On the day Ronan and the rest departed for the nursing home, Arthur and Brandon drove them there in an eight-seater SUV
Ronan and the three elders were a little afraid when they saw Brandon.
Brandon told them coldly, "My mother is still recuperating, and my father is on a business trip. The others are either working, taking care of my mother, or attending to your sons. I purposely took leave to send you guys." Ronan and the group smiled apologetically. "Thank you for your help.
At that point, they could only sigh silently in their hearts.
They were going to the nursing home to retire and would stay there until they died. However, none of the members from Gavin and Joel’s household came to send them off. They could not even get through to their phones. They were very disappointed. Even so, they still missed their precious sons and grandchildren.
Brandon said, "Get in the car. We’ll go to Hartselle Town first to pack your belongings. Then, we’ll leave for Sowan Town."
The four of them did not have much luggage. They only packed a few clothes and some daily necessities. There was nothing else.
When it was time to depart, they were quite reluctant to leave. They muttered, "After we go to the nursing home, I wonder if Joel, Hamza, and others will come to visit us. We can’t celebrate holidays and Christmas with the children. It feels meaningless to live..." Brandon and Arthur listened to the conversation but did not say a word.
In the eyes of the Stevens family, whatever Claire and the Carter family did for them was never enough. They would only think that it was too little, and they would not be satisfied.
That was the reason that Avery sent them to the nursing home for retirement using the trick instead of sending them there directly.
It was better to be given something instead of earn the right properly.
