Chapter 18: Arrival of the Void
The Azure Veil Grand Sect Tournament was held once every fifty years on the massive floating island known as the Central Profound Arena. Suspended high above the clouds in the neutral territory between the major domains, the island was enormous, large enough to host hundreds of thousands of spectators, dozens of competition stages, and grand pavilions for every participating power.
Today, it was alive with activity.
Hundreds of flying ships, spirit beasts, and spatial teleportation gates brought cultivators from across the continent. Banners of every major sect and clan fluttered proudly in the wind. The air hummed with spiritual energy and excited chatter.
Among the arriving forces was the delegation from the Primordial Void Immortal Clan.
A majestic black-and-purple flying ship, emblazoned with the ancient emblem of the Void Empress, descended slowly toward the designated landing platform. The ship was grand but showed clear signs of age, faded runes and repaired sections that spoke of the clan’s long decline. Yet today, the atmosphere surrounding it felt different.
Stronger, Prouder and More dangerous.
The Empress stood at the bow of the ship, Ling Zihan’s cold, arrogant persona perfectly in place. Her long silver-white hair flowed dramatically in the high-altitude wind. She wore an exquisite set of dark purple and black robes that hugged her perfect figure, accentuating her full breasts, narrow waist, and long legs. Her crimson eyes swept over the bustling island with icy indifference.
Behind her stood Ling Qingmei and several elders, along with the main tournament participants. Su Qinglan remained a step behind the Empress, eyes downcast and posture obedient, though her newly strengthened 8th layer Qi Condensation aura was noticeable.
As the ship settled onto the platform, many eyes turned toward them.
“Look, it’s the Void Clan.”
“They actually showed up this time? After three consecutive humiliations?”
“Their Young Mistress supposedly broke through to Spiritual Sea Realm recently. I wonder if it’s true…”
Whispers spread quickly through the gathered crowds. Many disciples from other sects watched with mockery, curiosity, or open hostility.
The Heavenly Radiance Sect’s delegation had already arrived earlier. Their grand golden ship dominated one of the largest platforms. Saintess Mu Hui stood prominently at the front, her voluptuous figure impossible to miss in her radiant white-and-gold dress. The moment the Void Clan’s ship landed, her amethyst-purple eyes locked onto Ling Zihan with burning intensity.
A cold, dangerous smile curved Mu Hui’s full red lips.
“So, you came,” she whispered to herself. “Good.”
The Void Clan delegation disembarked with dignity. The Empress walked at the front, her steps graceful yet filled with overwhelming presence. Every movement radiated natural supremacy. Ling Qingmei and the elders followed closely, while the younger disciples tried their best to match their Young Mistress’s aura.
A group of Heavenly Radiance disciples blocked their path near the entrance to the central grounds.
“Well, well,” a tall young master from the Radiance Sect sneered, crossing his arms. “If it isn’t the fallen Void Clan. Still clinging to that floating relic of yours? I heard your Young Mistress had a lucky breakthrough. How adorable.”
Several Radiance disciples laughed mockingly.
The Empress stopped. Her crimson eyes shifted slowly toward the speaker. The temperature around her seemed to drop.
Before anyone from the Void Clan could respond, she took one step forward.
The Radiance young master suddenly felt an overwhelming pressure crash down on him. His knees buckled, and he dropped to the ground with a heavy thud, blood leaking from the corner of his mouth.
The laughter died instantly.
The Empress looked down at him with cold disdain.
“Know your place, insect,” she said softly, yet her voice carried to everyone nearby. “The next time you open your mouth in front of this Young Mistress, I will rip out your tongue and feed it to you.”
The surrounding area fell into stunned silence. Even some elders from other sects raised their eyebrows in surprise.
Saintess Mu Hui watched the exchange from afar, her purple eyes gleaming with dark excitement and obsession. She licked her lips unconsciously.
There it is… that presence…
The Empress continued walking forward as if nothing had happened. The Radiance disciples quickly parted, fear and anger mixing on their faces. No one else dared block their path.
The group made their way toward the Void Clan’s assigned pavilion. It was grand but noticeably smaller and less luxurious than those given to the top sects. The Empress’s expression remained cold and aloof, showing no reaction to the slight.
Once inside the private pavilion, Ling Qingmei finally spoke, her voice filled with concern.
“Zihan, was that necessary? Provoking them so openly on the first day…”
The Empress turned, a faint, dangerous smile on her lips.
“Yes, Mother. It was necessary. Let them fear us from the beginning. Let them underestimate me while secretly dreading what I can do. Fear is the foundation of respect.”
She swept her gaze across the gathered Void Clan members.
“Listen carefully. During this tournament, you will show no weakness. Fight with everything you have. Win where you can. But most importantly, watch and learn. The real war begins after the opening ceremony.”
They all nodded solemnly. “We understand.”

As the afternoon sun bathed the Central Profound Arena in golden light, the grand opening ceremony of the Azure Veil Grand Sect Tournament finally commenced.
Hundreds of thousands of spectators filled the colossal central arena, a floating island so vast that entire mountains could fit within its boundaries. Tiered seating rose like colossal steps around the central fighting stages, packed with cultivators from every corner of the continent. Nobles, merchants, rogue cultivators, and representatives from smaller sects all gathered to witness the event that occurred only once every fifty years.
Above the arena, countless floating projection arrays shimmered in the sky, ready to broadcast every major moment across the entire Azure Veil Continent. The air buzzed with spiritual energy, excited chatter, and the occasional burst of powerful auras as various sects showed off their prestige.
A group of exalted elders from neutral supreme powers, including representatives from the Eternal Heaven Pavilion and the Profound Dao Alliance, stepped onto the central grand stage to officiate the ceremony. Their long speeches praising the tradition, glory, and significance of the tournament seemed to stretch on forever, filled with flowery language and political undertones.
Finally, the representative from the Heavenly Radiance Sect was invited to speak.
Saintess Mu Hui ascended the central stage with graceful, deliberately seductive steps. Her presence alone caused a stir among the crowd. The radiant white-and-gold dress clung to her exaggerated, voluptuous body like a second skin. Her massive, heavy breasts strained dangerously against the sacred fabric, rising and falling with each breath and drawing countless heated, lustful gazes from male disciples across the arena. Her narrow waist flared dramatically into wide, fertile hips and a plump, perfectly shaped ass that swayed hypnotically as she walked. Long crimson-purple hair cascaded down her back like a river of blood and night, while her amethyst-purple eyes scanned the crowd with cold, fanatical intensity.
She stopped at the centre of the stage, her full red lips curving into a confident, righteous smile.
“Today marks the beginning of a new era!” Mu Hui’s voice rang out powerfully, amplified by grand formations to reach every corner of the massive island. “An era where true justice prevails! Where the weak and treacherous are exposed for what they are, and the strong claim their rightful glory under the eternal radiance!”
Her words ignited the crowd. Cheers erupted, especially from the large Heavenly Radiance Sect delegation.
Mu Hui’s purple eyes swept across the arena with deliberate slowness, lingering meaningfully on the Void Clan’s pavilion for several long seconds. Her gaze was sharp, obsessive, and filled with barely concealed killing intent.
“Especially those who cling desperately to fallen legacies and forgotten betrayals,” she continued, her voice dripping with venom. “They will learn their rightful place beneath the heel of true power. The time of hollow ancient names is over. Only the righteous shall rise!”
A thunderous cheer exploded from the Radiance Sect supporters. Many disciples raised their fists, shouting slogans of justice and supremacy. The atmosphere grew electric with fervour.
In the Void Clan’s VIP seating area, the Empress sat calmly on her throne-like chair, her expression unchanging. Her silver-white hair shimmered softly in the sunlight as she watched the spectacle with cold, regal indifference. Only Su Qinglan, standing obediently behind her, could sense the faint, dark amusement radiating from her Mistress.
How amusing, the Empress thought inwardly. This hypocritical whore dares to lecture about betrayal while hiding behind a mask of righteousness.
When the Heavenly Radiance Sect’s speech finally concluded amid roaring applause, it was the Void Clan’s turn to be introduced.
The announcer’s voice boomed across the arena:
“Representing the Primordial Void Immortal Clan —Young Mistress Ling Zihan!”
A strange, expectant silence fell over the massive crowd. Many had come specifically to see the rumoured genius who had broken through to Spiritual Sea Realm at such a young age.
The Empress rose gracefully from her seat. Every movement was filled with absolute poise and natural authority. She stepped onto the central stage, her dark purple and black robes flowing elegantly around her perfect figure. Her long silver-white hair danced in the wind like moonlight given form, and her crimson eyes swept across the hundreds of thousands of spectators with cold, regal indifference.
She stood tall and silent for a moment, allowing the tension to build.
Then, in a voice that was not particularly loud, yet somehow reached every single person in the arena through her refined spiritual power, she spoke:
“The Void Clan has returned.”
Simple words.
Yet they carried the weight of centuries of glory, betrayal, decline, and now, resurgence.
For a few heartbeats, the entire arena was deathly silent.
Then, the reactions came in waves.
Many laughed openly. Some sneered, while others shouted mocking comments. “Returned? After being beaten like dogs for decades?”
However, a small but significant number of people, the more perceptive elders, hidden experts, and sharp-minded young geniuses, felt a strange chill run down their spines. There was something in the Empress’s voice, in her presence, that felt… wrong. Too heavy. Too ancient.
Saintess Mu Hui’s eyes narrowed dangerously from her position on the opposite side of the stage. Her voluptuous body tensed as she stared at the silver-haired beauty. That voice… that aura… it stirred something deep and obsessive within her.
The Empress did not speak further. She simply turned and walked back to her pavilion with the same graceful, unhurried steps, her silver hair flowing behind her like a banner of defiance.
The opening ceremony continued with grand displays of power from various sects. Dazzling technique demonstrations lit up the sky. Ceremonial exhibition matches between top disciples showcased incredible martial prowess. Throughout it all, the tension between the Void Clan and the Heavenly Radiance Sect simmered like a volcano ready to erupt.
The Azure Veil Grand Sect Tournament had officially begun.
And the reborn Void Empress sat calmly among her people, her crimson eyes gleaming with cold calculation.
The stage was set.
Now, it was time to remind the world why she had once stood at the absolute pinnacle of the continent.
