The Quantum Wanderer

Chapter 36: Inspecting the mines

The first golden rays of dawn spilled through the open window, painting the tangled limbs of my harem in molten light as they stirred awake. Shandon was already draped across my chest, her lithe dragon-girl body pressed tight against mine, her sharp nails tracing lazy circles over my abdomen while her breath warmed my collarbone. I could feel every shift of her supple flesh, every teasing brush of her thigh against my hardening cock, already swollen with need for them.

Behind her, Opal stretched with feline grace, the elegant arch of her back making the sheets slide from her flawless bronze skin. The morning light caught the shimmering opalescence of her hair as she turned those piercing violet eyes toward me, her fingers curling around my length with deliberate possessiveness. "My lord… you’re already hard for us," she murmured, her voice like velvet, but the way her grip tightened told me she was far from composed.

Ruby, ever the wildfire among them, let out a breathy laugh as she wriggled closer, her full breasts pressing into my side. "Of course he is," she purred, nipping at my ear. "He knows exactly what his mate-sisters can do after all those lessons." Her hand slid down, her fingers dancing along the base of my cock in a way that made my hips twitch.

Then there was Aquamarine, always so demure, her pale blue hair spilling over her face like a veil as she shyly kissed my thigh. But the moment her tongue flicked over my balls in a slow, experimental lick, I knew her quietness was just a front. I fisted a hand in her hair and yanked her closer. "Shy girl, my ass," I growled. "Take it deeper."

And she did.

Her lips parted, sinking down on me with a wet, obscene slurp, her throat convulsing as she struggled to take more. The sound alone was filthy, and when her eyes flickered up to mine, half-lidded with submission, I groaned. "Fuck," I hissed, my fingers tightening in her hair. "That’s it, swallow me whole."

From the edge of the bed, Cecilia watched with dark, knowing eyes, her full lips curved into a wicked smirk. She had always been observant, always attuned to what drove me wild. "You like that, don’t you, my villain?" she murmured, crawling forward with predatory grace. "But you love this more."

Her fingers circled my rim, teasing, taunting, before pressing in with a single slick thrust. My cock jerked in Aquamarine’s mouth as Cecilia worked me open, her touch knowing and cruel. "Fuck!" I snarled, my hips bucking.

Siratra, ever eager, let out a breathy whimper, her demon tail lashing behind her as she pressed her naked body against my leg. "Master!" she gasped, her crimson eyes wide with worship. "Let me taste you next! Let me worship you like the God of Knowledge you are!"

"Patience, slave," I growled, but she was already sinking down next to Aquamarine, her forked tongue lapping at my shaft with desperate fervor.

Shandon, feeling possessive, nipped at my neck, her teeth sharp even in human form. "We’ve learned so much, my lord…" she panted, grinding her wet cunt against my hip. "Let us show you."

"Show me," I commanded.

And they did.

Siratra’s mouth was a furnace, her lips and tongue working me with sinful precision as she moaned around me. "You humiliated him so easily…" she gasped between strokes. "You’re everything, master!" Her devotion was intoxicating, her every breath a prayer.

But Aquamarine, my so-called shy one, shocked them all. She climbed atop me in one fluid motion, her tight, dripping pussy sinking down onto me with a cry. Her back arched, her nails raking down my chest as I gripped her hips and thrust up hard, making her scream. "M-more, my lord, please!" she begged, her voice breaking.

Ruby, never one to be left out, shoved her aside with a laugh, mounting me with reckless abandon. "Fuck, yes!" she cried, her tits bouncing as she rode me hard, her cunt clamping down like a vise. "Claim me, my lord! Make me yours!"

Opal, ever the picture of regal composure, simply bent over, presenting her perfect ass to me with an expectant glance over her shoulder. "Your pleasure is our duty," she breathed, and the obscene slap of skin as I buried myself in her tight heat echoed through the chamber.

Cecilia never stopped, her fingers fucking my ass in rhythm with my thrusts, her lips brushing my ear as she whispered, "You could rule the world…" A shudder wracked my body. "But you rule me instead."

Shandon, ever the dominant dragon, took control last, pinning me down as she rode me with slow, grinding rolls of her hips. "Even kings kneel to dragons, my lord," she teased, her golden eyes blazing with possessive fire.

Then the world shattered.

Siratra came first, her thighs clamping around my leg as her back arched, her scream ripping through the room. "G-God of Knowledge! I’m cumming!"

Ruby followed, her body seizing as she milked me dry, her cunt spasming around me. "Fill me, my lord! Please!"

Aquamarine, lost in ecstasy, rubbed her clit frantically until she came with a broken sob, her juices splattering my chest.

Cecilia never slowed, fucking my ass relentlessly until she came untouched, her submission absolute.

And Opal? She simply smiled as I spilled inside her, whispering, "A worthy lesson, my lord."

The aftermath was a tangle of sweat-slick limbs and sated sighs, the air thick with sex and power. Siratra nuzzled my thigh, her lips swollen from service. "Master… was that worthy of you?"

"Almost," I smirked, dragging her back onto my cock. "Let’s see if you can do better." The chorus of moans was my answer.

I couldn’t believe I spent two days without this.

After breakfast, we start talking about all the things that happened. Cecilia is the touching her forehead with her fingers.

“I don’t believe you did not realize that Anthon was the emperor. This is amazing. And then, a little later, you humiliate a scholar.”

“Huh? Emperor? I imagined he was high up, I didn’t realize it was that high. Oh well.”

“Oh well? Just ‘oh well’?” She sighs. “Oh well.”

I hug her, and do a peck on her lips. Now the dragonesses are making a duck face as well, so I give a peck on the lips of all the girls. Muninn makes the pose as well, but then Huginn pecks with her beak, and I think that he laughs. Apparently, everyone is a comedian.

“So, ah… Changing topics. Siratra, do you want to go to the Command school?”

“Yes, master, I would love to.”

“Well, that was fast.”

“Cecilia, would you like to go to any of those schools? Edward suggested the Magic school.”

“Magic school might be fun, I never had any formal training with magic. Mostly I got it during adventuring, sometimes colleagues will teach you something here, something there. I wouldn’t mind going, but I am not particularly drawn to it.”

“Sometimes I feel like things can get kind of boring here. I would love to do something, perhaps going on a quest sometimes? We are on the safe side nowadays, anyway.”

“You can always just ask Leopold. Heck, you could even ask Edward for something fun. You would be the first ever adventurer to get the quest directly from the upper echelon!”

“What about you, girls? Is there any activity you miss? Hunting? What else did you use to do in Drakonia?”

“I would love to do some hunting, my lord.” Ruby answered promptly.

“My lord, other than hunting, our days were spent leisurely. Not much to do, really.” Shandon answered.

“I tried to take a look at some human villages, but it never went well, my lord.” Said Aquamarine.

That answer got me thinking… If she did that in dragon form, people would run. And if she didn’t, then things would just be weird. She had no concept of clothes when we first met. I can only imagine what went through the head of a men, meeting this naked, beautiful woman, long black hair, crystal blue eyes, perfect body, coming out of the woods. Either the guy would think this to be an apparition, or he would try to get it on, and it probably would not end well.

“Shandon, Aquamarine, Opal, Ruby, would you be interested in any of the schools? They also have the Knight school, where basically humans are taught to fight.”

“Human fighting? That would be interesting, my lord.” Ruby was always excited with those things.

“I would enjoy the additional human studying, my lord.” Aquamarine offered.

“They will need someone to keep them in line, my lord.” Opal suggested.

“I would accompany my mate sisters, my lord.” Shandon concluded the topic.

“The next topic would be whether we would move to Ironhold. But since you girls would be attending school, I think that it would be a given. I don’t have a problem with changing the place we are living. What do you think, Muninn, Huginn?”

They cawed. I am hoping they are agreeing.

“Anyway, this is not an immediate decision. For you to get enrolled, we have to wait for the end of the schools cycle, so that you can enter new classes, respectively. That being said, do you want to go on a quest by the guild, so that we can get to do something new?”

“Would that be dangerous for me or Siratra?”

“I don’t think so. Right now, your skin cannot be cut, and if you get hurt internally, you can count on the spells that I set in place to regenerate whatever gets hurt. Of course, I am not saying you are immortal, but if you take some care you are going to be pretty safe. The same with you, Siratra.”

“So you are saying that you are going to use the guild’s quests as a walk in the park, just to stave off the boredom a little bit.”

“Humm… The way you say somethings, can make them sound really different than what I had in my head. But sure, we can go with that. As for the dragonesses, other than a dragon hunt, not much will be able to harm them either.

“And if we do bump into something serious, I expect to be able to help. Cecilia, what guild would be best for this? Orora or Ironhold?”

“Ironhold guild is going to be bigger, it might have better quests.”

We decide to portal back to Ironhold, and we visit the guild again. And again, we are taken to the guild master.

“Hello, how can I help you?”

“Well, we were going to look for a job to do actually.”

“Did you already take a look downstairs?”

“Not yet, everytime we enter the guild we are told to come here, so we come.”

“Do you want to give take a look downstairs? If you don't find anything you like, I can get in touch with other branches and see something to your liking.”

We go back downstairs, and start looking at the board. There are very few for adamantite adventurers. Most of them escorting nobles. There is one expedition being assembled, to investigate an insect monster infestation in a innura mine. That was a mithril level job. We go to the counter, and talk to the attendant. She looks at our tags.

“I am sorry, but we can only give this job to a mitrhil team.”

“Oh, sorry.”

I pull out my mithril tag, and put it on the counter.

“What about the rest of your team? They have to be mithril as well.”

“They are strong, believe me.”

“Sorry, rules. This is in order to guarantee your survival.”

We pick the job announcement, go up to the guild master, and pick the job. We get a map, indicating where the mines are. They are west, midway to the border with Arthuria. We go into the forest, to hide my portal magic. I portal to the air, land, and then portal the girls in. We are close to the opening of the mine, of course.

Normal travel would cost us a couple days coming, and then a couple of days back. I estimate that a normal team, in their level forties, should be able to only spend around four to six days in the travels. I am not quite interested in doing math on this, but it is nice to have an idea on how much the time of a mitrhil adventurer is worth. The job was paying 20 gold coins. They expect parties of 4 so that would make 5 gold coins for each adventurer. They were expecting 2 days coming in, 2 days getting back, and 1 day doing the investigation. Around 1 gold coin, per person, per day. That sounds reasonable. Things end up a lot easier when the travel is immediate, though.

We go inside the mines. I can see that the dragonesses do a disgusted face. Opal is trying to fake some dignity, but even her is making a face. I can see that this is not what she had in mind.

“My lord, can't we just burn everything and be done?”

“No. You see that the mine is structured with wood supports? It would destroy them, the mine would probably collapse. So no can do.”

We move along the mines, and we start hearing some sounds. We get close, and there is this thing, it looks like an ant, but it is white. It is chewing on a support in the mine. Cecilia points to it.

“Look it’s a…” The insect looks at us, and Shandon burns it to crisp. Cecilia turns to Shandon.

“We are supposed to take back proof of kill. THERE. IS. NOTHING. LEFT. There are a lot of parts that we can trade for money as well. Their shell is valuable for armor, their pincers can be used for weapons, some of them have a spit gland with a material that can be used to reinforce roads and so on.”

“Ok.”

“So, next one we kill, but no fire, ok?”

“Cecilia, should we clean out the nest?”

“WHAT? NOOOO… This is an initial mission, so that the guild learns what monsters are here. The following mission is going to be an extermination mission, with probably a lot of mithril adventurers. We are talking about 8 teams, probably, considering the kind of monster. That thing we saw is a colony insectoid. That was probably a worker. These colonies generally have also soldiers, that are a level above, as well as kings and a queen. The kings pack a punch, while the queen is more of a reproduction thing.”

I turn my senses on, but it is still difficult to see how big it is. We keep going, and find a place that was being mined, a wall of granite. I enhance my senses, then place mana in my hand and I smack the rock. By watching the flow of mana, I can see the structure is around us. Some of the tunnels are square, but there are some round ones, that go into a maze of tunnels, several of them ending in a larger cave.

This thing is huge. The square tunnels are kind of short if you compare to the round ones. The round ones expand to several miles. I am not good at evaluating distances, but we are probably talking of something around 5 miles.

“I think the nest might be around 5 miles wide. There are a lot of tunnnels ending in smaller caves, and a lot of them end in this huge cave in the bottom.”

Cecilia holds her chin.

“Well, we can just get one of the workers and get back. Should we wait the 5 days before handing it in?”

“We are going to deal with the guild master, and he was the one I already sold a dragon to. So we don't have to worry about it.”

We continue walking, getting closer to the place where the square tunnels connect to the round ones. Sure enough, another insect come appears. Ruby is the one that asks.

“My lord, may I kill this one? Please?”

“Sure.”

I imagine that Cecilia just saw Ruby disappear, this small explosion. And then Ruby is covered with green goo, and green goo on the walls, ceiling, and the insect is gone. Ruby punched it. With too much strength. I can see Cecilia's vein almost popping out. She probably never had this kind of problem before.

“Girls, we are supposed to use our swords. We put the sword on top of their heads, and then that’s it. It's supposed to be cleaner.”

We keep walking, until we find another one. Muninn, on my shoulder, caws. Sure, I guess.

“Go ahead.”

He flies, and hits the insect on the head. His does this fly by, and hits the insect on the top of the head, killing it.

He lands on the floor, and shakes his paws alternatively, cleaning them. He then flies back to my shoulder. Cecilia is happy.

“Nice one, Muninn! That's exactly it! Now we have proof of kill, and we can get a couple of gold coins on the carcass.”

Ruby was right behind her, making faces and pretending to talk. Cecilia turned around, but by then Ruby had a straight face. I bag the thing. We go back to the entrance of the mine, and I use some earth magic to lock the monsters inside. They could be really dangerous to people if they start coming out. We portal back to the forest outside Ironhold, and meet up with the guild master.

“Hi.”

“Hello. Do you need anything else for the quest?”

“Not really. We just have to go to the incognito dismantling room for a minute, please.”

We go there to the underground room. I take out the insect and put it on the ground.

“What is this?”

“This is the infestation. We only brought back one, for the job.”

“You only killed one?”

“Actually we killed three, but the last one was in a better shape to bring in.”

Cecilia was holding the bridge of her nose. She murmured to herself.

“Now I understand Leopold's complaints with headaches.”

I continued the explanation.

“I don't know how big it would make the nest, but I am guessing that it has around 10 miles from one point to another. It is made of several tunnels, some of them connected to a bigger one, some of them connected to a bigger cave in the bottom. Most tunnels end up in a larger cave.”

“The larger tunnel actually had its exit on the other side of the montain that the mine is in, but is either incomplete or closed.”

“My lord, wouldn't that be kind of close to the nursery?” Opal asked, she had her hand on her chin.

“I don't know if it would be close, we are talking about some hundred miles.”

“Exactly, it would be too close. With the bad smell, dragons would probably just burn the whole thing. Even hatchlings and young adults can be a little territorial, specially in the nursery. My best guess is that this thing opened a tunnel there, realized it was in a hunting ground, and closed it up again.”

The other dragonesses agreed with that. The guild master was apparently a little bit concerned with this kind of talk.

“How did you get there and back here in less than a day?”

“I have my ways.”

I made a face that I didn't want to talk any further, and he just settled on the matter.

“Do you have any idea on how many monsters would be in that colony?”

“I have no idea. But a lot. I had trouble counting the number of caves.”

Cecilia pitched in.

“Are you going to assembly an excursion? What is the payout going to be?”

“Right now, I don't know. I was expecting to have something smaller on my hands. This one is going to be discussed among the upper echelon. I don't have any idea on the amount of money that this is going to make circulate. It is going to be a good deal for the armies, the armors being made of this chitin is harder than the ones made of iron, being a little better than steel. The level is going to be tough, though, the kings are as hard to kill as a fenrir. They spit acid. So anything other than a mithril party and, well, you, would not be able to kill one.

“The one you brought could be killed by a steel adventurer. A soldier, probably a mithril adventurer can do it. So I don't know. It's above my pay grade.

“Anyway, I consider the investigation complete. Come with me to my office, I will provide payment.”

He paid us 25 gold coins. Five were for the corpse. I understood that the carcass of a worker would be 5 gold coins, a soldier would accrue 20, a king would be a platinum coin, and the queen would be proof of nest extermination, because it is impossible to get to the queen without having everything else dead beforehand. So while the queen was just big, but not really battle oriented, she would be worth some coin as a nest extermination quest proof of completion.

We went back to Frolk to wash up and have our supper. Cecilia tried to contact Leopold using the guild Comm gem, but he was gone for the day.

This was a fun day.
