Chapter 138
After finishing her meal, Luna raised a hand to cover her face and let out a big yawn. She was feeling sleepy, so she took off her brown sunglasses and rubbed her eyes. As soon as she did, she realized her mistake and quickly put the glasses back on. Jaden, who had just poured her a glass of lemonade, looked at her casually. "I was gonna ask earlier—aren’t those sunglasses annoying to wear while you eat?"
Luna secretly sighed in relief, thinking he hadn’t recognized her. But then, Jaden’s next words caught her off guard. "I recognized you a while ago. I don’t really follow celebrities, so you don’t have to worry about any unwanted attention here."
Luna’s eyes widened in shock, her glasses slipping down to reveal a pair of stunning eyes. "Wait... you know who I am?"
Jaden gave a half-smile. "I don’t chase after celebs, but yeah, I’ve seen your movies."
Luna blinked, caught off guard. ’Then why aren’t you freaking out or acting surprised?’ she almost asked but quickly realized how silly it would sound. Instead, she smoothed it over with a grin. "So, a gorgeous woman like me strikes up a conversation, and you’re not even thinking about helping me out?"
Jaden shook his head, completely unbothered. "Nope." He said it so nonchalantly, it was clear he meant it.
Luna felt a little disappointed but wasn’t ready to give up. "Alright then. I’ll just walk around until it cools down a bit. Can I hang out here until the evening?"
"Yeah, that’s cool," Jaden nodded.
Luna grinned, pushing her luck. "How about dinner before I go?"
Jaden chuckled and said, "Sure. What do you wanna eat? I’ll cook it."
Finally, Luna smiled, feeling like she had won a little something. That evening, Luna went out and picked a basket of vegetables herself. She had the farm bot catch a chicken and handed it all over to Jaden to cook dinner. And, as expected, Jaden didn’t disappoint. The food was great.
She also met Jaden’s grandparents and their nanny, who was responsible for taking care of them. The two elderly folks, probably not wanting to interrupt the meal, quietly went upstairs with the nanny to eat on their own.
