Chapter 56
"Dark Matter?" Zoe’s eyes widened in shock. "Why would the God of Hackers target a novice like me?"
Hailed as the God of Hackers, Dark Matter was a powerful and mysterious elite hacker with the ability to deliver devastating attacks. No one knew their true identity. They stayed under the radar as long as no one crossed them. Zoe couldn’t fathom why a high school student like herself would attract Dark Matter’s attention.
"Whatever the reason, I just don’t want to be at odds with Dark Matter," Chaos said sharply, staring at Zoe with a grim expression while poking her shoulder. "I advise you to stop downloading or storing such content. It’s best not to post anything online either, or you’ll be asking for trouble.
"Let me warn you again. Creating viruses like this is child’s play for Dark Matter. If they decide to be ruthless, they could easily destroy your operating system and wipe all the data from your computer, leaving nothing behind."
Years ago, he and four famous hackers had teamed up to attack Dark Matter. Despite their five-to-one advantage, they were left in tatters. That event shattered his confidence and left him with severe psychological scars. Zoe, however, was unwilling to accept this.
"But—"
Chaos interrupted her. "Enough. Take your computer and go." He shoved her tablet into her arms and pushed her toward the door. "I spent over two hours getting your computer back to normal. If this happens again, don’t come looking for me."
"Wait—" Zoe wanted to ask some technical questions, but before she could even finish, Chaos had already pushed her out of the apartment and closed the door in her face.
"What’s with the attitude? I gave you this apartment, you know," Zoe muttered, glaring at the closed door before stomping her foot and storming off.
