Blessed Curse of Lust

CH 9 – Decision

Yelana and Thea walked down the long hallway. Their destination was their classroom. They’ve had homeroom first in the morning. Normally, they would have had it on the first day, but their teacher wasn’t available, so it was rescheduled.

On their way there, they’ve spotted Lily, standing alone in the hallway. She seemed to be waiting for something, or more precisely, someone. She looked at Yelena as they approached.

“Good…” Lily started as they got closer, but Yelena just walked past her like she didn’t even exist. “...morning!” The girl’s voice got quiet and sad on that second word.

The two continued walking. Thea looked back and saw the dejected look on Lily’s face. She turned to Yelena.

“Don’t you think that was too cruel? Isn’t she the one you were with yesterday?” Thea already knew.

Earlier, Yelena explained what had happened the previous day, including how she had almost forcibly kissed Lily.

“I know! I don’t like doing this either, but this is what is best for her. After yesterday, I realized how dangerous it is. I can’t exactly put an innocent girl in that situation. What else am I supposed to do?” Yelena tried to rationalize her behavior.

“Maybe talk to her? Explain to her what happened. Who knows, maybe she would be more receptive than you might think.” Thea answered.

“Yeah, sure! Guess that is one way to do it. She either accepts it or will run away herself, thinking I’m crazy.” Yelena scoffed.

Considering there were no proper ways to prove Yelena was actually Lucia’s champion, she knew if she tried to explain it to Lily, it would just make her look like an absolute lunatic. Despite everything, she didn’t want to do that. In her mind, it was better to just ignore the girl until she gave up.

The two arrived at the classroom and took their seat. Yelena could see Lily walking in soon after, too, and sitting down at the opposite end of the room. Lily seemed sad, and it made Yelena feel even worse than before, but she knew it was necessary.

A couple of minutes later, their professor arrived too. A tall man, maybe in his late thirties. He had long, brown hair, perfectly parted in the middle. He had a clean-shaven face and was wearing glasses. He was wearing a blue robe with golden symbols embroidered on it.

“Good morning, everyone! Hope your first days have been good so far. I apologize for not being able to be here on the first day. Some things happened that delayed my return. Now that I’m here, let me introduce myself. I’m David Xol. I normally teach advanced magic, but for you I’ll be basically your homeroom teacher.” He introduced himself and explained the situation.

“What does that mean exactly? Well, my main job here will be to keep you informed about what's happening here and offer guidance if any of you need it. If your questions are related to one of the subjects you are studying, I advise you to go to the professor who is teaching that class. They would be better at explaining it. Anything else, you can come to me.” He finished explaining.

At first glance, he looked like a nice person. He seemed genuinely excited to be here and help the students, which was a good sign.

“Now, for the important part. I’ll explain a few things about how things work around here. It will be important for the future, so please do your best to pay attention.” He stopped for a second and looked around to see if everyone was paying attention.

“Good! First things first. You might know, but our academy has an official ranking system. Each of you can earn points by participating in various activities here. Based on the points you have, you will be ranked. Of course, the rankings are separate for each grade. There is no point in trying to compare you to the 2nd- or 3rd-year students, who have been here longer and have more experience.” He told.

The ranking system was a well-known part of the academy. It was their way of encouraging healthy competition among students. It also served as a means of measuring their abilities and overall competence. Everyone was strongly encouraged to do their best, and most students aimed for higher positions.

“All of you will start with 1000 points. For what reason, I’ll explain in a bit. First, let’s talk about how you can get more. The simplest way is to do well in your studies and tests. That will surely reward you with some points. There are also many extracurricular activities you can participate in.” He looked around the room again, making sure everyone was still paying attention.

“The two most popular things are dueling and the job board. Dueling is pretty self-explanatory. You can challenge each other and bet a certain number of points. The winner takes it all. It is a popular way to get more points, especially if you are confident in your skills. To make it official, you will need a faculty member to oversee the duel. Don’t forget that.” So far, it seemed simple enough.

Dueling was one of the main ways students could earn many points. That was also the reason why they started at 1000 points. Since they needed some to bet, they were awarded a small amount to use.

“The other thing I mentioned is the job board. It is located in the main hall. There will be all sorts of jobs and tasks posted on it. Make sure to pick one you can complete. Don’t overdo it. There is a penalty if you take a job and you can’t finish it. Also, make sure to look at the board for your specific grade. Don’t even try to take stuff that is for the 3rd-years.” He warned them sternly.

Judging by that, it seemed there had been issues in the past with lower-grade students trying to get jobs beyond their abilities. It wasn’t easy to guess how this could end up really bad.

“As for what kind of tasks there are, it varies. Some are posted by the school itself. Some help your teachers might need, or stuff like that. Others come from outside. It can be gathering specific ingredients or hunting monsters. There are many requests that come in. If you complete it, you will get the points as a reward, as well as some monetary compensation.” He pointed it out.

The job board was the other main thing. It not only allowed them to earn points and money but also real-life experience. It was a very useful tool that many took advantage of. Of course, it carries its own risks, but those who study here are mostly aware that they will be living a life of danger either way. It was also good for the school, as it helped build a stronger reputation with local communities.

“You might ask, but what do the point system and rankings do for you? Well, it can help you a lot. Those who reach certain ranks will be able to get benefits and opportunities that others cannot. I can’t tell what those are. Not yet, at least. They change each year, and some opportunities won’t present themselves until later. Even I don’t know all of them. Either way, they can help you greatly, so be sure to do your best.” He finished explaining.

It was a little odd that they didn’t specify what kind of benefits being higher-ranking would grant, but Yelena didn’t care too much. She aimed at the top either way. To get into the magic knight course during her 3rd year, she will need to distinguish herself in as many ways as possible.

He spent the rest of the class talking about various school-related matters and what is expected of students. Yelena already knew most of these things. She did her research before coming here.

The day went by fairly quickly. There wasn’t any big incident, and luckily Yelena could avoid pitching a tent in her skirt. Although she was very much distracted. She wasn’t yet used to her new body part, and even in soft form, it wasn’t always compliant with the design of the female underwear.

It really didn’t help that Yelena was painfully aware of it all the time. It was rubbing against her underwear when she moved. It was a very annoying experience. She hoped that by tomorrow she would wake up to find it gone.

Of course, that wasn’t the only issue Yelena faced that day. The issue with Lily was still very much present. The red-haired girl didn’t give up easily and tried to strike up a conversation with Yelena whenever she could.

Yelena, of course, did her best to avoid her or keep any interaction to a minimum. She was getting more and more frustrated, mostly with herself. She didn’t like acting like this towards Lily. She still felt this was the best way to do it.

It was lunchtime. This was the longest break during the day. Students could spend over an hour taking lunch, resting, or doing other activities. The class just finished. Yelena and Thea were splitting up; both had different plans for the break. Lily took this opportunity to try to confront Yelena again.

The short girl stood in front of the white-haired beauty. She had determination in her eyes. One way or another, she will get answers.

“Yelena, can we please talk?” Lily asked.

“There is nothing to talk about.” Yelena replied.

She tried to step around the other girl, but Lily didn’t let her. She stepped in front of her, holding her hands out to stop Yelena. Due to her smaller stature, she placed her hands on Yelena’s stomach. The other girl could easily overpower Lily, but she didn’t want to just walk through her.

“Yes, we do! About what happened yesterday. I know something is going on. I’ve seen it. During the practice, something changed inside you. Something that was bothering you. Then at the end you…” Lily didn’t finish the sentence and blushed a little when she remembered that moment.

“Nothing happened; it was a stupid mistake. Now, let me go!” Yelena tried her best to stand strong, but it was hard.

“No! Not until you tell me what was going on! I could tell something had happened. At least give me an explanation. I think I deserve that much after you’ve been ignoring me all day.” Lily demanded.

Yelena was surprised by how that meek girl was standing her ground. She thought about it. Maybe it would be best to just explain to her. Worst-case scenario, she would run away after hearing it. Yelena was okay with that.

“Fine! Come with me! We will talk in my room. It is not exactly something I could say in public.” Yelena said, and the two began walking towards her room.

Thea witnessed the scene. There were conflicting emotions in the girl. She hoped their talk would go well. After all, Yelena needed someone who could help her with her needs. Someone other than Thea.

Yet, she felt a deep pain in her chest as they walked away. She was prepared for this. She knew that one day, Yelena would find somebody. Maybe it won’t be Lily, but she will surely have a partner sooner or later. Thea was painfully aware that she would likely never be more than just a friend. She already accepted that fact. Still, seeing them walking together like that hurt. Despite being prepared for it, Thea found it hard to watch. She turned away from them and walked away in silence.

Yelena and Lily arrived at the room. Yelena let her in. Lily was truly impressed with how the other girl’s room looked. She knew the nobility would get a much more luxurious room, but she didn’t know how much more.

“Wow, this is crazy! So big. Bigger than my room and I have to share it with three other people.” Despite her words, she didn’t sound envious or anything.

Yelena closed the door behind them and invited Lily to sit on the bed with her. On the way here, she had to think through how to explain the situation to the girl. She still didn’t fully know, but she began her story.

Yelena started from the beginning. She explained what happened in the realm of the gods when she met Kytia. Then, of course, the meeting with Lucia and how she became her champion. Lily listened closely, and unlike Thea, she was much more animated about her reactions.

No surprise, it was hard to believe. A god choosing a champion wasn’t something that happened often. Yelena went on, she explained how Lucia is around her and talks to her, how she told her about the drawbacks and all. She omitted some details, especially the ones involving Thea. Lily didn’t need to know those.

“So, what happened yesterday was due to the drawback of the powers you received?” Lily asked back once Yelena finished.

“Yes, more or less. I’m sorry about that. After it happened, I felt really bad. I thought it would be best to avoid you. I don’t want to put you through something like that again.” Yelena apologized and tried to justify her actions.

“I see. It makes much more sense now. I noticed during the training that you’ve changed. I wasn’t sure what was going on, so I didn’t mention it. Not going to lie, when you pushed me down… I was a little surprised.” Lily looked away; her face was blushing.

Yelena noticed something. Lily only said she was surprised. Not hating it, not being scared. Simply just surprised. Maybe she was reading too much into it, but it struck her as a little odd.

“Yeah, I’m sorry. At that moment, I lost control.” Yelena admitted.

“No, no! You don’t need to apologize. I… didn't… mind it.” Those last words Lily said very quietly.

Yelena was surprised to hear that. What is that supposed to mean? She forcibly pushed Lily down and almost kissed her. How could she not mind it? That made no sense. She should be angry and upset.

“Ugh! Are you really this stupid? For fuck sake, I’m the goddess of sex and lust, not the goddess of love, but even I can see it. Do I really need to spell it out to you? She is into you, you moron! Now go get her!” Lucia snapped; she could no longer bear to watch this scene.

Yelena looked over to Lily. She was wondering whether that was really the case. Lucia wouldn’t lie about it, right? There was only one way to find out. Yelena took a deep breath and opened her mouth.

“So, you wouldn’t mind if I kissed you back then?” She asked straight up.

Lily started to panic after hearing the question. This was very clear from her extremely animated hand movements as she tried to speak up.

“Yes… I mean no… I mean maybe… Ugh! Sorry! It is like… you know… you seem like a very nice, kind, and caring person. You are also strong and the most… beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. Never ever thought someone like you would… ever want some plain and boring commoner like me.”Lily did her best to answer the question.

Yelena could now understand. Lucia was right. Seems like Lily did like her to some degree. The girl smiled.

“I see. Well, that is good to hear. I was really worried about that. I almost forced you into a situation you would hate. Besides, you are not as plain and boring as you might think.” Yelena pointed it out.

“What? No, I wouldn’t hate that. I would be happy!” Lily told, only to realize what she just said.

The red-haired girl blushed deep red. She covered her face in embarrassment. Did she really just say she would be happy if Yelena kissed her? She couldn’t believe it really came out of her mouth. She wasn’t even thinking about it and just said it.

Yelena chuckled a little when seeing Lily’s adorable reaction. She couldn’t help herself. The girl was just too cute.

“Don’t worry. I would be happy to do it too. Not because I was forced by some power. You know… I like you.” Yelena admitted.

Lucia was pumping her fist into the air when she said it. Finally, something is happening. It did need her intervention, but things are moving along nicely.

Lily wasn’t sure if she heard it right. She peeked through her fingers to look at Yelena. She seemed serious. It wasn’t a joke. She really said that. The girl could hear her own heartbeat getting faster. She couldn’t believe it was happening.

“Why? Why me?” Lily asked.

“Why not? I mean, you are smart and dedicated. I can tell. For someone in your position to get in here, need to work so much harder than I had to, and believe me, I worked my ass off to be here. On top of that, you are a kind and understanding person. I told you my story. You didn’t seem to doubt me even for a second, despite how ridiculous it sounds. On top of that, I find you very… cute.” Yelena was awkwardly scratching her face as she said that last sentence.

Lily was sure she was hearing it wrong. All those things coming out of Yelena’s mouth seemed like a dream come true. She can’t be that lucky, right?

“But then… we…” She stopped mid-sentence, but she was clearly trying to figure out what kind of relationship was now between the two of them. “Wouldn’t it be a problem for you? You know… different status and all.” Lily changed her mind and asked a different question.

Yelena reached out with her hand and took both of Lily’s hands. She had a gentle, reassuring smile on her face.

“Let me worry about that. I can deal with it, so you don’t have to worry about such things. Besides, I think the bigger issue is my… certain needs due to my powers.” Yelena turned her face away as she talked about that last part.

She was still worried about getting Lily into something she wouldn’t want. Whether she liked it or not, the powers were there, and so were the drawbacks. Yelena couldn’t change that, so she had to think about those implications as well.

“It is okay! I can handle it. I would be more than happy to help you out. Not just… when you need it.” Lily had a little smile on her face while blushing more as she said those words.

“Are you sure? It is very serious.” Yelena asked back.

Although she had already explained to Lily what these effects were, she still wanted to make sure Lily fully understood the situation. She didn’t want Lily to get into something she would later regret.

“I’m sure! Do you want me to prove it?” She had a little cheekiness in her voice.

Yelena couldn’t help herself. She slowly leaned closer, putting her hand around the girl. Lily was following her lead; she was ready. Their lips met.
