Chapter 31: Vaporvale
The first rays of dawn painted the chamber in gold as I stirred, muscles still humming with the satisfaction of yesterday’s dinner. The emperor’s court had underestimated me—and by extension, them—but I’d made it clear: offend what’s mine, and you lose more than pride. Now, the scent of arousal and devotion clung to the air, my harem already awake and eager to prove their gratitude.
Shandon’s lips were the first to grace my skin, her human form draped over my thigh like a living cloak. “Good morning, my lord,” she purred, her fingers tracing the outline of my cock through the sheets. Her touch was measured, practiced—a student of pleasure, not yet frantic. “The others insisted I wake you… properly.”
Ruby didn’t wait for permission. She straddled my waist in a flash of crimson hair and wicked laughter, her hips grinding down before I could scoff. “None of that proper nonsense,” she teased, her nails raking my chest. “You deserve enthusiasm first.” Her mouth crashed onto mine, all teeth and tongue, while her hand yanked the sheets away.
Aquamarine lurked at the edge of the bed, her blue eyes wide but burning. Shy, always shy—until she wasn’t. Her fingers twisted in the hem of her sheer nightgown, but the moment Ruby moaned into my mouth, Aqua’s restraint snapped. She crawled forward, her lips wrapping around the head of my cock in a single, slick motion. No hesitation. The vibration of her hum traveled straight to my spine.
Opal arched a brow from the foot of the bed, her dignity intact even as she palmed her own breasts through silk. “Must you all be so predictable?” she chided, though her thighs squeezed together. “Our lord deserves finesse.” Her hand slid down her stomach, toward the apex of her thighs—teasing me with her own need.
Cecilia watched them all from the doorway, her human fragility a stark contrast to the dragons’ supernatural grace. But her submissiveness? Absolute. She’d learned quickly—anal was my weakness, and she’d weaponized it. “My villain,” she murmured, stepping forward with a vial of oil. “Let me remind you why this kingdom bows.” Her fingers dripped with it, already circling her own asshole in promise.
Then there was Siratra. The demoness didn’t speak. She didn’t need to. Her chains—ornamental, now—clinked as she pressed her forehead to the floor beside the bed. “Master,” she breathed, her voice a sinful rasp. “Your slave exists to serve.” Her tongue darted out to lick a stripe up Aqua’s thigh, then mine, worshiping where the dragon’s mouth had been.
The bed became a battlefield of lips, teeth, and desperate hands. Ruby’s enthusiasm had her riding me raw, her cunt milking my cock with every bounce. Shandon’s nails dug into my hips, her pace controlled but relentless. Aqua—shy, sweet Aqua—had two fingers buried in her own pussy while she sucked me deeper, her moans garbled around my shaft.
Opal’s composure shattered when I grabbed her wrist, yanking her forward. “Finesse later,” I growled. “Suck my balls now.” Her shocked gasp turned into a whimper, but she obeyed, her lips sealing around the sensitive flesh with a hum.
Cecilia didn’t ask. She climbed onto the bed, her back to me, her oiled ass pressing against my tip. “Claim me,” she begged, and I didn’t hesitate. Her scream as I sheathed myself in her tight hole was fucking art.
Siratra’s hands were everywhere—kneading Ruby’s tits, spreading Aqua’s thighs wider, guiding Cecilia’s hips. Her devotion was feral, her every touch screaming thank you for protecting us.
And then—Aquamarine pulled away, her lips swollen, her eyes dark. “My turn,” she whispered. Before I could react, she flipped Ruby onto her back, pinned her wrists, and licked a stripe up her slit. Ruby’s back arched, her scream muffled by Opal’s kiss.
The dragons moved like a single entity, their “mate sister” bond turning the room into a symphony of pleasure. Cecilia’s ass clenched around me, her whimpers music. Siratra’s tongue found my balls just as Shandon’s lips circled my cock again, taking me to the brink.
“Cum for us, my lord,” Shandon murmured.
As if I had a choice.
The climax tore through me, ropes of white painting Aqua’s cheek, Opal’s chest, Ruby’s open mouth. Cecilia collapsed, her ass still gripping me, and Siratra immediately licked the spend from my softening cock, her demonic hunger insatiable.
Panting, I surveyed my harem—my devotion-made-flesh. “Class dismissed,” I rasped.
And they laughed, already reaching for me again.
As usual, there was the guild’s breakfast, and then our secret breakfast. After we finished eating and cleaning up, we sat on a table, and Cecilia brought the map and notes that Leopold had gathered for us.
“Most of the spots that Leopold marked are vacation cities for nobles. If we stay in the noble district, we are going to have additional luxury, but it is going to be more expensive. It may be an alternative in term of bed size, though.”
“Do you think it is worth it?”
“Well, I don’t see us eating at those places, actually. We can visit some sweet cafés, but it is going to be hard to find a restaurant that is going to serve something like dragon’s meat. And we have to find somewhere with a large enough bed, in order to avoid in-fighting.”
“In-fighting? What do you mean?”
“Girls, what do you think the criteria should be to choose the people sharing his bed?”
“Age, “ Opal said.
“Fire control levels, “ Ruby said.
“Slaves should be kept always at a hand’s distance, “ said Siratra.
“See? Are you going to decide?” Cecilia continued. Shandon and Aquamarine were still thinking of a criteria that would benefit them in particular. I smile. They really know how to make me happy.
“So, we are going to need a place that has a large enough bed. My suggestion is asking in the guild, and checking a couple of inns around the guild. If there is not an adventurer’s inn, we can try the noble’s district ones.”
“How much do you think those are going to cost?”
“Typically, it is going to cost a gold for the room, and one silver per person for the food. Around 1 gold and seven silver. Depending on the place, they may charge 2 gold, 4 silver.”
“Ok, it is expensive. But as long as we are not going to live forever that way, we can do it. I did get some cash on a couple of things I sold the guild, remember? We can try for a couple of days, if we feel it is not worth it, we can always leave and do it differently.”
“What about coming in and out of the noble’s district?”
“Well, on those situations, we can get permits, provided you state that we are officially your girls. Ready for the big step, stud?”
“What big step? We sleep together everyday, we eat together everyday. I thought that ship had sailed already.”
I received a group hug that started with Cecilia and Siratra, and then was joined by the dragonesses. Even Muninn and Huginn landed on top of my head.
“Now, what cities are we looking at?”
“We have a couple. There is this one, it is a capital that has this bay close to it. The bay is closed, and the water monsters were hunted down inside it, so it has some safe beaches available. Some of them are reserved for nobles, and they have services, like bars that are on the sand. They can serve you drinks on the beach.
“There is this one, that has a hot spring theme. There are several hot bath inns in the city, they are supposed to be therapeutical, to rejuvenate the skin. I hear that it makes the skin beautiful.”
I look at the girls, and apparently we have a winner. I wonder if they know just how much Cecilia is playing them. I am sold, just because it is going to make them happy. I remember my previous life, and going to a place like this, reserved for nobles, would be really something. As a young adult, I had been to some other cities, traveling by car. I had some very nice trips, 3 guys in a car going to carnival celebrations in cities around the south coast. We rented out local’s condos. Even the best of those times are not even close to my routine now. And now going to a place where I would be served, that would be a nice experience.
The girls were talking among themselves, the dragonesses were asking Cecilia how their skin was going to improve, and Cecilia would say that it would shine, and give it some mystical improvement.
I was wondering how would there be a kind of noble vacation place. Some of the distances were quite long. Cecilia explained me that higher nobles had resources. For carriages, there was the option of enhancing horses with tools, or taming monsters. A bicorn would pull four times the load of a horse, double the speed. Roads were far from the ley lines, so generally there were no monsters, but nobles would generally travel with some guards. For sea, hired wind mages or water mages could speed up the trip considerably, and also serve as a level of defense against the monsters. Nobody would venture out in the open sea, though, for fear of finding something they would not be able to deal with. Of course, all of this was pretty expensive, so it was not possible to employ this for a large number of ships, since mages are few and far between, but for a single ships and people with resources, this should be no problem.
We ended up deciding to go to Vaporvale the next day. I go there before by myself, to find a place I can get us portaled to, and bring in the girls, and the crows, of course. I tell Muninn and Huginn to not open their third eye, because this might phreak people out.
We enter the guild. It is pretty large, and there are a lot of adventurers around, apparently busy. We are hit with normal sudden silence. My girls apparently have that effect on people. One of the guild attendants get out from the counter, and goes up. A minute later, the guild master appear at the top of the stairs.
“You!”
A lot of people look at the guild master. She is a woman, as big as a man. She is around her late thirties, her hair is tied back. She wears leather pants and a white shirt.
“You, with the crows. Come up. And bring the rest of your party.”
We follow her into her office. Once the door is shut, she applies the silence spell.
“Hi, I am Bellatrix, I am the guild master. What is your name?”
“I am Marcelo.”
I show her my steel tag. She gives me a long look, up and down. She takes a look at the crows, and at the girls. Her face shows that she is intrigued, but she doesn’t really want to ask any questions.
“Ok, so I am going to assume that you are the Marcelo. Though I was looking for a person with only one crow, not two. You do realize that this is… Creepy, right?”
“Yes, things happened. You can inform Leopold about the second crow. Her name is Huginn.”
“Oh? Leopold? Hum. I see. Good for you.”
“What happened?”
“Nothing, I thought you were just some noble child or something. Anyway, I was told to provide you anything you need. How can I help you?”
“I am actually a mithril, and I wanted to get the permit so that my girls here are allowed to get in the noble’s district.”
“Ok, that’s easy enough. Are they also adventurers?”
“Yes, but they are all iron.”
“Can I have all the tags, please? Theirs and yours.”
We handed the tags, and she goes downstairs. After sometime, she comes back up with a little metal plate for each of my girls.
“This is a permit to enter the noble’s district. Please don’t loose it. Anything else?”
“No, this is all.”
“Ok, let me know if you need anything else.”
We left her office, and we go downstairs. I am always curious, so I take a look at the quest board. There are a lot of high paying escort missions, requiring mithril adventurers, generally paying around 60 gold to the team. The escort missions requiring steel adventurers were around 6 gold for the team. There were some monster killing quests south of the road, where there was a forest. Depending on the monster, it was from 7 gold for a plated rhino, all the way to a Fenrir, that they were offering 20 gold for the proof of death, plus another 80 gold for the Fenrir carcass. That is actually not bad. We could get ourselves a couple of platinum coins in a day if we wanted to. I was kind of worried if we needed to get additional funds in the far future.
The city itself was pretty much around Orora’s size. It made sense. It was a capital, but for a small country. Cecilia mentioned that this country did not have a large guard, that this guard was mostly used as city security, and not for war. This happened because it was supposed to be neutral, and the nations around, Arthuria and the Empire, would help it in case of war. That happened because nobles of these two countries liked to visit.
We enter the noble’s district, and I have a surprise. The noble’s district is way bigger than Orora’s. It is as big as the one in Angelica, the Holy Kingdom’s capital. Of course, in their case it wasn’t called noble’s district, it was called cathedral district. Weirdly enough, it was the biggest noble’s district between all three Major Nations.
Just like the noble’s districts in other cities, it has some luxury stores, restaurants. The amount of inns is much larger, though. I notice Opal smelling the air.
“Hey, Opal, what are you smelling?”
“My lord, the air is very humid around here. I can smell it coming from all those inns. But I can also smell some traces of sulfur, and only some inns actually have that. If I had to guess, only some of these offer real volcanic hot springs.”
Cecilia seems enthusiastic.
“By. The. Gods! They can actually find the good stuff! Opal, can you find the most pronounced one?”
Opal leads us. The other dragonesses start feeling the smell too. I am curious.
“Opal, do you spend anytime close to volcanoes or volcanic hot springs, for that matter?”
“Yes my lord, there are some volcanic islands west of Drakonia, and we were allowed to visit there. There are some real hot springs there, but I don’t think that… “ She looks at Cecilia, “ frail creatures could stay there. The water is at the right point, boiling, but the air is unsanitary for other species.”
Ruby completements.
“We can even dry out if we go close to magma, we don’t have to use spells, the feeling of water drying out on its own is kind of refreshing.”
Somehow, after this, I don’t think the dragonesses are going to be quite satisfied with the mild presentation we are going to have here. I thought that Cecilia would pay more attention to this than she did. I am guessing that things like this are not even shocking her anymore.
Siratra inclined her head.
“Master, what is Drakonia?”
“I forgot to tell you. Remember the beach we went to, where you flew with Aquamarine?”
“Yes.”
“I was afraid that doing it here, in Andrea, would bring some chaos. You did notice there was a lot of forest there, right?”
“Do you mean there are other land masses in the planet?”
“Yes. Andrea is one, Drakonia is the other one. Do you know the area in the mountains that we call the dragon land?”
“Yes.”
“That’s the Nursery for them. They bring their young here, away from elders, so that the younglings do not become snacks. They are raised until adulthood in the Nursery, and then they come back to Drakonia.”
“Oh. OOOHHH… So, the one you gave the demons is a small one?”
“It is an adult, but then you have elders as well. They are bigger and stronger.”
Opal continued for me.
“Your master is a council dragon. He has the majority of the council votes, so his word is the last one.”
All of dragonesses nod proudly.
We get to the inn, and we get disappointed. I can see that at one point it must have been well, but it is worn down. I can see that it is clean, and apparently there are people trying to maintain it, but some of the wood that should have been replaced was fixed. And there were some more signs of stuff like this. The carpet, that at some point must have been this beautiful swan in a lake figure, was also worn down in the middle, specially right by the front desk.
We were attended by two women, probably mother and daughter. The flinched a little at the sight of me and the girls, probably Muninn and Huginn on my shoulders, but they recovered immediately. They both wore silk kimonos, with a big bow on the back, like a lot of women in this part of town. Their hair was up, and they had some simple makeup extending the eye in the diagonal.
“Good afternoon, honored guests.”
“Good afternoon. How are you? What is this place?”
“This is Hikari inn. But I am afraid, honored guest, that we will not be able to provide you with meals here.”
I shook the mother’s and the daughter’s hands, and I noticed the calluses. They looked like really hard workers. I am a sucker when it comes to people trying their best.
“Why can’t you provide meals?”
“We can’t buy meat. The Dragon Group is charging too much. Some other inns are not having the same prices, so try to get by without meals.”
“Ok… How much is the stay?”
“Five silver.”
This is half than what Cecilia had told me. These women are trying to keep it afloat.
“Can we see the room available?”
“Of course. Please accompany me, honored guest.”
We went through a corridor. It was not all that bad. Everything was clean, no mold. Something worn here and there, that should be replaced, but not that bad. One thing I noticed is the smell of sulfur coming around, and the lack of other guests. Having a more private place was a good thing for me, with the girls and all. Let’s see how the room is.
The room was big, it had this enormous bed in the middle of the room, almost as big as ours. The sheets were clean, it smelled clean, with a strong smell of sulfur of something that looked like a door to a balcony. I opened the door, and it was this Japanese style hot spring bath. The water was hot and bubbly, and there was a lion face pouring water in this rock lake shaped pool.
We go back to the lobby.
“What are your names?”
“I am Akiko, the inn was named after my daughter, Hikari.”
“Hikari, what would you need to prepare the food? If I brought the ingredients, how much would you charge us to prepare the food, drinks, and whatnot?”
“We would ask three large copper a day per person, honored guest, but we would make sure you have food available the whole day.”
Truth of the matter was that the dragonesses ate for almost 20 people each. I saw Shandon having 18 servings in one go, and I can’t say she was full. Every time we have our barbecues, we consume around 50 pounds of meat.
“What if our group was of 83 people?”
“What do you mean, honored guest?”
“Don’t worry, just answer. What if our group were, instead of 6 people and two pets you see here, 82 people and the two pets?”
“Well, honored guest… If we kept the price…”
“2 gold, 4 silver and six copper per day, without any discounts.”
“If you provide the food, we would be happy to cook for that amount of people for 1 gold and 5 silver per day.”
“Ok, let me discuss this with them.”
“Of course, honored guest.”
We go outside. We see an inn that has a lot of movement around it.
“Opal, what about that one? Do you smell the volcanic water smell coming from there?”
“Not really, my lord. This place has the strongest smell. I think it is kind of spreading out in the area. This one has a lot of other smells around, of parfums, humans, oils. But no volcanic water.”
We enter that one and investigate the prices.
“Hi, good afternoon.”
“Welcome… gents.”
He saw my mithril adventurer tag, and apparently that was a turn off.
“What are your fares?”
“The person that has to ask generally cannot pay. The room for the communal bath is going to be 2 gold. Meals are five silver per person, per day. Of course, with that price, you will be offered Fenrir steak. All that you can eat.”
“Do you have rooms with private baths?”
“We do have some high nobility rooms. They are five gold a day. The meals will have the same cost, five silver per person, per day.”
I call the girls, and we go outside, to talk.
“I think that we are going to get better treated in the Hikari in. Everything is clean, and they are a lot more willing to treat us well. Cecilia, do you think that those two in the Hikari would recognize dragon’s meat if told them that that is the meat we are providing?”
“That’s a tough one. It is too far from anyone’s senses. They would have to be too high level to recognize it, without comparing it to something. And I wouldn’t expect them to ever having contact with it. It might be easier to get recognized by this last one, assuming that they have a very high level chef or something.
“But there is another problem. It smells fishy that the Hikari inn does not get access to good quality meat. They could probably buy from the guild, the guild doesn’t overcharge so much. A whole Fenrir will give the adventurer about a platinum. That means 100 gold coins. Out of those, you have some high yield on the leather, that will sell for 70 gold. The hard material, like fangs and bones, that can be used to smith materials, or enhance weapons, will sell for another 40 gold. The meat that humans enjoy is just 10 gold. And that is a lot of meat, somewhere like 1200 to 1500 pounds of trimmed deboned meat.”
“You know a lot about this.”
“You do realize that, other than being the common sense in this group, I actually work in a guild branch, right?”
I laughed a little. But then back to math. For barbecue math, you generally estimate a ceiling of a pound of meat for each person, for each meal. That meant that they would get 1200 meals from each Fenrir. Even if we assume that each person is getting 3 meals in a day, that would mean 400 days. And it is just not possible to eat that much meat in a day. Except for Shandon, Opal, Aquamarine and Ruby, obviously.
That number would mean, on the low end, 200 gold received, or 190 gold profit.
“Does Fenrir go bad?”
“Nope.”
I understand that there is a surcharge in the prices when you cook, you also have to pay rent, you have to pay the people, you have to keep the structure. I don’t mind paying for all that when I am taking the girls out. Suddenly, it hits me.
“How expensive would the Fenrir meat have to be, to force Hikari inn to jack the prices? And why wouldn’t they just buy the meat from the guild?”
“By the gods! My hubby is so smart!”
I can feel the sarcasm, and I noticed that Siratra did as well, but the dragonesses were just smiling and nodding. Besides, they had some hard time grasping the whole money dynamics. It wasn’t really a part of their universe for the last… would it be rude to ask Opal her age?
If we were to use Hikari inn, we might even get away with dragon meat, of which we had a lot, actually.
