(A/N: What should I do about 2015 WC? While I would love to have Dhoni win back-to-back, it'd be detrimental to Rudra's future as captain. Remember Rudra's place is at no.4 till 2019 wc. And Australia 2015 squad was too powerful, compared to India. Most ridiculous was that final against NZ lol. It was the easiest final before 2026 T20 wc lol. So, it's all down to a choice 👇:

A. Have India reach final but losing against Australia.

B. Follow same script as the original timeline, i.e., our semifinal exit.

Note: Don't worry. I'll be updating back-to-back till Saturday. 5 chapters a week.)

....

The atmosphere at Sharjah was no longer just loud. It was deafening, a physical wall of sound that seemed to vibrate the very moisture out of the desert air.

The floodlights screamed down on a "Red Sea" of fans, their jerseys a blur of red as they jumped in unison, the stadium foundations trembling under the weight of a legendary beginning.

The scent of burnt popcorn and expensive turf grass hung heavy, punctuated by the sharp, electric crack of willow that was about to become the soundtrack of the night.

Over 3: Wayne Parnell to Rocky Rudra

Harsha Bhogle: (With a rising, lyrical cadence, his voice laced with genuine awe) "Sharjah is trembling, Danny! I have seen some truly magnificent hitters of the cricket ball in my time, but the sheer, unadulterated stillness of this young man... it is terrifying. It's the absolute calm before a very, very violent storm."

Danny Morrison: "Oh, you bet it is, Harsha! And look at Wayne Parnell! He looks incredibly nervous out there! He's adjusting his cap, he's wiping his hands on his trousers... he's trying to find some grip, but he knows! He knows the Wolf is hungry and ready to pounce! Deliciously poised here!"

____

2.1: Parnell to Rudra:

Parnell bounds in from over the wicket, angling a quick delivery across the right-hander. Rudra doesn't even wait for the swing. He takes a decisive half-step forward, completely eliminating any movement, and launches a majestic, lofted straight drive.

It is a shot that screams prime Ricky Ponting—high, rigid elbow, a perfectly vertical blade, and a flawless follow-through that points directly toward the desert stars. The ball effortlessly clears the sightscreen, vanishing into the night.

SIX RUNS

Danny Morrison: "BOOM! Down downtown! Right out of the screws, Harsha! He's gone miles back into the second tier! What a clean strike from the lad!"

Harsha Bhogle: "Oh, that is just beautiful. High elbow, perfectly still at the crease... it's like a textbook illustration come to life. He didn't look to muscle it at all, Danny. Just pure timing."

2.2: Parnell to Rudra:

Spooked by the straight drive, Parnell drastically over-corrects, dropping the ball halfway down the pitch. It is a catastrophic error. Rudra pivots on his back foot with the fluid grace of a ballerina and the devastating violence of a sledgehammer.

It's the classic Ponting pull—his front leg raised slightly off the turf, his horizontal bat swiveling seamlessly through a murderous arc.

Deep in the mid-wicket stands, a fan frantically tumbles over seats to snatch the ball out of the air.

SIX RUNS.

Harsha Bhogle: "STAY IN THE SLOTS, PARNELL! Rudra is playing with him!

That is the quickest, most dismissive swivel of the hips we've seen in a long, long time. If you bowl short to this boy, you're just asking for trouble."

Danny Morrison: "Gone! Into the stands again! He's absolutely dismantled him, Harsha! The big boy fetched that from outside off and whacked it! Absolute maximum!"

2.3: Parnell to Rudra:

Desperate to stop the bleeding, Parnell aims for a toe-crushing yorker but misses his mark by barely two inches. It dips into a juicy, low full toss. Rudra doesn't even swing hard, he relies on his incredible, hyper-elastic wrist-work to perform a brutal short-arm jab over wide long-on. He doesn't bother looking up to track the flight of the ball.

Instead, he keeps his intense gaze locked entirely on Parnell's demoralized, sweat-streaked face.

SIX RUNS.

Danny Morrison: "THREE IN A ROW! This is absolute carnage in the desert! He didn't even look at it, Harsha! Just a short-arm jab and a big stare-down! Oh, he's got the swagger, hasn't he?!"

Harsha Bhogle: "Look at that. He didn't even follow the ball with his eyes. He just kept his gaze locked on the bowler. For a young player to have that kind of presence, that psychological dominance... it's extraordinary."

2.4: Parnell to Rudra:

Parnell is visibly crumbling at the top of his mark, his shoulders slumped. He serves up a regulation length ball on off-stump. Rudra charges down the track like a predator. He meets the rising ball perfectly on the up, effortlessly lofting it over extra-cover.

The footwork is incredibly nimble, the contact so pure it sounds like a gunshot echoing through the stadium.

SIX RUNS.

Harsha Bhogle: "He's gone again! Four in a row! You almost feel for Wayne Parnell here, he has absolutely nowhere to hide. This young man is putting on a clinic for the Sharjah crowd."

Danny Morrison: "Stop it, Rocky! Absolutely ridiculous, son! Over extra-cover now! He's hitting them wherever he pleases! The Wolf is hungry tonight, folks!"

2.5: Parnell to Rudra:

Parnell finally searches for his slower ball, desperately trying to disrupt the rhythm. Rudra reads the deception like a primary school picture book. He stays deep in his crease, waits an eternity for the ball to arrive, delicately opens the face of the bat, and guides it precisely through the gap between a diving backward point and short third man.

FOUR RUNS.

Harsha Bhogle: "Surgical. One moment he can demolish you with brutal power, and the very next, he will dissect your field with a scalpel. He's moved to 48 now, from just eleven balls. Extraordinary."

Danny Morrison: "Oh, the touch! The finesse! From heavy metal to classical music just like that! Guided it right between the fielders. He is tracking at a million miles an hour!"

2.6: Parnell to Rudra:

The final delivery of a staggering, 32-run over. Parnell tries a wide yorker outside the tramline. Rudra reaches out, his core balance still entirely perfect, and slices it over a leaping point fielder. It isn't a desperate slog; it is a controlled, high-speed placement that races away to the boundary rope.

FOUR RUNS.

Harsha Bhogle: "Thirty-two runs from the over. Let that sink in. Rocky Rudra is 52 not out off just 12 balls. But wait... the official half-century has come in just 12 deliveries. He has done it again! He has equaled the fastest fifty in the history of the game!"

Danny Morrison: "UNBELIEVABLE SCENES! Thirty-two from the over! Twelve balls, fifty runs! He's raised the blade, the crowd is going absolutely bonkers, and Virat Kohli is sprinting down the pitch! What a superstar!"

____

In the Commentary Box

Harsha Bhogle: (Chuckling in absolute disbelief, his voice full of warmth) "Danny, am I... am I reading this scorecard correctly? We know what he did in Auckland against the Black Caps in that Test match. But to come here, on his IPL debut, in the red and gold of RCB, and do it in twelve balls? It's just... it's beyond belief, isn't it? Chris Gayle's record of seventeen balls has stood for so long, and this young man has just taken a scalpel to it."

Danny Morrison: (Voice cracking with pure excitement, practically screaming into the mic) "He's a freak, Harsha! Absolute genie cricket from the youngster! The fastest fifty in the history of the IPL, and he hasn't even broken a sweat, big boy! Look at the crowd out there! They are going absolutely bonkers in the stands! Unbelievable scenes!"

____

The stadium was a furnace of noise. Fans stood balanced on plastic seats, waving giant red-and-gold flags, their voices already hoarse from screaming into the humid night.

Amidst the chaos, Virat Kohli sprinted down from the non-striker's end. His face was a mask of pure, unbridled excitement.

Without slowing down, he threw his arms around the teenager in a tight, crushing hug, nearly lifting Rocky off his feet.

"You're a genius! You're a freaking genius!" Virat yelled over the deafening roar, his eyes wide with the frantic adrenaline of a man who loved dominant cricket more than anyone else on earth.

Rudra, by contrast, remained startlingly anchored. There was no wild, emotional release in his eyes—just a cold, calculated hunger.

To him, fifty wasn't a milestone to celebrate, it was just the moment he stopped feeling things out and started being truly dangerous.

Feeling a bit suffocated, he gave a breathless chuckle and gently patted Virat's shoulder to disentangle himself from the hug.

A quiet, confident smirk edged onto his face as he wiped the sweat from his forehead with his forearm. He raised his Kookaburra Kahuna bat toward the stands, turning slowly to acknowledge the sea of cheering fans.

No dramatic chest-thumping, no theatrical roaring—just a simple, firm nod of his helmet toward the RCB dugout and a brief, respectful raise of his glove to the crowd.

It was an acknowledgment that he knew exactly what he was here to do

"This is just the start, Skip," Rocky said, his voice steady even as his chest heaved a little. "We aren't finished with them yet."

Virat laughed, a wild, infectious grin plastered across his face as he slapped Rocky on the back of his pads.

"Then let's go. Let's turn this place upside down."

SCORECARD:

RCB: 64/0 (3.0 Overs)

Rudra 52* (12), Kohli 12* (6)

The game had barely begun, but for the Delhi Daredevils, the night already felt very, very long.

The digital world just suffered a total system failure.

The 32-run over and the 12-ball fifty turned Reddit's r/Cricket and Twitter into a chaotic stream of disbelief, envy, and worship.

Reddit & Twitter:

u/RCB_Loyalist [r/Cricket]:

"I am actually crying. 😭 After years of heartbreaks, we finally have the Chosen One. 12 balls. 52 runs. My hands are shaking as I type this. #PlayBold"

u/Mumbaikar_Soul [r/MumbaiIndians]:

"Dear God, if this is a nightmare, wake me up. I just saw the kid we groomed for years destroy Parnell with a Ponting pull shot in a RED jersey. It hurts more than a breakup. 💔😭"

@WhistlePodu_Army: "As a CSK fan, I'm totally terrified. How do you bowl to a top 4 of Gayle, Rudra Kohli, and ABD? We need to petition for 15 players on the field. This is illegal. #IPL2014"

u/Stat_King [r/Cricket]:

"🚨 HISTORY: Rocky Rudra just deleted Chris Gayle's 17-ball record. 12 balls! At 19 years old! We aren't watching a player. We are watching a glitch in the simulation. 🐺⚡"

@CricketAnalyst_Global: "Parnell's face after the 2.4 six was the look of a man who realized his career just became a footnote in someone else's legend. Rudra's wrist-work on that low full toss was 100% Sorcery."

u/DelhiDaredevils_RIP [r/DelhiDaredevils]:

"14 Crore player Yuvi... who is currently watching from the show on the field as a 12 Crore kid turns our bowling into a joke. The irony is so thick you could carve it with a bat. We should have gone for Rocky."

@Banter_Janta: "Punter must be watching this and smiling. The front-foot pull, the high-elbow drive... Rocky is paying homage to his idol. Best teenager since Tendulkar."

u/Optimistic_Odia [r/IndianCricket]:

"CUUUUUUTTTTAAAAAACCCCKKKK STAND UP! 🌪️ The Wolf is hunting in the desert! Sujit Sir must be having a celebratory drink right now! #RockyRudra"

@Mi_Forever: "Can we trade our entire squad for Rudra? Just one Rudra. Please... Watching this is exactly like seeing your ex win the lottery. It's so painful guys. #BringHimBack"

@TrollCricketIn: "(Meme: Virat Kohli lifting Rudra) 'The King carrying the Wolf? No, tonight the Wolf is carrying the Kingdom!' #RCBvDD"

u/Protea_Power [r/Cricket]:

"I feel for Parnell. He's a good bowler, but Rudra played him like he was bowling a tennis ball in his backyard. That straight drive was pure disrespect. 💀"

@Kolkata_Knight: "Gambhir must be pulling his hairs watching him bat lol. KKR's spin strategy is going to face its ultimate test against RCB. Can Narine stop the Outlier? I doubt it."

u/NeutralFan_10: "Did he just secretly pump his fist thrice on the logo? The loyalty is already there. RCB fans, you lucky bastards. You found the Missing Piece."

@cricketislife: "12 balls. 8 boundaries. 50 runs. I've seen enough. Give him the Orange Cap, the Purple Cap, and the Trophy already. It's over."

u/Legendary_Bogan [r/Cricket]:

"The technicality of that 2.5 guide through point... that's what scares me. He isn't a brainless slogger. He has a good brain. A very, very dangerous brain. Though he has already proven it in SA, NZ. 😄"

@BCCI_Hater: "BCCI ignored him for Yuvraj. If Rocky had played that WC final, I'm afraid he would have crossed 100 in those 21 balls. Clownery Stuff from BCCI as usual. I still remembered that BCCI selectors wanted Rayudu over Rudra for SA tour lol. Salute to Dhoni for shutting those corrupt officials down. I need those stuffs they're 🚬 🤬🤡."

In The VIP Box

High above the roaring crowd, the luxury VIP box was bathed in a heady mix of expensive cologne, air conditioning, and elite celebration.Vijay Mallya was entirely in his element. He wasn't acting like a cold, calculating corporate board member.

He was the ultimate showman, the "King of Good Times," radiating the sheer, unbothered flamboyance of a man who loved the limelight just as much as he loved a good gamble.

The moment the 12-ball fifty flashed on the giant stadium screens, Mallya burst out of his seat with a booming, deep-throated laugh.

His custom silk blazer flapped wildly as he raised both hands in the air, thick gold rings catching the harsh floodlights. He turned around, aggressively clamping a hand onto his son Siddharth's shoulder, practically shaking him with excitement.

Around them, the high-profile mix of Bollywood stars, corporate honchos, and UAE royalty rose in a uniform, thunderous standing ovation.

Mallya swiveled toward a cluster of international investors, his face glowing with a triumphant, red-faced grin. He didn't just speak; he commanded the room with that distinctive, smooth yet booming aristocratic accent—rolling his Rs and projecting over the deafening stadium speakers.

"You see that?!" Mallya shouted, gesturing grandly with an expansive wave of his arm. "That, my friends, is exactly why I didn't even blink at twelve Crores! The media thought I was throwing money down the drain. They called it a vanity project! But I don't play to participate, I play to dominate!"

"I knew exactly what I was buying. With Virat and Rocky out there, we aren't just winning a cricket tournament. We are building a global brand. A bloody dynasty!"

He reached back to grab a freshly poured flute of champagne from a waiter's tray, raising it high toward the glass facade, pointing right down at the pitch where Rocky was lifting his blade.

"Look at the boy! Look at that posture—he's completely unfazed! That is my Wolf right there!"

He turned back to the room, a massive, self-satisfied grin plastered across his face, looking exactly like a man who had not only won the jackpot but wanted to make absolutely sure every single person in the stadium was watching him claim it.

The cameras caught the moment Mallya clapped vigorously, a huge grin on his face, looking like the cat that didn't just get the cream, but the entire dairy.

SCORECARD:

RCB 64/0 (3.0 Overs)

Rudra 52* (12), Kohli 12* (6)
