have you seen Genos?"

"Genos?" Satoru thought for a moment. "The new S-Class hero? Did you get separated from him? Do you need me to take you to look for him?"

"Eh, I'll pass."

Saitama glanced at the bicycle.

Running would probably be faster.

Satoru was not offended. He simply smiled.

"Then I wish you luck in battle. See you later."

With that, he pedaled away through the rain.

On his back, Asuramaru looked in Saitama's direction, thoughts stirring.

Has the plot changed?

World Correction Force?

Because of the changes Asuramaru had caused, Sonic was no longer present to attract Saitama's attention. Under normal circumstances, Saitama and Satoru should have reached the stadium together.

But now Saitama had refused.

The route had shifted, yet events still seemed to be returning toward their original course.

Was the world itself correcting the deviation?

Asuramaru fell into brief contemplation.

This was the first time he had encountered something like this. For now, he could only continue observing.

Several blocks away, however, his Perception had already caught the signs of an intense battle.

Satoru Suzuki, unaware of any of this, continued pedaling toward the stadium.

By the time he arrived outside, the scene before him had already become a nightmare.

Genos lay in the rain, defeated and near death.

His body was broken, his limbs destroyed, his metal frame half-submerged in muddy water.

The Deep Sea King walked toward him with the ease of a victor.

"I never thought you would destroy yourself to protect a brat."

The monster's voice was low and mocking.

"You are a fool. But the fact that you managed to injure me deserves some praise."

He raised his hand.

"As a reward, I will kill you myself."

The civilians sheltering inside the stadium saw everything through the massive hole in the wall.

Despair spread through the crowd.

Genos could no longer move.

The monster was still standing.

No one was left.

Then, from behind the Deep Sea King, a bicycle rolled through the pouring rain.

Satoru Suzuki pedaled forward, then threw his bike aside with all his strength.

"The Mumen Rider of Justice has arrived!"

The Deep Sea King stopped.

Slowly, he turned around.

Veins bulged across his face.

He had truly had enough of these endless flies.

"I'm getting tired of this."

Satoru charged anyway.

He threw a punch with all his might.

The Deep Sea King did not even bother dodging. He simply caught the fist with one hand.

Then he swung.

Satoru's body smashed into the ground.

Again.

And again.

The Deep Sea King slammed him into the rain-soaked pavement as if he were nothing more than a rag doll. Only when Satoru's glove slipped free did his body finally fly away, crashing through the puddles and skidding across the flooded ground.

The monster tossed the empty glove aside.

Then he turned back toward Genos.

"Sorry. I'll finish you off now."

But before he could take another step, he froze.

The ant he had just flung away was charging again.

"Justice Tackle!"

Satoru forced his battered body forward and crashed into the Deep Sea King's waist, wrapping both arms around him.

Blood ran down his forehead.

His entire body screamed in pain.

But as long as he had even a shred of strength left, he would not stop.

The Deep Sea King's face darkened.

"You're really annoying, little bug."

He grabbed the armor on Satoru's back and hurled him more than ten meters away.

The impact was no different from being struck by a truck.

Satoru hit the ground and rolled through the rainwater.

This time, perhaps because he felt death approaching, the words he had buried in his heart for years finally came out.

Blood spilled from his mouth.

"I've always known..."

His voice was hoarse.

"C-Class heroes are useless."

He gasped for air and tried to stand.

His body trembled.

Then he collapsed again.

"I know I could never make it to B-Class. I know exactly how weak I am."

The rain beat against his back.

The Deep Sea King, restored by the downpour, had returned to his true form.

His body had grown larger, towering over five meters tall. He turned and strode toward Satoru, looking down at him like one would look at an insect in the mud.

"What are you mumbling about over there?"

His voice was filled with contempt.

"Begging for your life?"

Facing death, Satoru still did not retreat.

He struggled to push himself up from the ground.

Every movement tore at his injuries.

Every breath tasted like blood.

Still, he shouted with everything he had left.

"But even so, I have to stand in front of you!"

His voice echoed through the rain.

"It's not about whether I can win or not!"

He forced himself upright.

"Right now, I'm the only one left!"

At the stadium wall, the last flicker of courage ignited inside the frightened civilians.

The first to shout was the boy who had once taken shelter beneath the tree. He clung to his mother with tears streaming down his face, yet his voice rang out as loudly as he could make it.

"Go, bicycle big brother! Beat that Deep Sea monster! Go!"

The child's cry awakened the others.

"That's right! Go!"

"We're counting on you, Mumen Rider!"

"You can do it!"

"Beat him!"

The voices grew.

One after another, the people began to cheer.

The Deep Sea King's patience finally ran out.

But then, a cruel thought crossed his mind.

If he crushed this man in front of everyone, if he destroyed the hope they had just barely managed to regain, their despair would become even sweeter.

He stepped forward slowly.

Raised his right arm.

Clenched his fist.

Then brought it down toward Mumen Rider.

Under the torrential rain, Satoru Suzuki roared and raised his own right arm.

He took one final step forward.

He chose to stake everything on this moment.

Then the world went silent.

His vision shifted.

The rain disappeared.

The roar of the Deep Sea King vanished.

Satoru found himself standing at the boundary between sky and sea.

Endless blue stretched in every direction.

The world was quiet.

Peaceful.

Beautiful.

It felt almost like heaven.

"Am I... dead?"

Satoru stared blankly at his hands.

Then he slowly knelt.

But there was no regret in his heart.

Even at the very end, he had practiced his justice.

Then a familiar yet strangely distant voice sounded beside him.

"You're not dead yet."

The voice paused.

"But you're close."

Satoru looked toward the sound.

An exquisite figure had appeared before him at some point, standing atop a blade and looking down at him.

That face overlapped perfectly with the figure in his memory.

For a moment, Satoru could hardly believe it.

"You are..."

Before he could finish, Asuramaru spoke first.

"You knew your strength was lacking, so you did not act recklessly."

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

"But when there was no one else left to stand, you still chose to stand and protect everything."

His crimson eyes looked straight at Satoru.

"Is this what you call justice?"

Asuramaru slowly descended from the hilt of the blade and landed before him.

"Interesting."

The corners of his mouth curved upward.

"Satoru Suzuki. It seems your desire for power, born from the wish to save others, has moved me."

His voice carried a quiet, dangerous grace.

"Here and now, I recognize you as my Blade Master."

He extended his hand.

"And I will deal with that thing for you."

Then his smile sharpened.

"But power has a price. Even if that price is death, are you willing to accept it?"

Satoru stared at Asuramaru.

There was no hesitation.

No doubt.

Only resolve.

"Then I'm counting on you, Asuramaru."

His expression was firm.

"Use my life to save them!"

Asuramaru's smile deepened.

"As you wish."

Power erupted.

Outside, in the rain-soaked stadium, Satoru Suzuki's eyes reopened.

They were no longer ordinary human eyes.

They had turned crimson, shining like polished gemstones.

A torrent of demonic power surged around him, twisting the rain and shaking the air.

The Deep Sea King sensed something wrong at once.

Then a cold voice sounded beside his ear.

"It seems it's finally time for me to stretch my legs."
