My Overpowered Demon System

Chapter 112: Sylas

The heavens threatened to tear apart as a heavy downpour of rain fell from the sky.

Lightning crossed the crimson sky in a violent streak.

Thunder roared loudly as if it wanted to destroy every ear that heard it.

It was night, and everyone was meant to be inside.

But a certain mansion seemed to ignore that.

Wails echoed through the building, their collective voice drowning out the thunderclaps.

The raindrops turned crimson as they hit the blood-stained floors.

Metallic chimes rang through the air at the same time.

The heavy thuds of boots running on the tiles came in short bursts.

And above the mansion, a single person floated.

He looked down at the carnage like a divine being. Even as the rain fell from the sky, not a single drop hit him.

His arms were folded with cold indifference.

Behind him, his crimson hair, tinted with green and blue, drifted freely under the influence of the wind.

His diluted eyes gazed down at the situation calmly.

Specifically, his eyes were focused on two people fighting.

One had a slender body with short crimson hair.

His katana moved in sharp strokes that carved holes in the very fabric of space.

The opponent was a man with jet-black hair and blue eyes.

In his hand was a war axe that trembled with raw power.

His eyes burned with unseethed rage.

"Dante," he yelled at the figure in the sky. "Face me yourself if you know you are man enough," he yelled.

A scoff escaped Dante’s mouth at the threat.

"You can’t even defeat Sylas, and you think you have a chance against me," Dante replied calmly.

His voice disregarded the distance between them, crossing the space like it had never existed.

It reached the man’s ears softly.

The man roared, his face contorting as his rage burned fiercer.

"Your opponent is me, Thor," the voice came from behind.

Thor replied by cleaving backward.

The blade of his axe met Sylas’s katana.

The floor beneath him quaked, a tremor sweeping through the surface until the entire earth exploded.

Sylas pulled back just in time to avoid another slash from Thor’s axe.

He landed on one foot before bursting forward.

The earth he stood on was reduced to a pile of debris from the force of his push.

He swung his katana upward, slashing toward Thor’s jaw.

Thor caught the attack with his axe.

His arm buckled, rattling under the impact of the collision.

Both fighters remained rooted, staring into each other’s eyes.

Their weapons were still locked.

’How is he so strong when he is only at Tier 7?’ Thor wondered.

He understood that the Malvorin clan was filled with monsters, but this was another level entirely.

Matching a Tier 10 at Tier 7 was something that was only achievable by a rare few.

"Focus on the fight," Sylas’s cold voice jolted Thor from his thoughts.

A sharp black line had begun to tear toward his neck by the time he realized it.

Thor moved on instinct, parrying the katana.

A sharp sound echoed through the air, and the earth exploded from the impact.

The building that stood behind them shook from the force.

"Sylas, save the children inside the building. Nothing must happen to them," Dante said calmly.

Sylas nodded, ducking beneath another attack.

His leg lurched out in the next moment, smashing into Thor’s chest.

Thor folded under the impact, blood and spit flying out of his mouth as all the air was pushed out of his lungs.

He was sent flying into the sky in a streak of blue.

Sylas did not pause to confirm.

A mist of crimson erupted from his body, forming a massive being behind him.

The being stood at an imposing 100 feet.

In its hand was a great sword larger than a tree.

Its eyes radiated pure killing intent.

Thor regained his balance, stopping just beside Dante in the sky.

Dante flashed him a cold smile.

Both of them were within each other’s breath.

Thor seized the chance, swinging his axe in a horizontal arc at Dante’s neck.

Pause.

The axe stopped a few inches away from Dante’s neck, as if reality itself had negated its advancement.

Dante waved one finger with a smile.

"Defeat Sylas if you want to fight me."

Thor did not listen.

He pulled back and swung again, this time with lightning erupting along the blade of his axe.

Again, it stopped.

Before Thor could think of retrying, a massive red sword slashed from beneath, threatening to tear through space itself with its sheer power.

Thor quickly moved, narrowly avoiding the attack.

But it was not without its own cost.

His arm was cleaved through as easily as butter against a hot knife.

Thor’s eyes flashed with pain.

His gaze shifted to Sylas, who was flashing through one of the buildings.

"I will kill you," Thor yelled.

The avatar swung again, this time its sword faster.

Thor did not attempt to dodge it.

He met the sword head-on, slashing his axe with his second arm.

Lightning flashed through the avatar, tearing through its frame from within.

Sylas saw this scene, but he did not budge.

He burst out of the building, dropping the last demon child on the floor.

A death knight came to that spot and began guiding the children out of the battlefield.

Sylas did not stay there too long.

His body moved in a flicker of blue essence.

Boom.

Pillars of lightning shot from the sky toward Sylas’s figure.

Sylas met each one with a slash of his sword.

Then, the lightning stopped.

Thor stopped.

Sylas furrowed his brows as he saw this scene.

He came to a halt mid-step.

"So you did have a wife," Dante said from the sky. "And she is pregnant."

His eyes were following another human lady who had dropped to the floor upon seeing the carnage.

Dante descended from the sky and stopped in front of her.

"Stop," Thor yelled, lunging toward Dante from behind.

A cruel grin crossed Dante’s lips as he placed his hand on the lady’s stomach.

Her huge belly was reduced in an instant.

Dante stared at the unformed baby in his hand, and with a thought, he ignited it with cold blue flames.

The child was reduced to ashes right in front of the wife.

"Damn you!" the voice thundered from behind Dante as Thor swung his axe from above.

"Seems like you don’t listen," Dante said, still focusing on the wife.

In the next instant, Thor’s body exploded into a mess of gore and blood.

"Your husband was a kidnapper. I am sure he knew a day like this was going to come," Dante said.

The lady’s tears hit the floor, and her body exploded in the next second.

"You did well on your first job," Dante said to Sylas as he approached.

"In the end, you still had to help," Sylas said, his voice low.

At the same time, his death knights began to break into dark mists of essence.

"Come on, I interfered because I wanted to, not because you were losing," Dante said with a smile.

As both of them spoke, one child could only stare in shock.
