The Void Empress Returns: A F*tanari’s Path to Immortal Domination

Chapter 12: Shadow Purge

The night was deep and silent across the drifting islands of the Void Empress Sky Palace. Most of the clan had long since retired to their quarters, still buzzing with excitement and awe after the Young Mistress’s overwhelming display of power earlier that day.

But deep beneath one of the smaller, rarely visited outer floating islands, three men huddled in a hidden underground cavern, completely unaware that death itself was coming for them.

The Void Empress moved through the shadows like a phantom. Her silver-white hair flowed behind her as she stepped through a spatial rift she had created, emerging silently at the entrance of the concealed cavern. Her crimson eyes glowed faintly with cold killing intent. Thanks to the Void Soul Binding Sutra and the information Su Qinglan had willingly spilled during their long night of passion, locating this pathetic hideout had been child’s play.

She could hear their panicked whispers long before they sensed her presence.

“…still no signal from Qinglan. Something is very wrong…”

The Empress stepped into the cavern, her dark purple robes blending with the shadows. Black-purple void mists swirled lazily around her figure.

The three male spies froze the moment they felt the overwhelming aura descend upon them. Their faces turned deathly pale as they spun around to face the silver-haired beauty standing at the entrance.

“You…!” one of them gasped, recognition and terror flashing in his eyes. “Ling Zihan!”

The Empress smiled, it was a cold, beautiful, and utterly merciless smile.

“You have been hiding in my home like rats for years,” she said softly, her voice echoing with ancient authority. “Tonight, the rats die.”

The senior spy, the most experienced of the three, reacted first. He roared and unleashed a desperate attack, channelling all his late Qi Condensation power into a blazing palm strike infused with radiant flame Qi.

“Die, you bitch!”

The Empress didn’t even move. She simply raised one hand. A wave of black-purple void energy erupted forward, swallowing the flame palm instantly. The attack vanished as if it had never existed, devoured by the void.

Before the man could scream, she appeared in front of him in a flicker of spatial step. Her delicate hand plunged straight into his chest with terrifying ease. Black-purple energy exploded from her palm inside his body.

CRACK!

His ribcage shattered like glass. The man’s eyes bulged in agony as void energy ravaged his internal organs. The Empress twisted her hand brutally, then ripped his heart out in one clean motion. Blood sprayed across the cavern walls as the man collapsed to the ground, twitching violently before going still. His face was frozen in an expression of utter horror.

The second spy tried to flee, scrambling toward a hidden escape tunnel in blind panic.

“Where do you think you’re going?” the Empress asked calmly.

She flicked her wrist. A tendril of void energy shot forward like a spear, piercing through the back of his knee and shattering the bone. The man screamed as he fell. Before he could crawl away, another tendril wrapped around his throat and lifted him into the air.

The Empress walked slowly toward him, her crimson eyes glowing with dark pleasure. She tightened the void rope around his neck until his face turned purple, then slammed him against the cavern wall with bone-crushing force.

“You dared to use one of my own people against me?” she whispered, her voice dripping with contempt. “How dare you filth even breathe the same air as me.”

She pressed her palm against his forehead. Black-purple void energy poured directly into his skull. The man screamed in unimaginable agony as his brain was slowly devoured from the inside. His eyes burst in their sockets, blood and spiritual energy leaking out as his soul was torn apart. His body convulsed violently for several seconds before going limp, hanging lifeless from the void tendril.

The Empress casually tossed his corpse aside like garbage.

Only one spy remained.

The youngest of the three had collapsed to his knees, trembling uncontrollably. Urine stained the front of his robes as he stared at the two brutally murdered bodies of his comrades. The metallic scent of blood and the lingering aura of void energy filled the cavern, making him want to vomit.

The Empress approached him slowly, her steps light and graceful. She stopped right in front of the terrified man and looked down at him with icy indifference.

“You will live,” she declared coldly. “For now.”

The surviving spy looked up at her with tear-filled eyes, shaking like a leaf. “P-Please… spare me… I was only following orders… I—”

“Silence.” The Empress’s voice cut through his begging like a blade. “You have one chance to survive this night. Take me to where Su Qinglan’s family is being held. Lead me to their prison. Do this, and I may grant you, your life. Refuse… and I will make what I did to your friends seem like mercy.”

The man’s face drained of all colour. He knew there was no escape. The monstrous power this woman displayed was far beyond anything he had imagined. With a broken sob, he nodded frantically.

“I… I’ll take you… The family is held in the Shadow Suppression Prison beneath the Heavenly Radiance Sect’s Holy Radiance Peak… I know the hidden routes and some of the patrol patterns…”

The Empress smiled, cold and satisfied.

“Good.”

She grabbed him by the collar and lifted him effortlessly to his feet. Black-purple void energy wrapped around his body, sealing his cultivation and preventing any chance of resistance or escape.

“Lead the way,” she commanded. “And pray that your information is accurate. If you waste even a single moment of my time… I will peel the skin from your body while you are still alive.”

The surviving spy nodded desperately, legs shaking as he began guiding her toward a hidden teleportation formation the spies had prepared for emergency escape. The Empress followed behind him like a grim reaper, her crimson eyes glowing faintly in the darkness.

As they disappeared into the night, two brutally mutilated corpses remained in the cavern, a silent warning to any other fools who dared spy on the Primordial Void Immortal Clan.

The journey to the Heavenly Radiance Sect’s territory was swift and silent. The surviving spy, bound by void chains and trembling with terror, guided the Empress through several hidden teleportation formations and secret routes. With her mastery of spatial laws, the Empress shortened the trip dramatically, arriving at the outskirts of the Radiance Holy Mountain under the cover of night.

The Shadow Suppression Prison was buried deep beneath the mountain, a forbidden underground complex disguised as a training ground for disciplinary disciples. Heavy formations and patrols guarded the entrance, but none of them mattered to the Void Empress.

“Open the way,” she commanded the spy coldly, pressing a finger against his spine. A thread of void energy wormed into his body, ready to tear him apart from the inside if he tried anything.

The man, pale and sweating, activated a hidden identification token with shaking hands. The formation barrier parted just enough for them to slip through. They descended deep into the earth through winding stone corridors lit by sickly yellow spirit lanterns. The air grew heavy with the stench of blood, waste, and despair.

They had barely gone two hundred meters when the first patrol appeared.

Two guards at the mid Spiritual Sea Realm stepped out from a side passage, their auras flaring as they sensed intruders. One of them, a burly man with a scar across his face, narrowed his eyes.

“Who goes—?!”

He never finished the sentence.

The Void Empress flicked her wrist. A single black-purple void tendril shot forward like lightning, piercing straight through his chest. The mid Spiritual Sea Realm guard’s eyes widened in shock as void energy exploded inside his body, devouring his Spiritual Sea in an instant. He let out a choked gurgle before collapsing into a dried husk, his cultivation completely annihilated.

The second guard, late Spiritual Sea Realm, reacted faster. He roared and unleashed a powerful radiant palm strike infused with holy flame Qi. The attack lit up the corridor with blinding golden light.

The Empress didn’t even slow her steps.

She raised one elegant hand. The holy flame palm strike was swallowed whole by swirling void mists, disappearing without a trace. Before the guard could summon another technique, she appeared directly in front of him through a void step. Her delicate palm pressed gently against his forehead.

CRACK.

His skull caved in instantly. Void energy poured into his brain, erasing his soul in a fraction of a second. The late Spiritual Sea Realm expert’s body went rigid, then crumpled lifelessly to the ground like a broken doll. Not a single drop of blood was spilled, only perfect, and ruthless efficiency.

Three more guards rushed toward them from deeper in the corridor, alerted by the brief flare of Qi. Two were mid Spiritual Sea Realm, and one was at the late stage.

The Empress didn’t give them a chance to speak or attack properly.

She waved her hand once. Black-purple void mists exploded outward like a storm. The three guards were instantly ensnared by dozens of void chains. They screamed in terror as the energy began devouring them alive.

The Empress continued walking forward without pausing, dragging the surviving spy behind her like a dog on a leash. The guards’ screams grew higher-pitched and more desperate as their cultivation bases were rapidly drained and their bodies withered. By the time she passed them, all three had been reduced to desiccated corpses, their Spiritual Seas completely devoured.

Not a single alarm was raised.

The entire descent took less than five minutes. The Void Empress slaughtered seven guards, all mid to late Spiritual Sea Realm, with the same casual indifference one might show while swatting flies. Their combined power, which would have been a serious threat to most forces, meant absolutely nothing to her.

Finally, they reached the isolated cell at the end of a long, dimly lit hallway.

Su Qinglan’s family was inside.

The Empress stepped forward and shattered the cell’s locking formation with a casual wave of her hand. The iron bars twisted and melted under the power of the void.

Inside, three figures huddled together in fear.

Su Wei, the father, rose unsteadily, his body covered in whip marks and old bruises. Liu Mei, the mother, clutched her young son Su Chen tightly, her face gaunt and eyes filled with exhaustion. The fourteen-year-old boy stared at the silver-haired woman with wide, terrified eyes.

“Who… who are you?” Su Wei rasped, stepping protectively in front of his family despite his weakened state.

The Empress’s crimson eyes softened ever so slightly, not out of mercy, but calculation. This was Qinglan’s family. They would become useful.

“I am Ling Zihan,” she said calmly, her voice carrying quiet authority. “Your daughter Su Qinglan now serves me faithfully. I have come to fulfil my promise and take you away from this filth.”

The family stared in disbelief. Liu Mei’s eyes filled with tears. “Qinglan… is she alive? Is she safe?”

“She is more than safe,” the Empress replied. “She is stronger than ever and completely loyal to me. Come. We leave now.”

The surviving spy, still standing behind her, suddenly saw a desperate opportunity. While the Empress was speaking, he lunged for a hidden emergency alarm formation on the wall, hoping to alert the entire sect.

He never reached it.

The Empress’s hand shot out like lightning. Void tendrils erupted and wrapped around his limbs, yanking him backward with brutal force. He screamed as he was slammed onto the cold stone floor in front of the family.

“You have served your purpose,” she said coldly.

The spy begged desperately, snot and tears streaming down his face. “Please! I led you here! I did everything you asked! Spare me—!”

The Empress looked down at him with utter contempt.

“I lied.”

Black-purple void energy manifested as dozens of razor-thin threads. With surgical precision, the Empress began peeling the man’s skin from his body while he was still fully conscious. The void threads acted like living scalpels, slicing through the outer layer of skin slowly and methodically.

The man’s screams echoed horrifically through the prison corridor as his skin was stripped away inch by inch. Blood poured onto the floor in rivers. His face was the first to go, revealing raw, twitching muscle underneath. Then his chest, arms, and back. The agony was beyond description. He thrashed wildly in the void bindings, but could not escape.

Su Wei quickly covered his son’s eyes and turned Liu Mei away from the gruesome sight, but they could not block out the tortured screams.

The Empress watched with cold indifference as she continued the slow, torturous flaying. The spy’s screams grew weaker and hoarser until they became nothing more than wet gurgles. By the time she finished, the man was a horrifying, skinless mess of exposed muscle and organs, still barely alive.

With a final pulse of void energy, she crushed his heart and soul, ending his suffering.

The corridor fell silent once more, save for the dripping of blood.

The Empress turned back to Su Qinglan’s family. They stared at her in pure terror, their bodies shaking.

“Do not fear,” she said softly, though her voice still carried chilling authority. “He was an enemy who used your daughter as a tool. His death was necessary. Now come with me. I will take you to the Sky Palace, where your daughter awaits. You will be protected and given resources to recover your strength.”

Su Wei swallowed hard, still shielding his family. “And if we refuse?”

The Empress’s lips curved into a faint smile. “You will not refuse. Your daughter has already given herself to me completely. It is better for all of you to live under my protection than to remain in this hell.”

After a long moment of hesitation, Su Wei nodded weakly. He helped his wife and son to their feet. The Empress waved her hand, enveloping them in a gentle void cocoon that cleansed their bodies of filth and provided temporary healing energy.

With the three rescued prisoners and the brutal remains of the spy left behind as a message, the Void Empress opened a spatial rift and led them back toward the Sky Palace.

As they travelled through the void, the Empress’s crimson eyes gleamed with satisfaction.

Two spies brutally killed. One flayed alive as an example.

The Heavenly Radiance Sect’s hidden influence within her clan had been purged.

And Su Qinglan’s loyalty would only grow stronger once she was reunited with her family.

The silent conquest continued.
