Avery asked, "So, can you play tennis?"
"Yes!" Alaric said proudly, puffing out his chest like a proud rooster. "I became a key player on the school basketball team as soon as I started middle school, which gives me free access to the sports complex. They have tennis courts there, and I often play tennis with the tennis team. It’s the same even in high school and university. The coach of the tennis team even wanted to recruit me, but the basketball team wouldn’t let me go. Well, being a genius means everyone wants you."
Avery gave him a thumbs-up. "Alaric, you’re amazing."
Alaric chuckled and gave a thumbs-up while rubbing his nose. He proudly said, "Of course! I’m known at school as the basketball prince and the tennis prince, and I have a lot of girls chasing after me."
"You’re just bragging," Arthur mocked him. "That’s because I didn’t finish at the University of Technology. If I had stayed there, you wouldn’t have had a chance."
Avery had heard that Arthur was also admitted to the University of Technology with top scores. He had promised to team up with Alaric to create a legend at the university. However, after just one year, he complained that the school wasn’t fun. He said that since his major would lead him to work in a factory after graduation, he might as well help their parents sell barbecue instead. Hence, he decided to drop out of school, ignoring all the advice from his family.
Avery calculated that the year Arthur decided to drop out of school was also the year Jaden was deceived into marriage. She reasonably suspected that Arthur made this decision because he didn’t want to see their parents and Jaden working so hard.
Alaric looked down on Arthur and said, "Just look at you with that pretty boy appearance. Your skin is even whiter than a girl’s, no chest muscles, and your biceps aren’t developed at all. You don’t have any masculinity at all..."
"I have six-pack abs too!" Arthur exclaimed as he grabbed a pillow and threw it at him. "You jocks are all the same. Just like a big gorilla, you only have a big body and strong limbs, yet narrow minds, judging people only by appearance..."
