The Forgotten Godking

Goblin Chief…

Rhea had a dreamless for about two hours before finally waking up, finding herself nestled in Galen's embrace.

Looking up, she saw him smile at her with his light golden eyes filled with nothing but warmth.

"Good morning, hubby.~" Rhea said rubbing her eyes.

"Good morning, wifey." Galen echoed likewise.

"Though It should be about evening by now."

"So, what next?~"

"Let me think..."

"Your training is over for today. The only thing left for us to do is filling up the tasks of my class quest."

"Then I won't have to fight with these nasty little things anymore? Yay...~" 🥳

"Who said that? You still have one last thing to do."

"Which is?~"

"Seeing the results of your training so far."

"...How?~"

"The next chamber of this dungeon has the Boss Room, where you are going to fight the chief of these goblins along with all of his important underlings."

" But..."

"Of course there's a but...~"

"Haha..."

"But you're going to fight them blindfolded, mainly relying on your mana sense to predict their movements."

"....f*ck."

"I knew you were going to do something like this."

Saying that, she started raining his chest with punches, without much strength behind them that only made him laugh harder.

"Haa... Fine, let's do this."

A few minutes of playful fighting later, both of them stood up.

Rhea kicked open the set of double doors, which appeared grander than the previous ones so far since it's a boss room.

Then, Galen blindfolded her with a black cloth that he summoned from somewhere before pushing her inside.

Before her eyes got completely covered, Rhea noticed ten monsters standing in the middle of the vast hall.

Of them, five were level 5 goblin underlings, four of them were level 9 goblin warriors.

The last but not the least was a goblin almost twice the size of its brethren, standing at nearly the same height as her.

Holding a massive club in its muscular arms, the creature was a fearsome sight that would instantly paralyzed the weak willed individuals with fear.

Now devoid of her sight, Rhea took a deep breath and activated her mana sense, closely monitoring the movements of all the mana strands within a meter of her vicinity.

Immediately, she noticed a massive difference.

The task that felt like wading through mud before, now felt like swimming through clear water after the nap she just had.

'To think I can sense this clearly even with my eyes closed... Since I've improved so much, I'll forgive you for the hell you put me through so far, Galen.'

She thought to himself, taking out her twin daggers and heading towards the group of monsters.

Galen, who had no idea that he had just dodged a bullet by luck, stood not far away, silently watching her march forward.

As she got closer, the Goblin chief let out a deafening roar and pointed at her with his club.

Hearing the chief's orders the goblin underlings and goblin warriors race towards her, to stop her in her tracks.

One of the warriors, slightly faster than the others reached her first, the sword it held in both hands, coming down at her in an overhead swing.

Catching the blade with her daggers, she threw it back the same way it came, causing the goblin to stumble backward.

As she closed in to finish it, a spear came at her form another warrior, intending to pierce the side of her stomach.

Giving up on attacking the first monster she took a step back, sensing the spear whistling toward the place she just stood, entirely missing her.

Grabbing the handle in front of her, she pulled hard. Caught unexpectedly, the spear wielding goblin was yanked forward, flying through the air.

Just as it was about to fly past her, its neck was sliced cleanly through by one of her daggers that she held in a reverse grip.

Ignoring the monster that landed behind her with its head separated from the body, Rhea faced another goblin charging at her with a wooden shield.

When she saw the sight in her perception, she almost laughed out loud as the monster was trying to fight her with a blunt weapon, having no idea about her full strength.

With a devious smirk adorning her lips, she let it come somewhat closer before her right leg shot forward in lightning speed, crashing straight onto the shield.

The goblin warrior stood no chance against her, the force of her kick breaking through the shield and landing on its head. It was flung across the whole hall, missing the Goblin chief by just a few centimetres and landing headfirst into the opposite wall.

"KRR.... RAAAAAWWWW....."

Agitated by the insult, the Goblin Chief let out an anger filled roar and decided to enter the fray himself.

But it would take at least two seconds for the chief to reach her current position, and a lot of things can happen in that time.

Crossing through the gap she had created, Rhea appeared behind the sword wielding goblin warrior that had regained its footing just now, only for her dagger to piece its heart from the back the next moment.

The last two goblin warriors held heavy wooden clubs similar to the chief that caused their delay. Appearing before her, before they could even launch an attack with the heavy weapons, Rhea's daggers found their mark, piercing through the goblin skulls and killing them on the spot.

By the time the Goblin chief got within attacking range, even the remaining goblin underlings were dead, a wide sweep of Rhea's legs blasting apart their skulls.

Letting out a pained roar at seeing all of its underlings die before its very eyes, the chief swung its club at her with all the strength it could muster, intending to crush the hateful being into a bloody pulp.

It was such a wishful thinking.

Sliding both of her daggers on the sides of the club, Rhea easily deflected the monster's attack creating a wide opening.

Pressing against the ground with her long legs, she launched forward, one of her daggers aimed right at its head.

Yet just as the dagger was about to pierce through, a mana shield appeared out of nowhere and blocked the attack.

Though with her strength it didn't take long to break the shield, the monster used that brief delay to escape with its life, receiving only a slight cut on its forehead instead.

Looking down at the broken necklace it had worn, a protective charm that saved its life just now, the Goblin Chief felt its life flash before its eyes for a single moment.

Not wanting to go down without a fight, the chief activated its last resort – Berserk – an innate skill possessed by all dungeon bosses.

[ Skill : Berserk

Type : Innate

Skill Effect : Doubles the strength and agility for a duration of one minute.

Note : The boss will enter a weakened state after the duration of the skill. ]

The boss already had the strength and agility stats at 10.

Now with the latest boost from the skill, both of the stats suddenly surged upward dramatically.

With 20 stats on its agility, the monster's speed was just a tad slower than Rhea's own speed. { Rhea's agility stat : 26 }

But with her eyes blindfolded and her perception limited to the mana sense which covered barely a meter wide radius around her, she was at a major disadvantage.

So when the monster lashed out at her once again with its massive club, her senses only registered the attack when it was mere inches from crashing into her head with the force of a battering ram.
