Li Mengying’s voice was velvety soft, with the scented warmth of her breath brushing Chen Bin’s ear, making his bones feel a few ounces lighter.
However, before he had a chance to respond, Zhao Xinmei came out of the kitchen, carrying a plate.
Seeing the two of them together, her face instantly soured.
Nevertheless, in order not to let Li Mengying notice anything unusual, she spoke with an even tone.
"Dinner is ready, come and help yourselves to the dishes!"
"Okay!"
It was rare for Zhao Xinmei to initiate conversation with him, so Chen Bin immediately stood up and ran into the kitchen.
While serving the food, he even started to flatter her.
"Mom, the food you cook is much more delicious than anything outside."
Zhao Xinmei acted as if she hadn’t heard, completely ignoring him.
