Avery glanced around and said, "Let’s go to the small living room to talk. Everyone else, please keep your distance."
Farrah turned and slowly walked to the small living room, sitting down and looking indifferently at Avery. "I hope your questions aren’t just nonsense."
Avery got straight to the point. "I’ll only ask you three questions. First question: Did you know that Maggie had decided to divorce Nicolas before the incident?"
This question was clearly beyond Farrah’s expectations.
Farrah was stunned for a moment before shaking her head. "I didn’t know." Then, she asked, "Is this true?"
Avery replied, "It’s true."
"Impossible." Farrah shook her head. "On the night of the incident, I told her that Nicolas promised to marry me and urged her to hurry up and divorce him. She clearly told me that she would never get a divorce. She wanted me to always be the hidden mistress and for my children to forever be regarded as illegitimate."
Avery ignored her words and looked straight into her eyes, asking, "Have you ever felt sorry or regretted anything about Maggie?"
Farrah was stunned again, her expression turning icy as anger washed over her face.
"Look at me now, how am I any better than Maggie?" Her tone was filled with hatred, though she didn’t know who to direct it at. "Even though Maggie is dead, her two children are doing well. Her son has become the heir of the Moran Group. What’s there to regret?"
"But what about my son? He died in the womb!" she continued, her voice rising. "And my hands are gone! I need someone to help me take off my pants just to go to the bathroom. Who suffers more than I do?"
