Mid-Level Mountain Garden was not close to Rosemont University at all.
It was raining again, making driving difficult.
When Avery arrived at Joy’s door, it was already 11 p.m.
Avery calmly knocked.
The door opened quickly, and Joy, surprised by the late visit, asked, "What brings you here at this hour?"
With a smart person, there was no need for subtle or roundabout approaches.
Avery went straight to the point. "I’m here to pick up Arthur and Alaric."
Joy looked puzzled. "I don’t know who you’re talking about. Did you come to the wrong place?"
Avery stared at her. "What do I have to do to make you hand them over?"
Joy stepped aside and gestured inside. "Since you don’t believe me, how about searching for them yourself?"
Avery stared at her for a few more seconds. "Sure. Thank you. I’ll find them myself."
Avery walked past Joy, checking each room one by one.
