Chapter 47: XLVII. Wind Breath Canyon
Wind Breath Canyon, many years ago, was once a bustling mining town that gathered a type of spiritual crystal ore known as Wind Breath Stone, used as materials for magicians or combined with other substances to create temperature control systems in the houses of the wealthy.
The canyon was thus named.
As the mines were depleted and resources exhausted, the rugged and harsh terrain naturally fell into abandonment.
However, many ancient relics of the town still remained, with rusted mining iron frames and broken walls scattered through the Qunqing Mountain Range, rendering an infinitely desolate scene, while the fierce winds of the canyon terrain were quite cutting.
"Are you sure it’s this place?"
Liszt and his group tied their horses to trees alongside the main road, the time had already reached the afternoon, it was uncertain if it was late, whether those two people were still alive.
To cope with pursuers, merely running on the main roads was tantamount to courting death, they had to leave the stone-paved roads and enter the dense forests of the Western Continent. The horses here were legitimate, not like those in Skyrim ridden by Dragon Descendants, capable of flying through space and time; they couldn’t handle the steep slopes and densely bushed complex terrain.
"Keep heading in the southeast direction for about fifteen miles."
Caroso pulled out an ancient brass Compass with intricate engravings from his tattered clothes, the needle pointing toward the deep forests to the southeast. This Compass was a spiritual ability tool, paired with another compass within a range of a hundred miles, marking each other’s locations.
"Over there are many abandoned mines, which make a good hiding place, but it is hard to know if there might have been collapses over the years."
Claude judged so, while his twenty men had also caught up and joined the rescue operation.
