The Sea Spirit Civilization, being marine life, has a layer of fine scales on the surface of their skin.
Therefore, Sea Spirit People do not wear clothes, and there is no need for them to wear clothes in the sea. However, when the Sea Spirit People came to Earth, this caused some Earth People to talk behind their backs, considering the Sea Spirit Civilization to be a civilization with primitive thinking. Despite their highly advanced technology, their mentality was still considered backward and barbaric, not even knowing to wear clothes, lacking a sense of shame.

Complaints aside, Earth Civilization would still tolerate and endure some of the biological habits of the Sea Spirit Civilization.
However, Earth Civilization never anticipated how vastly different the Sea Spirit Civilization’s biological habits were from their own. It was one thing not to wear clothes, but the Sea Spirits could engage in reproduction at any time and place.
It turns out that as marine creatures, the Sea Spirit Civilization’s brains did not evolve a region rich with emotional functionalities like the "amygdala" in humans. Hence, each Sea Spirit individual almost has no need for romantic love from the opposite sex, feeling a distinction only during reproduction.
Since all marine creatures reproduce at any time during their breeding seasons, the Sea Spirit Civilization naturally does the same. When a Sea Spirit accumulates a certain level of hormones, they seek out the opposite sex to reproduce, and afterwards, the two would separate without entangling emotions like humans.
Because they don’t spend excess time and energy on relationships, every Sea Spirit can be extremely focused on their tasks.
Thus, their technological level advanced so quickly, becoming a second-level civilization in just under five thousand years.
The time a civilization invests in scientific research is of course directly proportional to their technological level.
