The rider sped away, and only once he was out of sight of the entire troop did he slow down. At a densely wooded area in the pine forest, he stopped and dismounted, heading into the forest.
The soldiers lurking in the darkness exchanged glances and silently agreed to follow.
So, a few figures crouched and crept into the pine forest, barely inside when they heard whispering.
"Why haven’t they made their move yet?" The voice conveyed displeasure, as if blaming the other for incompetence.
