"Don’t talk nonsense!" Avery said seriously. "Investigating such a big case is not a joke. Be serious."
"Okay," Daniel immediately restrained his excited expression and stood with his hands by his side like a primary school student. "I will definitely correct my attitude."
Avery then gave a few instructions to Rufus and asked him to send someone to drive her back. On the way back, Avery sent a message to Alexander and told him what had happened that night, but she did not mention that she was Lockwood.
Alexander: [You are awesome.]
Avery pursed her lips and smiled. She replied, [You’re great too.] Then, she couldn’t help but cover her mouth and laugh. Even she herself did not understand. It was just a few simple sentences. Why was she so happy?
Alexander: [Please have a good rest, Miss Carter. Don’t tire yourself out from investigating cases.]
Avery: [I will be careful. Also, I will investigate if Zoe spread the news that your sister is seriously ill. If so, I will give you a result.]
Investigating a case was a very serious matter. It was taboo to have preconceived notions and decide the case without any evidence. No matter how much she suspected Zoe, she would not conclude without evidence. Otherwise, she might mislead the real culprit.
Alexander: [I’m already investigating this matter. I should be able to find something soon. Your time is so precious. There’s no need to waste time on this matter for the time being. I’ll let you know as soon as I have a result.]
