Chapter 409: XLIV. Confidentiality Agreement
"You were very quiet at the lord’s residence yesterday, not your usual style. Is something on your mind?"
Celeste, as the East Sea Commissioner, was now Liszt’s assistant and watcher on behalf of the Lostra Sect. At the lord’s residence yesterday, you couldn’t expect that bunch of abstracts to discuss any business.
It was mainly Celeste interacting with the Rebellious Marquis, while "Liszt" and the rest of the core members made decisions. As an outsider, she became an external brain for Black Sail.
The others were either busy showing off or extremely interested in the beauties offered by the Rebellious Marquis.
The terms they finally agreed on were also quite acceptable.
The Rebellious Marquis was Aran’s dog on the surface, unable to do anything, but he expressed support for Lostra and Black Sail, allowing them to use Golden Palm Port as a base and granting them the greatest authority there, even allowing them to station troops.
But the Rebellious Marquis kept his distance from the Seventh Amendment, stating he wouldn’t get involved with those people, and the agreement only applied to Lostra and Black Sail.
It wasn’t just last night.
For the past few days, Celeste had felt that something was off with Liszt.
Her observation skills were extremely detailed. As one of the top espionage personnel in the world, Liszt had been quite abnormal these past few days: firstly, he showed no interest in women, secondly, his loquaciousness was gone, and thirdly... the most obvious, his aura was just different, lacking that impudent and shameless vigor.
But Celeste hadn’t considered someone impersonating him yet, she just thought Liszt was hiding something.
